montalto winery has great wine (the pinot was great for this sunny day) and great pizza. both these pizzas were delicious (napoli, buffalo mozzarella & basil ·
roast pork, stracciatella, confit garlic, pickled chilli & chive) .servicewas pleasant. great ambience.

visited with friends for a joint birthday two weeks ago. enjoyed the tasting menu for lunch. absolutely overjoyed with the generosity and variety of delicious dishes that came out, excellentserviceand gorgeous wines. only disappointment were the desserts. the chocolate rum cake was quite tasteless and came out on a plate with no garnish other than a small flower on top and the lavender lemon curd tart had no hint of lavender and was very small. nice coffee though. will definitely return for lunch and a stroll through the vines but will seek out dessert somewhere else.

theserviceis terrible. they need to improve on table seating arrangements. do not come here if you have a big group as they will struggle to seat you. bookings were not available if you had less than 13 adults. it is like they wanted make it difficult for customers and themselves.

food is pretty normal, nothing particularly astounding.

my vegetarian friend and i enjoyed some fabulous dishes, excellent coffee and friendlyservicein this beautiful restaurant in a green setting overlooking hills and vineyards. my friend had the delicious fried haloumi and the warm roast pumpkin salad on a bed of garlic yoghurt with harissa and crunchy deep fried chick peas. i had the very yummy chargrilled squid with mint and pine nuts and the marinated egg plant: both were faultless. generous portions too. i've been here before and i'll go again. one of the delights of the red hill area.

set in a beautiful area of the mornington peninsula, monalto piazza is a gorgeous restaurant set beside the winery. theservicewas fantastic and the staff extremely friendly. the outdoor area is a beautiful place to enjoy some delicious food and a great wine. would definitely recommend the eggplant entree, taleghio pizza, a glass of the house moscato and rhubarb and rose soda.

i rarely give a top score, if ever because i believe there is always room for improvement. but that is not the case with montalto.
the scenery is truely beautiful and so is the estate chardonnay, it is my favourite to accompany any dishes from the piazza menu. i always order the olives and the smoked trout dish, delicious. all the food is divine and it comes out as it’s prepared whilst taking the rolling hills.
on a super busy summers day theservicecan be a bit hit and miss but i never bat an eyelid.
this is a wonderful winery.

i was not a huge fan of montalto, despite the picturesque scenery. the foodservicetook a long time and in the end was kind of disappointing. the wine tasting was extremely rushed due to the place being overly busy. there are so many other places to explore on the peninsula that i would rather go to before heading back here.

what an amazing setting! it was a beautiful day and we loved sitting out in the garden for a wine and some food. we shared the zucchini pizza and and the halloumi dish. we enjoyed both of these, along with our chardonnay and sparkling.
only down side was the service. we were directed to a table to sit at (which was dirty). it took a while for them to clear it and we then had to asked for menus and water. no one came back so we assumed it wasn’t actually tableservice(which it is) so went up to order our drinks and food. the staff were nice, there just wasn’t enough of them.
overall we enjoyed our experience and look forward to coming back

what a beautiful place for a late afternoon lunch - views of the winery, a little garden museum of sculpture and a very relaxed ambience. food is quite delicious, although definitely order a salad for that fish. it needs something to cut through the richness. very friendly staff who deliveredservicethat was outstanding.

we had a really nice dinner here on new years eve taking in the beautiful surroundings. the wine tasting platter was very good, as was the pizza. theservicewas really good and made us feel very welcome.

i left my run far too late to book a table in the restaurant so we had to content ourselves withe the more casual cafe along with what seemed like every single inhabitant of victoria - the 30 minute wait was ameliorated by a stroll through the vineyard sculptures.

we shared a calamari in browned butter and almonds and a margarita pizza and enjoyed both.servicewas friendly and prompt despite the crowds.

great place to stop by for lunch if you're on your way to the hot springs.
very serene and peaceful woth great views of the vineyard.servicewas great and staff were friendly. food came out exceptionally fast (we were starving) and our fav. dish was fish of the day, flounder.
will def. be back for dinner.
