good but not consistent. i was very excited to try this place. i have gone a couple of times and have loved everything. the playboy roll is amazing and is quite a show when they light it on fire. also try the skittles martini, seriously, it is great and you can usually pick your flavor. but i have heard negative reviews from friends, so i don't know if i am just getting lucky or if they are too picky. give it a try!

since my previous review in october, i have been to naked tchopstix several more times, and there have been a number of significant improvements. i found the staff to be increasingly courteous and efficient, which was much needed six months ago. i hope they continue to improve their service, and i will continue to love eating at their establishment.

go a month from now.. while the food completely blew away the rest of fort wayne's japanese competition, the service left a lot to be desired. i am aware of the message that the restaurant posted itself, but its claims made it sounds as if the kinks were worked out at this point. allow me to assure you that they are not. our waittress, although distracted by a massive group in another room, made many mistakes that could have been easily corrected, which severely detracted from the overall experience.
our soups actually arrived after our sushi and main courses, which seems like it was caused by carelessness rather than being busy. once we received the bill, we waiting about 15 minutes for the waittress to pick it up. it only was taken when another waiter who saw our plight assisted. these are only two examples, but the entirety of the service that evening was similar to this. also, this might be a bit too picky, but as we were leaving, the hostess never thanked us. just as a matter of courtesy and as a business-minded person myself, i think it's fair to say that a simple "thank you" or "good night" is in order.
i have no doubt that naked tchopstix will soon be one of fort wayne's hottest dining locales as indicated by their fantastic japanese cuisine and modern interpretation of the restaurant business. i'm quite ecstatic that this star has been added to fort wayne's ever-growing menu, but my advice would be to go in a month when all of the wrinkles are pressed.

i love working here and i can understand why you might think i'm just posting this to gain another good review, but i can honestly say i love the food, drinks, atmosphere and staff! i have tried 90% of the menu and love it all. i am also happy to say we have gained some frequent customers which i appreciate greatly. i also always hear great feedback from our guests and i always try to accommodate suggestions and requests when given. i highly recommend the playboy roll, maui roll, orange sunshine roll, mafia roll, and the mango tango roll. our owners are korean therefore we have very tasty kimchi which is spicy and very authentic. my favorite entrees are general tso's chicken, jalapeno pork and veggies , mongolian beef, and we also have quite a few delicious appetizers as well. we have a great selection of asian beer, sake, specialty drinks, and skittles martini's infused with real skittles! we have a full bar, and a nice wine selection. at first when we opened there were some problems but they have improved an we continue to strive to please our guests. i enjoy working here, love the food, and i appreciate the nice compliments and frequent visits! please join our fun environment and try something new!

don't be bashful, get "naked"!. i decided to try this place on the basis of some of the reviews here. the exterior is brightly painted in red and orange. the interior is very nice, with a different mood in each room. i was greeted warmly and asked for a table in the bar. the bar is good sized with plenty of bar stools as well as some high-top tables and a few booths. lots of dark wood and tasteful asian art mix with the muted lighting to create a warm atmosphere. the main dinning room/sushi bar employs lighter wood and lighting, but nice contemporary accents. an additional dining room to one side is similar. all aspects of the restaurant were imaculately clean including the restroom.
my server was very friendly and prompt. i chose some pork/wasabi siew mai as an appetizer. they appeared a few minutes later served with some soy dipping sauce. the meat was the consistency of chinese meat balls and the little wasabi highlight in each bite was the perfect level of spice. for the main dish i had "spicey scallops". this was a large plate with a very ample portion of tender, delicious scallops stir fried with carrot, cabbage, green pepper and a great pepper sauce. lots of tender seafood and spicey crunch in every bite.
i left very full and very happy.
location note: this place is almost invisible from jefferson now that a new hilton garden hotel has gone up in front of it. look for the hotel and then drive around back!

fantastic food. the sushi here is so good. for those of you who can' t stand the idea of eating raw fish, you have to try this sushi restaurant. they have many many rolls that are cooked. the crunch munch roll filled with tempura and cooked shrimp is excellent. the dancing dragon with cooked eel and avocado is wonderful. they even have a hot sushi roll, the fire roll, that is dipped in tempura batter and deep fried. if you don't want any meat, you can't go wrong with the mango tango roll, which is totally vegetarian.
service was great. fast , friendly, outgoing young servers who seemed to be having fun and staying on top of it.
awesome asian decor with modern american pop music fuses the whole east meets west vibe the place has going on.
prepare to spend some money when you get here cause one roll is never enough. bring friends and share a huge platter of rolls.
make a reservation if you want to eat on the weekends but they tell me that during the week you should be able to drop in whenever you want and a table will be available.
we had dinner, but our server informed us that they have a great lunch menu that features both sushi and hot asian food all under $10. she also told us that they have drink features of half price martinis on wednesday and $20 bottles of wine early in the week.

i really think that this is the hottest new restaurant in fort wayne.

oh, and it is really hard to find but really worth it. don't try to use your gps to get there, it will get you lost. turn into the kroger across from coventry go through the parking lot, turn left on the road in front of the state police post, , see the sign that says hilton garden inn, then turn right into their parking lot, you should be able to see it.

