mei wei bistro

it's a busy place we came around lunch time but was seated quickly, there's a glass display around the cashiers area where they also have baked goods. the food comes at a fairly quick pace, and the menu is big. my husband had their hong kong style won ton soup which he liked and i had the three meats on rice ( bbq pork, crispy pork belly and soya sauce chicken) it was a big dish i wish i had ordered veggies because it only came with two flowers of broccoli. it was ok but badly needed some sauce and veggies. servers were good and ambiance was relaxed. i would love to come back and try the other dishes. it was reasonably priced also.

the place looks very clean and, in addition to the dining tables, has a small bakery counter where they sell cake slices (e.g., mango and manga). we did not try the cakes but tried their noodles. the chow fun with beer were definitely above average. the shanghai and singapore noodles were average. that said, this is in our opinion one of the best places to get chinese food in south regina.

worst place ever...we waited 20 mins and no body came to get our order until we call a server and asked. server was very rude and unpolite. asked a question about the menu.he didn't even answer and left.he came back and got our order.after ordering we waited nother 30 mins and no food came.it was the limit. we request to speak with a manager and a server came to us by saying he's the manager. we told him about the situation and he rudely replied to us "so what do u want me to do, we r busy".he did not even apologize for the situation or offer to correct it.when we said we r leaving he was like okk go...do not go to this place if you r looking for good food and service. worst restaurant in regina.

their food is great but most of their staff/servers are rude. they often give us attitude whenever me and my family goes to eat there. there's one time we ordered crispy chicken and halfway eating, we notice there's still blood in some part and we let them know. one of the staff said "sometimes that happens, we'll just have to deep fry it again". why would he say that as if that's acceptable and normal? my family could've been sick. we didn't get to finish our meal that day. also my sister had a bad experience eating there, she and her husband decided to buy bubble tea, she said what she wanted and without waiting for her husband's order the staff walked away. their food is ok tho, i'd probably eat again but only for take out.

love mei wei! we routinely eat in as well as pick up, and the food is consistently delicious. my personal favourite is the malaysia fried rice noodle, but i've never had a bad meal. their bubble teas are a fantastic addition to the meal, and the bakery items are delicious as well. this is definitely one of our favourite restaurants in the city.

excellent food!!! this is definitely our favourite place to eat when we come to regina. the hot and sour soup is superb and we just tried the spicy pork belly tonight - fabulous!

we dropped into mei wei on a whim and were pleasantly surprised! the staff were friendly and were willing to answer questions if we had any, which we did!
 we ordered 4 dishes, which was plenty, and we had plenty left over! 
 the dishes were lean, where there was meat( bbq'd pork), we had vegetables, which were cooked properly, the noodles were great and the chicken balls were good!
 i will certainly go back and try more dishes!
 the prices are very reasonable and the service was decent! the place is not fancy, but, usually has asians eating, which indicates good food!

maybe i ordered the wrong thing? i was here last night and had won ton soup, bbq ribs, and bbq duck.

the soup had zero flavor, maybe 8 won tons, a tablespoon of chives, and two prices of broccoli... not much effort.

the duck and ribs were both extremely fatty (none have been cut away or cooked off) and again without much flavor. 

the search for palatable asian food in regina enters its second year...

love it here! great milk tea! always recommend friends coming here for the milk tea and the buns they have - it's so gooood! !
also, i really like their chinese food selections too, the soups were my favourite!

had the beef chow fun, very tasty and served wok hot with just the right spice

ditto the hot and sour soup, i had the small which was enough for 4 people, soup for lunch as well! nicely spiced and again served hot

other reviews show delivery a challenge so eat in (not licensed) or take away is recommended

i'm a regular at this restaurant, and i usually order the same thing. but today, when i ordered one of their classics the employee who took my order didn't give me the right one, claiming "there are many like it" on the menu but when i checked it over there was only the one. i fairly enjoyed coming to this restaurant to eat and i don't know if it was the heat from today and the time but the service i received today was awful. he allowed me to have my correct order, but said he had to charge me an extra $5.00 which i was fine with, but the simple math itself didn't add up because my original total was $25, but he was charging me $28. when asked what the extra was for, the employee got defensive and said "if [i] didn't like it to just not order" next time. i've never been treated so unfairly before so i just left. i'm sorry what was made wasn't my order, but i did not deserve to be yelled at that way. it was unprofessional. not saying i wouldn't eat there again, but probably not for a while.

pack your leftovers by yourself at the table.. good food. we always buy more than we can eat. so we can take the leftover home to eat the next day. except there have been numerous times when we had our food packed by the young female waitress that we are missing quite a bit of our special chow fun and also some of crispy pork too. i would recommend you packed the good yourself at the table to make sure you get everything you paid for!! my family knows the owners mother and sons and hopefully will put the end of food stealing from there staff. otherwise food is very good.

the food at this restaurant is really good and we have been happy with it each time we have ordered. however after our most recent experience we will not be ordering from them again. after waiting over 2 hours for our food to be delivered we called to see where it was. waiting 2 hours is more than being patient we felt. although they had our correct address it had not been communicated to the delivery driver. we then had to receive 4 phone calls from this driver who continued to drive to the wrong place after being given the address 3 times. when we called regarding a discount or receiving our order free we were offered only 10% off and told they couldn't do any more because the boss wasn't there. is there not always a manager around at a business? when the driver arrived we were on the phone with the restaurant who refused to offer any acceptable compensation. our food arrived cold and two and a half hours late. after we said we wanted half off we were told fine but they would never deliver to our area again. poor way to try and keep business. it's a shame because the good is good!

not for vegetarians. their vegetarian selection is incredibly small, mostly just steamed vegetables and little variation. when i asked the waitress to make me a noodle dish with vegetables and black bean sauce she laughed awkwardly as if it was the weirdest thing she ever heard. the whole experience was awkward and uncomfortable, they should have kept that waitress in the back and they need more things that non-meat eaters can order!
