miller's ale house - mandarin

don't go!. for years our family ate at the ale house at least once per week. in 2013, maybe a little before that, food quality and service declined. after multiple attempts to "give it another try", we gave up. we
refuse to continue to patronize a restaurant with poor quality food.

awesome ! awesome ! awesome ! excellent service and the food was absolutely wonderful . this is the best ale house ! keep up the good work and the manager was great and extremely professional !!

ratchet. we have never had bad food here. the food is always good and the prices are good. sometimes the wait staff is not the best; however, they always will get the job done.

we eat there often!

solid for a burger and a beer. plenty of beer options and the burgers are solidly done.. a great place for a casual dinner with friends. we can count on that here.

i'm going to cut straight to the point. ordered a filet mignon, medium. came out well done. manager with brown curly hair (unknown name) came over to apologize and offer desert on her. second steak was better, but unevenly cooked and not blackened. the yellow rice was as hard as a rock, first and second time. manager came back over a little while after, fully equipped with an attitude and a fake smile now stating that the steak was "now on her". would have been nice without the poor acting skills. server however, stephanie, was friendly and polite the entire time. definitely no more steaks here. i'll still to a yuengling and loaded fries. that's not difficult right? oh and and i can't forget the young blonde hostess that must have gotten dumped by her boyfriend everyday before she comes to work and obviously & purposely forgets who was waiting to be seated first. yes, i noticed.

burger was awesome!. had dinner with a friend here the other night and it was a great experience. started off with a yuengling and the loaded cheese fries...perfect! i had the build your own burger (cheese & bacon on a roll, blackened) and it was one of the best burgers i have ever had! the onion rings were cooked perfectly and i wish i had room to eat them all. our waitress was awesome and came to check on us at least 5 times, which is pretty rare these days. the last few times i've been to an ale house, including this one, our experience wasn't that great. but this time around, it couldn't have been better. i hope our next visit is as good as this one!

large menu, consistently good.

best french onion soup. when you're looking for a delicious french onion soup, miller's ale house in mandarin is the best in town. there is definitely sherry in the recipe. the cheese is always perfectly melted and the flavor of the soup is perfect. i always order this when i go...particularly in the winter months. my favorite entree is the fish n' chips. in fact, any seafood dish at ale house is delicious -- try the fish tacos too. my son is addicted to anything with zingers, an ale house specialty, the hotter the better. they give you enormous glasses of sweet or unsweet tea. the burgers are delicious, and the rib eye sandwich is excellent. there is great variety and ample portions. you can't go wrong if you try the specials too. for a less expensive visit, go at lunch and get their lunch specials.

good food. unprofessional staff.. i don't think the wait staff realizes just how loud they are and how clearly the customers are able to hear them when they are in the kitchen and prep areas. two girls carried on about an intimate encounter one of them had the night before. then another goes on to announce how bad her "cramps" are. i was very disgusted by the lack of professionalism.

that being said...

the food has always been hot and fresh here. servings are huge. it will take quite awhile for the food to get to your table, but when it does, you will be happy. my favorite item is the zinger mountain melt. you will definitely like the place as long as you don't sit next to the kitchen...or if you are deaf...

always good food at the ale house. miss craig as the manager. be careful of the blond behind the bar for drinks, she's famous for cutting people off before they even had a few!!! very famous for that , according to sources and once myself!!!

went tonight and waited over 40 min for us food. then i guess i had not learned my lesson yet and i ordered dessert. waited another 28 min for a cup of ice cream. seriously???? 28 mim for a cup of ice cream??? spoke to carl, the manager, and he did not give 2 #$%& about our wait or bad service. will definately not be going back. have not had this bad service in a long, long time.

comfortable. we went to miller's ale house on saturday night and while we had a wait for a table it was still a great experience. i had the zinger club sandwich and it was extremely large and very very good. a sandwich with chicken, ham, bacon, cheese (all the food groups) and on ciabatta bread hits the mark. my husband had the prime rib sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. the service was very good and the atmosphere is always inviting.

never had a bad meal. chicken nachos are great along with the big read , the onion rings and the wings you gotta love them , the place to go for consistancy in jacksonville .

good sports bar. the chicken nachos are quick and tasty and feed 3 comfortably for a total of $7.

a couple dollars for a drink and you have a decent lunch for $7-8!
