words fail to describe.... how wonderful it is! it's a mecca for foodies. it's outta this world. don't bother flying to rome--going to mazzaro's is like going into an italian grotto. one that's filled with affordable numnums that will make you feel like that cartoon dog from the 1960's that floated in the air whenever he ate something good.

who ever heard of dried prosciutto? it was the first thing i grabbed. omg it's like bacon candy. i could eat a whole tub.

we spent less than $100 and got tons of amazing products, including 3 or 4 types of cheese, fresh pastas, two kinds of pasta sauces, smoked fish spread (only $4.99) beer cheese/vegetable soup, belgian ale, fentiman's soda, pierogis (fresh), freshly made halva (the best i've ever tasted), a loaf of fresh bread, and i forget what all else.

it was indeed a madhouse on a saturday afternoon so i did not get to try any of the deli selections. it was like being in nyc. but i plan to return on monday morning to have coffee and a sfioiadelle (sp?) or some other tasty pastry. thisplaceknocks the socks off morton's in sarasota, formerly my favorite fl grocery store. this is the real deal. it even beats zabar's or dean & deluca. does zabar's even exist any more? i haven't been to nyc in 20 years.

my god, i love this place. a huge wine selection, fresh meats, cheeses, and made from scratch pasta. you can barely move with all the people and for good reason. this is one of the best little italian style markets i have ever been to before. thousands of products and rare items are available for sale. the only bad side is the lack of parking outside. this is aplaceto add to your list.

awesome spot, great vibe! thisplacegets packed on a weekend during lunch time so i would recommend going for breakfast. the market is filled with my favourite things to devour like cheeses, meats, breads, wines and tones more!

the coffee here is on the best i've had had a in st pete so far, full bodied with an amazing aroma! to eat i got a club sandwich and the wife got a parmesan and eggplant sandwich. the bread was fresh and soft, as expected!

the market items were a little pricey but it's understandable being a niche spot.

had a great visit to the market. we first sat at the coffee bar and had well crafted lattes to go along with an amazing pastry. we purchased the tiramisu to go along with other items. really impressed with the quality of their items and the vibe theplacehas. we were a little early for lunch, but the food smelled and looked great coming out of the sandwich shop.

there are so many better choices in town.  we were not impressed at all with this place.  we wound up throwing the lasagna out.  we tried to add our own touches, but honestly, encore frozen lasagna is much better tasting which isn't saying much.  the meats and cheeses are old and you're lucky if the meat lasts until the next day.  i don't get how thisplacegets so busy, it must be the trendyplaceto go.

hey - i have visited thisplacefor many many years - living only blocks away from it - i decided long ago that it was waaayy over priced - over rated - over crowded ! i love their breads - and this is the best bread in town and a value at the reasonable prices  they charge - only $.50 =$1.00 more than what you would pay for a loaf at the super market that has no where near the same quality or taste or presentation.  the round 'star' loaf is beautiful and the best !now - for the rest..i have purchased various ready mades from the deli -including lasagna varieties and lots more. for the price of a square (approx. $6-7) - not worth the price - for a few more bucks you can go get nice fresh (not reheated)  hot lasagna (2 x he portion size)with bread,  salad , soups etc at olive garden at a nice sit down table with great waiters - you can get more & better & fresher pasta at any number of local italian restaurants italia mia, cd romas  etc  for cheaper ! as for the bakery - well they make some yummy looking stuff for a hefty price - but buyer beware! my fiance just bought a cannoli cake from them 07/25/2015  for a party - i was amazed that the cannoli shells were filled with whip cream ! - i could not find one bit of ricotta cheese  in the cannoli shells - nothing but cheap white cake - cannoli shells , whip cream and chocolate morsels ! at $22 this cake was a complete rip off!!! nuff said ?

mazzaro's offers by far the most comprehensive array of italian foods, beverages and ingredients that i have ever seen in north america. this is aplaceyou can visit and end up spending half the day. the coffee bar is incredible and the pastry selection mind boggling, but they also make sandwiches, they have amazing cheeses, house made and imported pastas, all manner of canned goods and tinned seafood, fresh produce and of course wine. this is a must visit market, just plan to spend a while - especially if you stop in during lunchtime as you won't be there alone!

our first time visit was impressive in terms of portions & prices. both were generous. the downside was "it was our first time"

pull up their menu on their website, & know what you're going to order because they have no printed menus. you have to try to read the offerings on the wall high up over the counter 2-3 rows back...deep in the crowd.

the sammy fish sandwich (only available on fridays) was fresh, but dry. it was advertised as having a creamy sauce but all i saw was a smidge of tartar sauce at the bottom of the thick, dried out bun.

did i mention that theplacewas packed. lunch hour during the week is not the time to go. also reconnoiter the place, & in particular, locate where the condiments are because you may want something to moisten your dried out sandwich...there is no waite staff.

it's shear chaos your first time. i'd be willing to give it another try in the future; my wife wouldn't. she will not eat cooked food that is not hot, so after getting her hot sandwich at the "sandwich station", & then going out onto the patio to stand in another line (to pay), & then looking for the condiment station, her sandwich wasn't so hot any more. she was not amused w/ the fractionally of the place.

if you are from the northeast as i am(new york), you probably miss the great italian bakeries that you had on almost every block in the urban area. good luck finding one down here as prior to discovering this gem, publix was the closest i've found. thisplaceis the real deal. excellent cannoli's, cheeses, etc. just be prepared to wait in line!

take money!. you could go broke in theplacewith all the deli meats, cheeses and salads. you walk in and the aroma of the deli food just overwhelms you and you get hungry instantly. walking around, you see so many things that you don’t see in the usual grocery store. coffee is their #1 thing as they no only have coffee from other companies ready to sell, but they roast their own coffee and bag it for sale.

seasonings and spice are also big here and the deli is aplaceyou could try so much and never try it all.

a visit is the only way to appreciate the store and what it has to offer.
