favorite place in omaha. lived in omaha for over 7 years and this is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. we do monthly sales trainings with out of town guests for work, and almost always make one dinner at m's part of the agenda. their thai chicken lavosh is amazing, great satays, good wine selection and outstanding desserts (their creme brulee and flourless fudge torte with strawberry sauce are my favorites - yum!) defintely not a roomie place, so make reservations and expect to talk a bit louder over the din, but well worth it.

hot!. we had a group outing this past summer & ate at m's pub. it was so uncomfortably hot in there we didn't enjoy our dinner at all.

best in the old market. i love this place! i make it a point to try something new whenever i come in. coming here with big groups can be difficult, but worth it! the atmosphere is amazing, the service is wonderful, and the food has never failed to impress!

cool place, great food. the menu is rather eclectic, with a little international flair, and offers something for everyone. m's lahvosh (more or less a flat bread pizza) has gotten a lot of praise in these reviews and rightly so. they're all good, especially the thai, with its nice blend of sweet and salty elements. the baked shrimp scampi, which comes swimming in a decadent mix of havarti and butter, is not to be missed as well. i was a little disappointed on my latest visit with the lamb satay (overcooked and dry lamb), but have never been letdown by the rotating list of specials.
service has been decidedly mixed--the staff can be off-putting and snobby or welcoming and professional. prices are wide ranging (less than $10 for sandwiches to over $30 for some of the dinner specials) and seem quite fair for the quality of the dishes.
m's is more upscale than the pub name might imply and would work well for most dining occasions. the ambiance is cool without trying too hard--mixing old market charm and big city sophistication.
overall, m's is one of omaha's best.

time limit on dinner?. a few weeks ago, i had the pleasure of taking two of my closest friends out to eat in the old market area. they were from dallas and i was happy to show them a good time in omaha. we decided to go to m's pub for dinner and the reviews enticed us to see what the experience would be like. we had a reservation made hours in advance and we were told there would be no problem with that time slot we desired.
however, after ordering and eating a very pricey meal, with appetizers, and entrees, we asked about dessert and the waitress informed us that we did not have time for dessert. our "hour and a half" reservation time has "expired".
the manager then came to our table and said that we were well informed that this occurrence would happen. this was the first mention of such a time limit. sad to say that we had to leave the restaurant after paying our $200 bill with no dessert.
this proved to be a disappointing and frustrating experience for myself and my friends from texas. this establishment will never again see myself or my recommendation.

reservation expiration?. after arriving promptly for a 6:15 reservation on our first and only visit to this restaurant, the three of us enjoyed a pricy but enjoyable meal. the shrimp cocktail was way overpriced (2 shrimp for $12), but the lahvosh was very good. at 7:20, following our entrees, we attempted to order dessert but were informed that we would have to vacate as there was a 7:30 reservation for our table. i was shocked, particularly when the manager approached us and confirmed this without compromise.

on a visit to a good, well reputed restaurant such as m's pub, it's reasonable to expect a leisurely meal. 75 minutes for drinks, appetizers, salads, entrees, and dessert is a bit rushed. an hour and a half block for a guest with reservations seems reasonable to me, but under no circumstances should a guest who is still dining and spending money be asked to leave. i wonder if we had walked up without a reservation if we would have been informed there was a time limit on our visit. needless to say, this eclipsed the entire experience and we informed the manager that we would not return under any circumstances.

very cool place to grab a bit downtown. seating is amble but not overly abundant, so make a reservation if you can. there is also a nice little outdoor seating area. i recommend the satay dishes, but the sandwiches and entrees have been good as well. food is moderately priced, but drinks and wine can really inflate the bill. definitely worth eating there.

consistent excellence. i have visited omaha in every year since 1974 and have eaten at m's every visit. it remains the consistently excellent pub that i have loved and introduced my friends to, all these years.

don't know how ann mellon pulls it off, but she runs a great ship.

...i wanted to take my wife out to dinner at a restaurant that embodies omaha. a place that has been a mainstay in omaha for several years, a guaranteed "slam-dunk". as usual, i initiated a grueling internet research session to find the ideal place. after finding out that my first choice was completely booked i had to find someplace else. my second choice was m's pub located downtown at 422 s. 11th street in the old market of omaha, nebraska, which has always intrigued me. first of all my wife, born and reared in omaha, had never been to m's pub before. so i thought it would be perfect for both of us to experience m's pub for the first time. another reason to choose m's was because i have some close friends and family that always go to m's and say a lot of favorable things about their experiences there. i also was drawn to m's because in the past we have naively tried to walk in and get a table on a saturday night only to hear the "it will be an hour wait" s

yummy!. i love ms pub! the lavosh is my favorite appetizer along with the escargot. the soups are always amazing and you have to save room for their yummy desserts. i have never had any problems with the service like some of the other reviews. the servers have always been friendly when i have dined there.

nothing amazing.. loooove the atmosphere, the wait staff could be better, but i just never have exceptional food. i have eaten there probably 40 times since i was younger for family events etc, and the salmon moussiline (if fresh), lavosh, nature sandwich, and salad dressing are the only hits. the proteins and noodles are always over cooked.
