thisplaceis contending for my fav restaurant in new orleans. great drinks and a pro bar tender, amazing muffuletta, and a beautiful building and courtyard. service is a little slow, but they were plenty polite and is actually encouraged me to chill out and pretend i was on vacation for a second. cool place!

ok, so due to quirkiness i had to check thisplaceout. it doesn't disappoint with it's darkly lit bar, fast service with slow southern style. i also appreciate the opportunity to have a muffaletta of normal proportions (pictured is a quarter). must have a pimm's cup here, right? especially when created by the bartender with the luscious stache.

step into another time and place. its hard to describe why i like napoleon house so much. maybe its the strains of opera music lilting through the lazy back patio on a balmy afternoon. maybe its the great bartenders who know their craft and the history of the place. the bar just feels like its set in another time and place, and i love that. the pimm's cups are outrageous. why does thisplacemake the traditional drink of wimbleton in a french themed cafe? unclear, but it works. honorable mention goes to their sazarac, a new orleans institution of a drink that is well made here. their roast beef "poor boy" (spelled that way on the menu) is outstanding. finish up your meal with a biscuit tortoni (frozen, rum infused custard) and you will leave satisfied.

one of the first restaurants we ate at was napoleon house.  they have quite a history there, the original building was actually built for napoleon himself, but he never actually lived there.  since the house was made for napoleon, the restaurant just kept the name!  however, this is not why we went to the restaurant.  we went because we heard they have the original pimm’s cup drink! when asked where we wanted to sit, we definitely wanted to sit in the famous southern new orleans courtyard!  as we walked through the restaurant though, the ambiance is casual, most furniture is wooden.  so it seemed like a family friend place, or a casualplaceto have lunch and dinner.  the courtyard itself wasn’t super big, but large enough to have large groups.  the great thing is that it’s half covered!  so it actually rained that morning and half the tables were wet, but the covered portion was nice and dry! pimm’s cup consists of british gin, lemonade, lemon-lime soda and a cucumber for garnish.  it

you get what you pay for i guess. i can not recommend thisplacefor food as it was sub par. but the atmosphere and drinks are worth stopping by for in the courtyard. i have never been let down so bad on a muffletta, i couldn't even eat half of the half!

came on a recommendation from a guide. theplacewas small and dark but had great charm about it . takes you back in time to some degree. water came fast as you could sit which was appreciated due to the heat. the house was actually built for neapolitan by two of his generals with a plot to sail him here when his plans were failing. he never made it. the staff a slow here. so leave that expectation outside. ordered the mufalata half which was very good. and right size for lunch. quarter was very small to my eye the service somehow improved. just to he clear these folks are very nice. sandwich was great. olive salad wonderful on and the bread fresh. good spot to get a break from seafood and cajun

live like an emperor!. we had fallen in love with this bar the first time we wandered in, and it's one of our usual stops every time we hit the quarter. everyone raves about the pimm's cup, which is great but i personally think they make the best sazerac in town. old school bartenders with class and talent, and the atmosphere speaks for itself.

we love thisplaceso much, we decided to have our recent wedding reception in the upstairs event room. couldn't have been more perfect for us - our guests were really impressed, the staff was great and the food.... jeezus. and the whole thing was incredibly affordable for how damn fancy we felt!

this is the place.... thisplaceis old and haunted...in a good way. the lighting is dark with spirits dancing, from the various bottles being poured, swirling 'bout. pimm's cup. no hype...just the best.

ordered both the cheese board and cafe charcuterie for starters. brilliant. fresh cheeses, fruit, bread, and pate filled our table. this was a full meal really, but we ordered more.

maybe central grocery "invented" the muffuletta, but the hot muffuletta served here is no slouch. a single muffuletta was split three ways with no complaints other than begging for more. delicious and controversially served warm.

excellent food and drink at such a specialplacelike "napoleon house" is more than worth the price. (cheap, really.) atmosphere? with plenty to spare. enjoy. it is a experience that you will never forget. it's enough to make you return to new orleans, no matter where you live.

if you are looking for a historic landmark with an old new orleans feel, this is a must visit. order the pimm's cup, some seafood gumbo, a quarter muffalatta and you are good to go! thisplaceis in the "1000 places to see before you die" book so you can cross one off the list!

didn't love it. we are here in no for a business trip and had decided to go to stanley's for dinner but, upon arriving, realized it was a breakfast/lunchplacenot a dinner place. so the waitress suggested we go to napoleon house because the food was great and the atmosphere was charming. we got the hummus appetizer, which we liked, except the bread was cold and a tad stale. for our entrees, i got the shrimp remoulade stuffed avocado salad, which was good, but not great. the lettuce was in two leaves, which i had to tear up myself, the shrimp were small and there were only 4 or 5 in the dish. also the plate was mostly filled with a bunch of more stale bread. my husband got the roast beef poboy, which he liked, but didn't love. also he got a side of the jambalaya, which was okay. overall, we didn't understand what the hype was about. also, the server was very indifferent, made no eye contact, and forgot to bring my husband's drink. we won't go back.
