this eatery in south birmingham is as authentic of a southern barbecue joint as i’ve ever experienced, and i’ve experienced a few. i ordered a combination platter of pulled pork and sausages & was overwhelmed with the texture and flavor of each. the pork was so tender, it was almost as if it had been boiled, but of course it was pulled directly from the smoker, with as much flavor as any bbq i’ve ever had in memphis or kansas city. the sausages were delectable, and the two sides i selected were also well prepared and tasty. i ordered two different pieces of pie for later, with the chocolate chess being a typical offering, while the coconut cream was exceptional. i would recommend this restaurant to any carnivore.
