would give it a zero if i could. rude staff. ordered jhol momo which completely tasteless. my wife ordered thakalithali(chicken), pork was served instead. when asked what meat was that, they discussed with each other in their language and made fun of the situation( saw them without their notice) and the server said it was chicken(lied on my face). my wife don’t eat pork, so i didn’t want her to know that she had pork, so didn’t make a fuss. suggest not to come here and spoil your beautiful outing. honest review. kindly do not visit this place looking at ratings.

absolutely loved the porkthalihere at nimtho! the accompaniments were as good as the pork in itself. even tried pork trotters for the first time, which were a little fattier than expected, but still yum!

my experience was similar to that of another reviewer. they gave us the menu,took the order and after 30 min told that onlythaliis available.

absolutely loved the ambiance of the place, the place was neat and the brass utensils were lovely,

the jhol momo was out of this world with thin momos in a warm tomato based soup that was perfect for the cold weather.

the next thing that we loved was the phing ( glass noodle) was absolutely delicious.

thethaliwas a little underwhelming. i've had better ones in kolkata itself. have eaten a lot of hill thalis but this was strictly average.

the shaphale was decent, won't say wow.

but overall the food was nice and i would surely recommend the jhol momo and phing

great ambience and very polite staff.
we tried the sikkimesethaliand thukpa, both were quite good. had a tongba and it was a great experience... must try if u have not had it before. must visit if u want to sample some authentic local cuisine. go for it.

food is fantastic. thakalithaliis a must try. as is the pork curry. service takes forever. there is always just one server. be prepared to wait to wait at least 45 minites

have visited nimtho twice in my 15 days stay in gangtok. the food here is rich and made with love, the service here can slightly be improved provided they get more service staff.

tried jhol momo, shaphaley, thakalithaliand sikkimese thali. the food overall is great and the ambience is good too.

a must visit for sure for everyone.

great food. tried the thakalithalipork- the veg items were too good, great for a kid, the pickles were amazing. nepali pork curry - fatty and tasty, though not as spicy. tingmo - bit dense and curry. chicken momo - soft and juicy. wanted to try more but too full. do not miss the thali

we ordered sikkimesethaliand it was amazing tbh! we heard each name for the first time and everything has a unique taste. the price was reasonable. the interiors were elegant. there's seating near the window from where you can have a view of the streets. the staff explained each item of thethalivery patiently. overall nice experience.
p.s. i may have mentioned something wrong in the picture, correct me if you notice.

ambience is awsm, foods are also good with various options to have nepali, sikkimise, tibbetian dishes. but u habe 2 choose properly. we had buff suketu , thakalithali& choilo, buff suketu was not good, hard to chew. other than that everything was good.

when i entered the restaurant, i loved the ambiance,; the staff and the service was great. the place is so peaceful and it has this ethic vibe. we had buff sukuti, sikkimese thali, thakalithaliand chicken karachi; we totally fell in love with buff sukuti, it was amazing.

on a trip to gangtok i was looking forward to some traditional food.
and nimtho did not disappoint me.. every food ws delicious, ambiance was perfect
we had pork chili, tingmo, thakalithaliand jhol momo

amazingly good food...authentic sikkimese and nepali cuisine served with a lot of warmth in the cold climes of gangtok.
must try the thakalithaliand sikkimese thali. the sikkimese pork curry and nepali chicken curry are to die for. the variety of local pickles and the yak cheese (chhurpi) dishes are really un-missable.

two storeyed place but curiously if you change your table after ordering your food ( which is what we did) the staff says service may be delayed. didn’t quite understand the reluctance but having said that our food was not unduly delayed or anything. the sikkimese chickenthaliwas just okay. the thakkali vegetarianthaliwas better. portions were alright but items included in the plate seemed reluctant additions. a tad disappointing experience and that was our last night in gangtok and we had thought we were saving the best for the last.
