barbeque-tastic. came running back tomissmyra’s pit barbecue after a horrible experience at saws in homewood.missmyra's has been our fall back q joint since their roundtree days. can always count on delicious and reliable bbq. my boy has loved this place since his youth.
we arrived hungry yet composed, knowing exactly what we wanted. we decided to share a half chicken, large chopped pork plate and rib plate, accompanied by baked beans, green beans, coleslaw, deviled eggs and potato salad. we were more than ready when our food arrived.
miss myra’s undoubtedly has the leanest and most succulent pulled/chopped pork in alabama, i defy you to find a bite of fat. their chicken is moist, plump and completely penetrated with smoky flavor. the ribs are huge, bristling with meat and the perfect pull off the bone texture, not to mention fully encrusted with delicious bark. any ofmissmyra’s meats are complimented by their tangy sweet red sauce, but the real star of the show is their legendary white sauce, savor it with the smoked chicken, or the ribs.... or on a napkin, lol. no overcharge on the white sauce, at every table and they will give you the recipe.
the sides atmissmyra’s are straightforward comfort food. the wide, flat-style green beans have a meaty, bacon flavor; the coleslaw is a uniformly diced vinegar slaw. the baked beans are thick, sweet and wonderfully rich (not as good as johnny ray's but good), the potato salad is of the mashed variety as opposed to chunked and in a dressing. the deviled eggs are a tasty bite but nothing special, we make better at home.
miss myra’s is barbecue epitomized, they serve plentiful, delicious food for modest prices in a friendly, bare bones and above all unpretentious environment. the food is consistently made with love, by a family that’s been selling bbq since 1985. come givemissmyra’s a try and you’ll find that it’s not so hard to polish off a rack of their ribs, or at least a bottle of white sauce.

roundtrees. still the leanest pulled pork available in bham. it is an old place with a very old atmosphere, but take out is great and the prices on the family pack are very fair.
