great for a special occasion. we had our fifteenth wedding anniversary dinner at meritage last evening.

granted, it's pricey but this was a special occasion. they've done a great job with the old building; it's contemporary and comfortable. i had the linguini with shrimp, fresh garlic and pesto. it was quite excellent. joyce had the petit filet and twice baked potato...the filet was larger than "petit" and was perfect! the server was extremely attentive, professional and friendly. our only negative comments; the water tasted like tap water and the wine, while excellent, was expensive...$9.00 for a glass of house wine? otherwise, it was anexcellentexperience. oh...we had the creme brulet for dessert and loved it. deano

great meal with entertainment. we ate at the bar. great atmosphere and service from gordon the bartender. we talked to the general manager matt who was very friendly and accommodating. i had the pork chop dinner and my wife had the fish special. the food wasexcellentand prepared just as we ordered. we finished up with drinks and peanut butter pie as we listened to dave the entertainment on the acoustic guitar play great music.

my wife and i came in with another couple for dinner monday night. this was our second visit and it was perfect just like the first. the half price wine on mondays is a great deal. the food wasexcellentand our server, matt, was nothing short of perfect. we will be back for the food and his service again.

bland. meritage has been recommended many times by friends and i thought i would try it. service was great and very attentive but upon the third time asking if i was ready to order it got a bit to intrusive, the place was not overly busy and there was no need for our table. the salad arrived, but the bacon accompaniment was not fresh and tasted almost rancid. i had ordered the chicken breast which was well presented but lacked seasoning. very bland and pretty tasteless. (thank goodness for a pepper grinder on the table)
after all the word on the street and reviews, i believe that the proper chef was not here on a monday night.
sad birthday meal. great wine prices (half off mondays) andexcellentservice.

very nice. went here for dinner. there were 4 of us and all of our meals were well prepared. the service was alsoexcellent(thanks andrea!). the setting was very clean, fresh and relaxed. only one gripe--the scallop appetizer ($12) had only 2 moderately sized scallops. for the cost there should have been more. beyond that, however, it was a good adventure and i would recommend it.

surf and turf wasexcellenton my first visit. tonite the grouper was well prepared and a nice portion. cara in the bar was very pleasant as well...
