good place in ranchi to have bengali and odia dishes. ordered plain rice, chicken curry and potato fries(aloo bhaja). decent portion ofriceand spicy chicken curry was a pretty good combination as it turned out to be. aloo bhaja was crispy. total bill came out to be 179/-

the place is a must visit for all the mutton curry fans out there. the best combo is mutton curry andriceaccompanied with aloo bhaja and pepsi or sprite. though this place is not a family place one can always opt for takeaway.

what can be better than having home style cooked and served food..being a bong i always crave to visit this place for some good old mutton andriceand you can never go wrong here if you order this..they serve some authentic bengali cuisines which are otherwise very difficult to find in our town..their mid- way pricing is also a factor as you get a lot of good stuff and quantity at this price with great taste...this place is a bit crowded but i can understand that everyone needs to have a hold of some good yummy food.....

budget restro/hotel: i have been to this place so many time. mainly for its bengali food. their mutton-rice plate is quite popular. they have options in fish and chicken too. in fish they have multiple options depending on your choice and preference. my personal favorite is mutton rice. you can must try aloo bhaja along with the mutton/chicken/fishriceplate. mutton was fresh and tender. all though its a bengali/oriya restro but you will get the jharkhandi touch in it taste. ambiance is just ok. popular in office goers class and for inter city travellers (as ranchi railway station is just 1/2 km) for their lunch mainly because of its location and pricing ( it's very pocket friendly)

as it is famous for it's mutton, the veg menu doesn't offer much to the foodies.
seasonal vegetables are served withriceand dal. average taste.

it's really good restaurant for the lunch and dinner because main course of this restaurant very nice and i like fish withriceof this restaurant.

here comes the heaven for mutton lovers. this place made my ranchi visit even more interesting.

it looks like an old hotel and seems like this is operative since last few decades. the entrance is from the rear side of the building. as you go to the first floor and enter the premise, there you understand the real worth of this place. a long que of people waiting to enter the dining area even at the off peak hours. however, those who want to get the stuff packed need not wait.

once you get to the table, the journey to actual food heaven starts. the sumptuous flavor of the signature mutton curry is all in the air and doubles the hunger while you wait for your order. with no breads on offer, the curry comes with boiled rice. as soon as you take the first bite, you feel that the wait is worth it. one plate of curry comes with 4 pieces of mutton and is sufficient as per the diet of an average indian.
although, the guy like me can't resist to order one more plate and even after that only the stomach is filled while dil wanted to have more.

the price is unbelievably affordable. a plate of mutton curry andricecosts just rs. 125.

i had been in ranchi for over a week and was tired of the rich hotel food. i wanted soul food. being a bengali that generally means mach bhaat and dal to me. thanks to zomato, i think i hit gold when i accidentally stumbled on this post about the new india hotel serving bengali cuisine.

though the entrance of the place looks shady from outside and is quite literally through a dark dingy lane, you will forgive the restaurant for this once as soon as you take your first dig at their food. as soon as you enter, there is long climb till the third floor for the dining area. the ambiance of the building is that of an old north kolkata house with red oxide floors and wooden window shutters. this already preps you up for a good bengali experience.

i happened to go for lunch to this place and ordered the famed mutton curry andriceand oh boy, i was totally blown away, both by taste, quantity and time of service. the place was literally crawling with people and still my order was served in under 5 minutes. i was served with a mounting pile of rice, a dash of lemon, chilies and mutton curry. there were 4 large, succulent pieces, and they seem to maintain the standard across all the servings of mutton. no one gets an unfair share. they do have a platter of fish and vegetarian dishes, but they seem to be very limited and get out of stock quite literally within an hour and a half of the restaurant's start time.

as i was exiting from the restaurant, i happened to notice a lady over 60 years old in kitchen. upon asking a few waiters around, i discovered that the delicious mutton curry is prepared according to her recipe and she personally supervises the mutton preparation to ensure there is absolutely no compromise in quality and she has been doing this right from the day the hotel was inaugurated to now. now that's some commitment to quality.

i am super impressed!

in one simple sentence i would say awesome...justgo there and have muttonricewith papad and you wont need anything else....i dont ask for menu ever....i heard fish dishes are also awesome so if u are a fish lover jst try them too..

i came to know about india hotel from huge number of people who has visited ranchi sometime in their life

this new india hotel is not the original one which everyone recommends....

please find the original hotel near to hotel capitol hill...opp to federal bank...in the ground floor there is showroom of manyavar and uninor to help you

the photos present here are of original india hotel only....they don't have any web site...they are not even present in zomato

actually they don't require all of these as their food quality tells about themselves....if you are a foody....loves good quality homemade bengali food...not looking for ambience then don't go to this new india hotel...ask some local person once you reach capitol hill hotel area....your search will be beneficial

at lunch time sometime waiting list touch 100 in india hotel...in the evening they are open 7 to 9 pm only.

i went to this new india hotel on 13th august after getting confused by this zomato and website....i have tested their mutton andriceon that day....
on 14th aug i got the correct location from the local people and tested the original india hotel and believe me its awesome

there is huge difference between this two.