naked tchopstix. once again, at our restaurant, we have gone through what we believe to be necessary changes to our staff. after the restaurant got up and running we discovered that some of the people hired were not right for the position or the company and have been let go in the past 3 months. many of our former employees are unhappy with this and have set out to sabotage the company, with things including writing nasty reviews, as well as, breaking and entering into the restaurant several times. please do not let these reviews tarnish your opinion on trying us out, and for those of you who did have an unpleasant experience, i would like to apologize as before, and remind everyone that we did just open in october, in a new city, where we are not as familiar with people, and the way they prefer things to be. i would like to invite anyone who has an unpleasant experience in the future, to feel free to email me at managertchopstix@gmail.com, i am based out of indianapolis and currently unable to be in the fort wayne location as much as i would like to help build better employees and customer relationships. we are very excited to be in fort wayne and are always open to hear your opinion as well as make changes that are necessary to our restaurant and our staff. on a side note, to anyone trying our food for the first time, i would like to recommend some of the more adventurous dishes, as most of the basic dishes are made with the idea of having simpler dishes. thank you to everyone who has come out and tried us, and to everyone who keeps coming back.

naked tchopstix; fort wayne.. hi everyone,
we just wanted to take the chance to thank you for lettings us become aware of problems going on in the restaurant these past few new weeks of being open. as you know, we just opened our doors for the first time, monday, october 11th. prior to this time we prepared ourselves the best we could to please everyone to walk through our doors. however, we have gone through some recent staffing problems and have had to let a few people go, as a result of them not sharing the same idea of how the restaurant would run smoothly, these people were very displeased with being let go. as a result, the restaurant has not run nearly as smoothly as we anticipated, as well as having some very biased reviews posted on this site as a form of retaliation, just for not working out within our company.
we want to apologize to any of you that may have had a bad experience these first few weeks of being open, and hope that you will be willing to come try us out again, now that our kinks have been worked out.
to address any concerns, we have had serving staff and some management come in to help from our mother store in indianapolis, to assure that more knowledge can be passed around amongst the staff, that can be passed on to our customers. we have restaffed a lot of the kitchen to get our food out in a quicker, more timely process without losing any taste.

again, thank you all for posting reviews, and please feel free at anytime to talk to any of the management staff in the restaurant if you have any questions or problems! hope to see you all again soon!

amazing....but i cant speak for the managment!. the frist time i went to naked tchopstix, was probably about a month ago. the first thing that impressed me were the hostesses. as soon as i walked in the door i was immediately greeted. they were very kind and had good manners. i wrote their names down on a piece of paper so i could write this reveiw. julie and leticia. as for the food, wow! everything i had was amazing! i tried the crab toast and jam and ordered like 10 sushi rolls. :) i know the playboy was a winner. i cant remember any of the other ones, but there wasnt one i didnt like. my server was pretty awesome too! her name was jamie. she always kept a smile on her face! that is what makes an amazing resturant and its atmosphere even better! the only downfall to my trip was the managment!!! i give them a -10 on their presence. i asked a different server walking by who their manager was for that day and she pointed to a woman who seemed to always have her cell phone in her hands! i then asked if there was someone else i could talk to who dressed and looked the "part" about my great experience because i felt that a manager shouldnt be wearing leggings and snow boots with a postion like that. so she sent brandon (i believe his name was) he on the other hand was dressed appropriately but....his attitude sucked!! if i were ever given the chance to speak to the owners i would tell them they've done a wonderful job on everything...except their management! it's a major down fall. although, i will be returning. hopefully they will have their stuff together next time i visit.

over hyped. food is fine, service was okay but i really felt that it is too expensive for what you get. the lobby was not a good space for waiting for a table. very cramped. there are better sushi bars in town for less money. it's just over hyped.

prepare yourself for both what you know (american servers and pipped in american music) quickly colliding with asian manners.

fantastic food, bad manners. first time going. i was a bit nervous about going during busy hours but me and my friend went and i was pleasantly surprised, yet shocked at how empty it was. we ordered a few of the specialty rolls which was excellent. fresh, and on par with the sushi at asakusa or any other sushi joint i have tried. food was very good as well! the waitress was average but nothing to remember. the music was 80's music which was good but odd for an asian restaurant. the decor was beautiful and has been completely revamped to look radically different from the previous restaurants.the only complaints was the fact that i could significantly hear the wait staff loudly gossiping and talking. it ruined the atmospheric vibe. the kicker was that they weren't even standing close to us which is an indication of how outrageously loud and rude they were being. the restaurant may not be as busy, but that does not mean it is "catch up time." another complaint was the host staff. they were rude and snobby. while i was leaving, they acted as if it was a pain to answer my few questions and interrupt their conversation. and a "thank you" or even a goodbye would have been nice to hear while leaving.

not the best location for the restaurant, but fantastic food. customer service needs to press out their kinks. if worked on, this will ensure me being a faithful customer. regardless, i will return in a few weeks to see if there is any progress.

worst chicken ever. i went there for lunch with my aunt.. i got the spicy chicken box. the chicken was so dry it was not edible. not only was it dry, but it had no flavor nor was it spicy. all i could taste was dust. i've never spit out food in a restaurant until that day. the teriyaki was really thick and super sweet. tried mixing it with the chicken, didn't help. you would think the white rice would be at least edible, but it was under cooked and hard still. the only thing i did like was the ginger dressing on the salad and the california roll was ok. pretty standard, it had no personality to it at all. it was like gourmet store bought sushi.

good food, bad location. pros: unique food and sushi. fantastic service. awesome atmosphere. price was reasonable.

cons: location is hard to get to and hidden behind a mega hotel off the highway. music (oldies, 80's, and 90's in a distinctively modern asian restaurant?) didn't match the atmosphere. host staff seemed a tad rude.
