mei wei bistro

we dropped into mei wei on a whim and were pleasantly surprised! the staff were friendly and were willing to answer questions if we had any, which we did!
 we ordered 4 dishes, which was plenty, and we had plenty left over! 
 the dishes were lean, where there was meat( bbq'd pork), we had vegetables, which were cooked properly, the noodles were great and the chicken balls were good!
 i will certainly go back and try more dishes!
 the prices are very reasonable and theservicewas decent! the place is not fancy, but, usually has asians eating, which indicates good food!

i'm a regular at this restaurant, and i usually order the same thing. but today, when i ordered one of their classics the employee who took my order didn't give me the right one, claiming "there are many like it" on the menu but when i checked it over there was only the one. i fairly enjoyed coming to this restaurant to eat and i don't know if it was the heat from today and the time but theservicei received today was awful. he allowed me to have my correct order, but said he had to charge me an extra $5.00 which i was fine with, but the simple math itself didn't add up because my original total was $25, but he was charging me $28. when asked what the extra was for, the employee got defensive and said "if [i] didn't like it to just not order" next time. i've never been treated so unfairly before so i just left. i'm sorry what was made wasn't my order, but i did not deserve to be yelled at that way. it was unprofessional. not saying i wouldn't eat there again, but probably not for a while.

recently we went out for supper to the mei wei bistro at 4626 albert street. it is a relatively new establishment and a welcome addition to the south end of the city. five of us enjoyed generous servings of ginger beef , chicken balls, sliced beef chow fun , chicken beef broccoli, and shanghai noodles. there was much to choose from on the menu. everything looked appealing. theservicewas quick and efficient. the food tasty and hot. the restaurant is neat, clean and new in appearance. they also have a bakery on the premises and offer a varied take out menu. the restaurant was busy. the staff were friendly and courteous. it is definitely worth trying.

spiked. i went with two friends for to check out he place. i will most definitely be eating here again. theservicewas good the waitress was very attentive, the food was great and a lot of it as well. the price was fair and worth it. went in the evening and the lighting was a bit bright for my liking but other than that was a good meal.

i have to disagree with kismias306 as well. theservicewas fast and friendly. while it isn't the best chinese in regina it was still quite tasty. the hot and sour soup was very good. the sweet and sour pork was excellent. usually s&s pork has way more fat and gristle but this was nice and tender. the rice and veggies were both good and the spring rolls were delicious. the chicken balls do need some work. too much ball not enough chicken. would definitely eat there again.

second chance. well, i tried to give them a second chance... the food was better this time, but theservicewas still really bad. i didn't have the duck this time, i had more mainstream food. but the entree's still came out before the fresh rolls or dumplings.

awful service! was served iced tea instead of iced coffee and then i was argued with and told it was "hong kong" iced coffee. when i approached another waiter i was apologized to. the bbq duck was all bones and dryer than an over cooked turkey. how do you cook duck so much it becomes dry? our appetizers came out 11 minutes after our entres. the fresh rolls were so poorly rolled that they completely fell apart when picked up. they will not get any of my money again and i will surely let all my friends know.
