miyabi sushi

superb. had read several conflicting reviews of miyabi...but this is a superb rating. we were seated quickly with attention from the waiter immediate. we started with miso soup, deeply flavorful with crisp, thin, green onion sprinkled on top. this not a thin broth to sip and forget but one to sip and savor.
we enjoyed two different rolls, the rainbow and the miyabi special. just exactly what we came for. impeccably fresh, well presented with not the usual pink ginger but thinly sliced and mildly yellow. we ordered chaiwan muschi...don't grill me on the spelling...a lovely custard-like dish, freshly steamed with shrimp, fish cake and mushroom. don't think dessert custard sweet, think entree custard savory. i have not had much luck finding this at sushi restaurants, and couldn't have been more pleased by their flavorful presentation. we also had an appetizer order of vegetable tempura. what a delight when it is done correctly, crisp batter, delectable shrimp, and a variety of perfectly cooked vegetables.this definitely a go back toplacewe agreed as we waddled out.

best sushi i've had outside of japan! my girlfriend and i had nigiri sushi and four rolls for my birthday, and it was amazing! the mt rainier roll was brilliant, and the nigiri was perfect. the staff was very friendly and sang for me and gave us ice cream... my new favorite sushi place! and who knew there would be a great sushiplacenear a mall?

kicked out of restaurant?. unbelievable. i have never been kicked out of a restaurant - until this place. after eating sushi with 3 friends in less than 30 minutes - we were asked by the waiter to "please vacate the restaurant" because of their long wait line. what the heck? did we not wait to be seated?

what really burns me is they waited until after we paid the bill with tip before asking us to leave. i will never go back to thisplaceagain - and i hope you don't either. you have been warned and fore warned.

if not sushi-you're hosed. i guess if i had ordered the sushi maybe the experience would be different. came in on a thursday evening on a recommendation from my hotel and theplacewasn’t really busy. asked for a table but the wait staff said they had reservations coming in and would i mind sitting at the sushi bar. not great but a basketball game was on so i could manage. i was not in the mood for sushi, so i ordered some yakitori and yakisobi. and i waited and i waited.
30 minutes later no food and no one checking on me. i did not even know who my waitress was since the girl who got my tea had disappeared. i was dropped off the radar. all the while the owners were doing some sort of decorating and renovations behind me that really was annoying. finally got fed up, dropped a couple of bucks for my ice tea and left. found a decent teriyakiplacea few miles down the road so the evening wasn’t a total bust.
