i have a tendency of making requests that are not on the menu when i order food. the manager as well as the waiter were very patient with me and accommodating. i ordered from meze, my favorite were the meatballs with napoletana sauce.

mythos is a great greek restaurant! their portions are quite big! their calamari salad is delicious and so is there platters! i love spending summer days here in the sun with a good bottle of white wine and some tapas! their macaroons are also to die for!! definitely try it out 🎈

the food at mythos is delicious. i always prefer the meze selection but the last time i ate there i ordered off the menu and was surprised by the quality of their main courses. the drinks are a bit overpriced in my opinion but the food is quality and the service top notch.

good selection of mezze and greek dishes - always washed down with crisp white wine.  it is best to share platters and sample a mixture of greek/mediterranean nibbles.  although in a busy section of the mall, it provides reprieve from the hustle of the housewife-blonds-running-after-screaming-kids crowd.

my friends and i recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at mythos last week. i was impressed with the vegetarian options available. i cannot remember the name of the meal i had but it was mushrooms, spinach and feta! the food was fresh and delicious. the ambiance was inviting a glass or two of wine so ofcourse we obliged. for dessert we devoured the macaroons. i love macaroons but many places that offer macaroons usually fall short. mythos did not disappoint. such a pleasant experience. #tastejoburg

i write this review with a measure of reluctance although i feel compelled to do so: reluctance because i have had many memorable meals at mythos over the years, but i cannot ignore the objectionable service i received on 1 september 2015. i ordered one of my favourite dishes on the menu, garida (prawn) linguine (priced at r115) which supposedly includes 6 prawns, five in the dish itself and one as garnish on top of the dish. when the waiter served the dish, i could not find reasonable evidence of six prawns in the dish: the queen-sized prawn used as garnish was fine, and according to expected standards, but in the dish itself i found either five totally overcooked diminutive prawns (shrimp-sized) or five totally overcooked fragments of prawns which collectively would not amount to more than two and a half queen-sized prawns. when i challenged the waiter about the lack of prawns in the dish, he reported the matter to the floor manager, who ignored me and could not be bothered by the issue. he merely continued to chat with waitresses who were not serving tables at the time. as such, the dish basically amounted to linguine with a béchamel sauce and a few lost and totally overcooked fragments of prawn. a bit steep at r115, i would think.

plaka's cousin. popular for their meze and traditional greet dishes, this outlet has cool, calm and serene decor. the menu is quite comprehensive.

one of my favorite restaurants! great food. great vibe. i was there for the sunday lunch 'rush' and prepared myself for a delayed service. but the food came out quick. the service was excellent! loved every second!

had a cup of coffee and a light lunch, nothing spectacular.. but quite enjoyable. enjoyed the sign outside. 'we don't offer free wifi, speak to your friends'... good service.. no real negatives, just didn't wow me..

was our first visit to mythos and definitely not the last 😀😀.

the food was extremely tasty and well prepared. there was enough choices for vegetarians.

service was also quite good. the restaurant has a nice busy vibe 😊. a good idea to rather make a reservation.

i am mad about mythos! even thinking about it now makes me miss those warm summer nights sharing some tapas with a friend on the deck. the restaurant's layout and location is great, service is on a good standard, the food is amazing and the atmosphere very welcoming. not a place i'd think about visiting during the winter, although i'm sure it's still worthwhile, but it's the ideal place for a summer rendez-vous...

had a late lunch with a friend and the food was amazing! loved the atmosphere and setting. they provided heaters and blankets for people sitting outside. loved that! 👍🏾

the best yero in town, the closes you will get to the real greece. staff always smiling, abd the manager always visit the table. love the loyalty reward points

are you looking for something completely different? if so mythos might just do it for you. their meza platters to share are great and open your word up to different types of food you don't exactly eat every day.

if you enjoy a good time and greek food, or any food for that matter this spot is for you. they have a great range of cocktails and super delish platters that you can build yourself. it's great for a social gathering and all round fun. on some occasions they even break plates and things. if you enjoy macaroons too then this is the place you want to go. they are tasty tasty tasty so make sure you get more than one flavour.
