myles and jun yakitori

my husband and i were visiting for valentines weekend and chose this place for dinner. the reservations were full, but we were welcome to wait for a table. the wait wasn’t very long at all on a friday night. theownerwas greeting customers as well as working along side the other wait staff. the owner, along with our waitress were both very friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. we had the wagyu beef yakitori, which was outstanding! we shared an entree of hibachi steak and chicken. the food was amazing. if we are ever in summerville again, we will be dining again at this establishment, i can’t say enough great things about it!

owner was wonderful! spent my birthday dinner here. bacon wrapped quail eggs are a need to get! if you like sweet things get the sake sangria.ownergave us free sake and a delicious red bean ice cream on honey toast for a little of a wait. well worth any wait that we had!

i absolutely love this hidden jem! the food is always excellent. service is outstanding!!! if you go hear and it is a busy night please be patient, because everything is made fresh and customers take forever to leave because the service is that good....theowneris very gracious, kind, and friendly....she welcomes you with open arms to her establishment.....you can tell that she is very passionate about her business but also the type of experience you have while dining here....love this place

what?  no 10 for this place??  i can't say enough about our visit here.  we went for my birthday dinner, there was four of us girls and it was one of the best dining experiences i've had in ages.  m&j is in and older building in summerville, but once you walk inside it feels very welcoming and cozy.  the staff is very attentive and theowneris there to keep you entertained!  we started with a sample of the house made sake sangaria, which forced us to order a carafe.  it was fruity and light without the slightest hint of sake.  makes that stuff dangerous.  we ordered several things from the menu to share.  lobster rice ball, crispy pork belly, and asparagus beef rolls started us off.  each was better than the other.  for our main courses we had yokohama squid salad, soft shell crab, chicken hibachi and i had a few of the yakatori choices shrimp, chicken and bacon wrapped quail eggs.  we could not stop raving over all of our choices, plates and forks were passed all around the table.  they have an amazing house made rice, sun dried tomato garlic butter.  it was phenomenal!  the evening was rounded off by theownerbringing out a decadent dessert and singing happy birthday to me.  it was quite the experience and i can't wait to go back!

the food was amazing and theownerhad great recommendations for sides with our entrees. recommend the sangria!! it's a relaxing dining experience with delicious food that will leave you wanting more (but also so full)

great food and awesome service!. my husband and i went here for our anniversary dinner! it wasn't our first choice but it should have been! the sangria sake is absolutely fantastic and everyone who works there is helpful and attentive. theownerwas so kind and friendly. i am so glad that we found this restaurant and we've already been back again once since our first visit in june.
the yakitori are awesome! i had never had it before but we got the wagu beef and the pork belly and both were delicious. the wagu beef was our favorite because the meat is so tender it almost melts in your mouth. their specialty rice is also great. it came with my chicken teriyaki and while i couldn't finish all of my chicken i definitely ate all of the rice it was that good!
i would recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for an awesome weekend dinner out! it's probably a little pricey for an everyday kind of visit but certainly an every once in a while stop!

amazing. this place exceeded all of our expectations. i have never been in a place where the staff made you feel so welcome. the food was amazing and the server andownerwere very friendly and took the time to learn our names and i'm 100% they will remember them the next time we come in. and there will certainly be a next time.

wonderful dinner experience!. tonight was our first visit and absolutely will not be our last. our family had a fantastic meal in a warm an inviting environment. the young lady serving us was polite, professional and extremely personable. theownerwas able to make my wife, myself and 3 of our children (ages 5 -14) feel at home from the moment we walked in the door. myles and jun yakitori harkens back to a time when great restaurants not only had great food and spirits but great ambiance, decor and attention to detail. the food was fantastic, each of us ( even my 5 year old ) found the food to be delicious! we loved it and are already looking forward to our next visit!

incredible food & experience!. don't let the location fool you!. myles & jun yakitori is one of the premier restaurants in charleston. we were absolutely astounded by this dining experience. the restaurant has a simple, sleek and clean appearance. theownermyles, takes hospitality to another level. she truly understands how to make her guests comfortable and welcome in her restaurant.
we toured the menu and everything was delicious. the pork belly appetizer was cooked to perfection. crispy on the outside with a delicate tender center. we also had yakitori (spicy beef and salmon) and wagyu beef and short ribs for dinner. the sauces that accompanied each dish were fresh, innovative and delicious. we were so pleasantly surprised about our experience that we're still talking about it. we will definitely be back soon!

a fresh change. pleasantly surprised!! we took our daughter her for her birthday and it was fabulous!!! friendly staff, amazing food. the saki sangria drinks created by theownerwere great. beef and shrimp melted in my mouth. the twist on fried rice was unexpected and delicious. i would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely go back again and again.

amazing! seriously...i have never written a restaurant review in my life despite being a "foodie", but i signed up for urbanspoon just because i feel obligated to spread the word about this fantastic restaurant. my wife and i decided to try something new for our anniversary (with our 3 year old son tagging along). we had passed by recently and it looked interesting so i looked up the menu online and became even more intrigued. when we arrived we were greeted as if we were family and when myles (theownerand hostess extraordinaire) found out that it was our anniversary, we were treated even more like royalty. we got samples galore and a special sweet treat finish to our meal. i swear i told her i would become a walking billboard advertiser if that's what it took to ensure their success. i feel like i owe it to them for their hospitality but also for the decor and food quality. now, the food...unbelievably delicious and beautiful on the plate. we had so much fun trying the yakitori skewers. i could eat the chicken skin skewers every day for the rest of my life. order them crispy and thank me later. the crispy pork belly appetizer was incredibly addicting also. i could write an essay to describe how completely satisfied i was with the whole experience. the waitress was equally as friendly, attentive and knowledgable as myles also. but myles made me wish she was my mother. it was absolutely the best dining experience in my life and i actually mean that. please support this truly unique establishment and i personally guarantee that you won't regret it. and i would bet my house that you'll become a repeat customer. i will be...my wife april and i have already planned what we're ordering next time....

my husband and i just happened to go while looking for a meal out , in town. what an incredible surprise and delight. we had always enjoyed prizzi's ( prior incarnation as a family pizza place) and new that jun and myles were incredible restraunters but were in no way prepared for the incredibly meal , fabulous new interior , and impeccable service. the staff fromownerto server we're so excited to educate you on the style of eating, offer various samples of foods and wines. in a town like charleston, known for its culinary prowess, there is no reason to look farther than this new addition to summerville. everything you could want from a dining experience is there, interesting dishes, elegant presentation , fresh and some rare ingredients , brought together with service and environment. do not wait.
