it's the chicken for me.. the pork is really good. it comes in hunks, not chopped and dry like so many do, and has a good flavor on its own. the red sauce is average. i prefer vinegar-based sauces with a kick of afterburn, and miss myra's is tomato-based. it's not too sweet, which makes it palatable for me. (i'm more of a savory girl.) but the true gems here are the chicken and white sauce. when i'm at a bbq place, i tend to think pork and beef (i know, beef bbq is sacrilege in the south). when it comes to miss myra's, i'm all about the chicken. i don't think i've ever had chicken with such a tasty, smokey flavor. and so juicy! the white sauce is right up my savory taste bud alley.
the green beans are those flat, thick beans cooked southern-style until soft. they are really quite good, as long as you're not a haricot vert fanatic. the potato salad is good, but i'm not a potato salad afficianado. (i prefer german-style potato salad.) i don't care for the coldslaw. i thought i would since it's not creamy, but i found it to be bland. the banana pudding is a true southern treat. there's no instant pudding there. no sir! in fact, it's still warm when it comes to you. chunks of banana and real egg white meringue.... mmmmmm!
the perfect miss myra's meal for me is the chicken with green beans and potato salad. and, of course, banana pudding for dessert. yum!
