i booked in advance for my birthday brunch and i was really excited to try this place out since it had so many good reviews, only to be very disappointed.

first impression of this place was not great. i found the manager/host really rude and stand-offish when i asked politely
if it would be possible to move to a different table. it got worse,
while ordering our food, i mentioned to our server that my friend is highly allergic to basil and if we could substitute certain ingredients. he didn’t really listen so i had to mention it again and tell him to please make sure there’s no basil because she will end up in hospital. one of the kitchen staff brought us our food and made a joke about there being basil in all the foods and laughed i told him i didn’t find it funny. i asked the server as i was concerned and told me he was only joking. having allergies is not a joke, someone’s life is at stake. i will not eat there again, they lack customer service and the quantity of the food is not worth the price.

such a good brunch, really enjoyed the breakfast stack and the whole atmosphere of the restaurant. was very affordable and the wait staff were really polite.

budha bowl was just average. it just needed something else. maybe avo, coriander or pickled red cabbage would give it a bit of zing.

the signature hot chocolate was absolutely fantastic and i would definitely return to drink it again!! what i would not return for is the bad taste of the french toast...it was sour, eggy, definitely not sweet enough and the balance of flavours was all wrong. i told the staff this and they kindly replaced it for some pancakes...the balance of flavours in the pancakes was also off and they had some weird things on them...like pumpkin seeds!? not to my liking at all

great cafe in mornington that consistently does good food and coffee. they are always adding new things to the menu which is good for returning customers. service is generally quick, however, at busy times you may have to wait.

great place, great ambience, great service and even more phenomenal are their buttermilk pancakes! easily the best i have had so far! i am glad i decided to go to this place in my 10days of holiday in melbourne. highly recommended!

we went here with high hopes. i ordered the breakfast stack with no chorizo and mushrooms as a replacement.
my partner ordered the avocado smash. for $17 one would expect a decent piece of toast if one piece or two regular pieces of toast. this avo smash came with a tiny slice that was clearly the end piece. the avocado itself was good however such a measly serve made it a letdown. we ordered the chips also and they were good accompanied by a delicious garlic aioli. the breakfast stack was what really let the meal down. it states poached eggs, avocado, spinach on potato rosti with tomato basil and red onion salsa. whilst the presentation was great, the potato rosti was gluggi flavourless and heavy. it needed to be deep fried and contain less flour as it was the base for the entire dish and really needed some crunch rather than stodge. the mushrooms that i got as an addition were well cooked and tasty. the poached eggs were also perfectly cooked with runny yolk. the meal was just poorly balanced. the bulk of the dish was potato rosti and boiled spinach. the spinach overpowered the dish and would probably of been better with 1/3 of the amount and perhaps sautéed with a bit of olive oil for more flavour. it really just needed some balance and more flavour. the dish would be much more favourable with a crunchy rosti and less spinach and more balance. i’m sure the chefs can cook well as the eggs were so wonderful which really was why i didn’t go make a complaint as i am not a confrontational person. it is really just the actual dish that needs developing and it is a shame as i had had really high hopes for this meal. the coffee was good and i did like their seating and back courtyard. hopefully others have a better experiance.

great coffee and buzzing atmosphere. seems to be a hot spot for locals. efficient staff and a lot of room for families or couples out for a brunch with the place extending far back offering more seating areas out the back. just on main street in mornington.

great place for brekkie or lunch, buttermilk pancakes and french toast were both delicious! the coffee was good, it just could have been hotter. really nice outdoor seating area and super friendly service, very welcoming and accommodating. awesome experience overall.

amazing hot choc! we sat outside and were stoked that there was blankets to keep us warm. the food and coffee’s took more than 45 mins, granted they were busy but was well worth the wait.

i’m in love!! the food here is absolutely incredible! it did take a while to come out but it was worth the wait!😋 they have the best hot chocolates ever! all the food is presented so beautifully.

booked mercetta for part of my friends hens weekend and it was so great! we had around 20 girls come & sat in the lovely outside area- across 2 booths comfortably. the staff were really friendly & the food tasted amazing. i had the corn fritters & they were so good! also in the lead up to it, the staff were great at communicating with us & were super easy to work with
would defs recommend this place if you’re looking for either a place for a group booking or a coffee catch up!

i've tried mercetta many times and kept making excuses for the shocking service, but i've given up now. the staff literally ignore you when you go in. it takes way too long for them to take your order (which is normally just a simple chai) and then too long for it to be delivered. for a "quick" coffee break from work, it turns out to be an unacceptable outing! there seems to be plenty of staff, but none who are prepared to acknowledge you. in fact there is a lot of "nothing" happening. i won't be going back. there are too many exceptional cafe's in mornington, so there is no need to put up with this bad customer service.
