beware do not go here. the food was absolutely horrible. there was nothing except for one appetizer that even remotely tasted good. don't waste time, money, or calories here.

...... one of my favourite sandwiches in the world. on toasty foccacia style bread, topped with olive salad, provolone cheese, salamis, hams, mortadella… originating from new orleans it is one of my favourite things to get here, and napoleon house are well known for many thinking they make better ones that central grocery, the original inventors of the sandwich. we sat and waited in a corner of the restaurant that has been open since 1914, for a takeaway sandwich to eat while we walked back.

historic building, charming courtyard (where 7 of us had lunch and cocktails). the cocktails were good but the food was sub-par and our waiter was an odd duck, no manners.

if grey is your favorite flavor. i am stunned by the high percentage of likes for this place. i am not a very picky eater, but our food was c+ at best. we had "the organic", a vegetable sandwich that was really sloppily prepared from ingredients that were all a little on the grey side, a bowl of gumbo that had the shell of an entire crab with hardly any actual meat (and nothing to crack the claw), and pimms cup (which was tasty). our server was friendly but really inattentive - we had to ask for things several times before we got them. bathrooms were really dirty. it might be a good spot for drinks, but do yourself a solid and do not get food. or go to the bathroom. or need a spoon.

you get what you pay for i guess. i can not recommend this place for food as it was sub par. but the atmosphere and drinks are worth stopping by for in the courtyard. i have never been let down so bad on a muffletta, i couldn't even eat half of the half!

my husband and i got the meatball po boy and although the meatballs were good (not as good as homemade) there was too much bread and we ended up eating the meat and cheese off the sandwich and left the bread. didn't care much for the atmosphere and the service was okay.

amazing, delicious food, beautiful ambience and great service. although they have been around over 100 years under the same family, it's our new favorite nola restaurant.

came on a recommendation from a guide. the place was small and dark but had great charm about it . takes you back in time to some degree. water came fast as you could sit which was appreciated due to the heat. the house was actually built for neapolitan by two of his generals with a plot to sail him here when his plans were failing. he never made it. the staff a slow here. so leave that expectation outside. ordered the mufalata half which was very good. and right size for lunch. quarter was very small to my eye the service somehow improved. just to he clear these folks are very nice. sandwich was great. olive salad wonderful on and the bread fresh. good spot to get a break from seafood and cajun

horrible service. the water server was eating a cookie and dropped crumbs into our water. our waiter had a bad attitude and the manager was worse. all in all there are plenty of better restaurants to go to in new orleans.

i love everything about this place. if i lived in new orleans, i would be here every day. simple but good food, classic cocktails, and a totally indescribable atmosphere: the classical music, bow-tied waiters, graffiti all over the deteriorating plaster on the walls... it's like stepping back in time, and you feel at home as soon as you sit down.

have a drink in the courtyard. have been here a couple of times just to be sure about it. neither time did the food impress. the courtyard however, is a great spot to sit and have a drink. beautiful building. service is decent.

live like an emperor!. we had fallen in love with this bar the first time we wandered in, and it's one of our usual stops every time we hit the quarter. everyone raves about the pimm's cup, which is great but i personally think they make the best sazerac in town. old school bartenders with class and talent, and the atmosphere speaks for itself.

we love this place so much, we decided to have our recent wedding reception in the upstairs event room. couldn't have been more perfect for us - our guests were really impressed, the staff was great and the food.... jeezus. and the whole thing was incredibly affordable for how damn fancy we felt!

napoleon house was a more upscale place with a bit older clientele. everyone was really nice and friendly.
