mugg & bean

my fiancé and i were looking for a good place to enjoy lunch and had decided on mugg & bean.foodwas great, service a bit slow but overall a good experience. will def be visiting again :)

what a very sloppy service we received. my sister asked for emphasized that she wants well done eggs but got runny eggs. i asked for water with no ice , got water with ice. i then asked her to get me without ice since i can't take cold water, then she brought warm water. i think she was really having a bad day.

thefoodwas also very average. i didn't expect avo paste either. i do however like the location of the restaurant. i usually go there for lunch which i think they do better than breakfast.

mugg & bean for dinner tonight! i've walked past this branch so many times and tried it out today out of curiosity. unfortunately, experience was pretty average.

when we arrived we were greeted immediately and seated at a table with some comfy seats in the middle of the restaurant. i liked the modern interior and thought the tables were spaced a good distance away from each other.

the menu is fully halal and boasts a variety of meals. the lunch and dinner menu contains anything from healthy salads in jars to mexican inspired nachos to classic cafe sandwiches and wraps and even hearty meals like soups and pies. my sister and i both had a cheese and steak hoagie which was basically an open sandwich. it was filled generously and the tiny mushrooms were a nice addition... however, the bbq sauce wasn't up to my taste as it was strangely sweet and the steak was chewy. my mom opted for a meatball and pesto hoagie. the meatballs were a winner - tasty, juicy and drenched in a rich tomato sauce. the portion was really big and the bread, filling accompanied by the side of very lovely rosemary salted chips was just too much. my dad went for a vegetarian toasted sandwich with basil pesto, sundried tomatoes, spinach and mozzarella which he enjoyed. the flat white coffees (good old origin blend!) were good. however, the hot chocolate was disappointing.

i have had bad experiences at other m&b branches and waited extremely long forfoodso timed our order this evening. our drinks arrived 2 minutes after we ordered (speedy!) and thefoodarrived 15 minutes after that. 17 minute wait. not bad considering it was a saturday evening and i have waited more than double that at other branches but the place also wasn't busy tonight. our waiter, leaveille, was quiet but polite and efficient.

so thefoodwasn't bad but not great either and the experience was average overall. it hasn't restored my faith in the franchise either.

firstly , i'm so glad there is finally a fully halaal mugg and bean. when i found this out, i knew i had to try theirfoodto see their true potential. firstly, i do feel that they are expensive. i had a burger. and it was good i must say, not really anything to complain about. i enjoyed it. 🍔🍟 the roll was fresh as well as the chicken cooked to perfection. however i would've preferred less lettuce as i felt as if i was just eating leaves. the portion of the fries was average. and i had an ice tea which was pretty good! 🍹

i finally visited this mugg and bean branch since they've become halaal and this was truly one of the best experiences i've had at any mugg and bean.

we were greeted by our very friendly and accommodating waitron, jaco.

my friend and i both ordered the sesame crusted buttermilk chicken burger with rosemary fries. wow... talk about a gourmet burger! the knotted buns were topped with the sesame-crusted buttermilk chicken strips, rainbow slow, grated parmesan, fresh tomato and drizzled with a garlic mayo and honey-lemon citrus reduction. it was absolutely delicious - the flavours worked so well together and the portion size was large - definitely one of the best burgers i've had!

for dessert i had a slice of their lemon meringue. i've always loved mugg and bean's lemon meringue because the actual lemon part is quite tart which works perfectly with the sweet meringue - they get the balance perfect every time and today was no exception.

my friend had a slice of the peppermint crisp cake. for my own personal taste i thought that there was a bit too much cream and too little peppermint crisp / caramel.

overall i had a really great first experience at the branch with greatfoodand even better service (thanks jaco!) - i can see this quickly becoming one of my favourite spots close to him to get a quick meal.

i've been here a few times and the service has always been friendly, andfoodarrived in a timely manner. last night i had the jalapeño stuffed burger and while the patty itself was juicy, i found the full burger itself to be very dry. i recommend the basil and tomato soup as well as the breakfasts.

went once with my wife for a date and the service was speedy and amazing and thefoodwas delicious! had the simple california omlette (twice) both times great service and amazing quality
