i had been to mynt several times before for dining in, bringing friends, and it never disappointed.
so last week i wanted to try takeout for iftar. so i called the restaurant, and to my rescue was the food industry veteran and mynt owner, mr. rudy. after explaining our requirements, he suggested a customized and balanced order for us (thanks to his sharp memory remembering our previous visits, and thanks to his vast knowledge of the various indian cuisines and typical customization).
when i picked up the food, which was ready on time, my entertainer app crashed and so i wasn't able to avail the discount. mr. rudy was kind to offer me a direct discount to my relief.
we started the iftar with the almond chicken soup, and what a pleasant surprise! the soup alone would have sufficed to quench all my iftar cravings: creamy, aromatically mild-spiced with soft chicken breast chunks.
next we had punjabi samosa. we also found out that the owner left us a complimenary aloo chaat! lovely gesture with those appetizing starters.
for mains, i had chicken delight curry (yes the name is on point). it was a creamy nut-based curry with aromatic spices, gentle on the stomach, but pleasantly filling. my friend had gosht kada masala and loved it.
we complemented those dishes with white rice as well as plain and butter naans. and for drinks, we had some of our favorites: p&p (pineapple and pomegranate), and mango passion fruit mocktail. very refreshing.
highly recommend this place. after trying most of the big names in abu dhabi serving indian food over the years, mynt has become my favorite place. amazing quality for the price :)
