do not expect this type offood.just waste of money.

this place is namesake of an old bengali restaurant.

this place is not at all bengali , only 2-3 dishes.
the place is not run by bengali people or has bengali chefs.
thefoodis just their version of bengalifoodwhich has been modified completely to suit the local palate, not authentic at all.

serving jhuri alu bhaja ( matchstick potato), moong dal and few fish dishes ( which was prepared in bengali way) doesn't qualify you to label yourself a bengali restaurant.

basic bengali dishes like posto, sukhto, chorchori and dhoka danla is missing from the menu.

a simple chatni (sugar, water and raw mango, seasoned and spiced) is out of their culinary capabilities.
this place has no relationship with oriya cusine.

better cook at home than coming to this place. ( having bhaate bhaat/panta bhaat at home is better)

try the original 'india hotel' at main road.
people are confusing this restaurant with the original legendary one, that is why this place has 4.2 rating.

please dont order fish item it was very bad very bad taste yar kasam se please dont order bhai ghatiyafooditem shame shame shame

those who love semi cooked or not so overcooked mutton will definitely love this place... this the most popular place for mutton dish in ranchi.. according to mefood3/5 because i dont like undercooked mutton

food is very pathetic....the quality offoodis very much degraded...it is better to order from somewhere else.....i have ordered fish masala....the masala was whole watery...as if fish in fresh water....never expected such bad food

one of the places where people from ranchi especially begalis love to visit is india hotel. this family restaurant runed by a bengali family generations by generations has a reputation unbeatable. although, new india hotel is branch of it's own as the original claims to have no branches at all. the persistent difference can be seen in thefoodas well. the famous mutton chawal from the new india hotel might not please the way original india hotel did. the restaurant has an extended menu with affordable price but the taste might not be as good as expected.

here comes the heaven for mutton lovers. this place made my ranchi visit even more interesting.

it looks like an old hotel and seems like this is operative since last few decades. the entrance is from the rear side of the building. as you go to the first floor and enter the premise, there you understand the real worth of this place. a long que of people waiting to enter the dining area even at the off peak hours. however, those who want to get the stuff packed need not wait.

once you get to the table, the journey to actualfoodheaven starts. the sumptuous flavor of the signature mutton curry is all in the air and doubles the hunger while you wait for your order. with no breads on offer, the curry comes with boiled rice. as soon as you take the first bite, you feel that the wait is worth it. one plate of curry comes with 4 pieces of mutton and is sufficient as per the diet of an average indian.
although, the guy like me can't resist to order one more plate and even after that only the stomach is filled while dil wanted to have more.

the price is unbelievably affordable. a plate of mutton curry and rice costs just rs. 125.

if you are looking for quality bengali food. look no further.this is one of the best places in ranchi to have fish and mutton cooked in home style like the ones we have in west bengal. good and hyegenicfoodand total value for money.

it's like a dhaba for mutton and fish lovers. excellentfoodbut not so good ambience and is always overcrowded. takeaway is the best option

this place serves authentic bengali food.foodis good at times but they lack consistency. the place is very small and its always crowded. its better not to mention about the cleanliness. the waiting area smells like urinals most f the time. speaking of the food: chicken curry is undercooked most of the times, shrimps are not shelled properly..most of the items are not available due to heavy rush. but at times they prepare awesome egetarian dishes.
