really unique italian market with a phenomenal deli counter, coffee bar and bakery. the food was easily the best of our trip and the entire meal for 2 people was $16. we are going back for lunch again today before we fly home.

i've had a lot of sandwiches so far in life (huge fan of delis in ny). hands down, best hot italian out there. where else can you get two awesome sandwiches, wine and chorizo for tomorrows dinner for $26? that's not even covering their crazy market selection, dessert and seafood counters.

popular selections include the muffuletta (ham, mortadella, salami, pepperoni, and provolone), the huge meatball sub with sauce, the ever changing sandwich of the week, and friday's big fish sandwich (tomato, romaine lettuce, onion, provolone, and caribbean sauce or lemon basil romelade sauce). keep reading for tips on how to get your sandwich order quickly.

good place-however. mazzaro's truly is is a good place, but anyone saying it's the best in the bay area or south of chicago has never been to castellano and pizo in tampa. castellano has the best sausage around, better than mazzaro's and for half the price. for many years castellano's won the best cuban sandwich in tampa bay. i personally think they still do. i moved to st pete beach 4 years ago and miss castellanos, i stop in when work takes me to tampa.

this is not meant to be a dig at mazzaro's.

about once a week, i come here to eat lunch, replenish my supply of cheese and wine, and order something from the deli or meat counter to take home for supper. sometimes i go just to loiter over espresso and soak up the ambiance. i think, it's the overwhe

words fail to describe.... how wonderful it is! it's a mecca for foodies. it's outta this world. don't bother flying to rome--going to mazzaro's is like going into an italian grotto. one that's filled with affordable numnums that will make you feel like that cartoon dog from the 1960's that floated in the air whenever he ate something good.

who ever heard of dried prosciutto? it was the first thing i grabbed. omg it's like bacon candy. i could eat a whole tub.

we spent less than $100 and got tons of amazing products, including 3 or 4 types of cheese, fresh pastas, two kinds of pasta sauces, smoked fish spread (only $4.99) beer cheese/vegetable soup, belgian ale, fentiman's soda, pierogis (fresh), freshly made halva (the best i've ever tasted), a loaf of fresh bread, and i forget what all else.

it was indeed a madhouse on a saturday afternoon so i did not get to try any of the deli selections. it was like being in nyc. but i plan to return on monday morning to have coffee and a sfioiadelle (sp?) or some other tasty pastry. this place knocks the socks off morton's in sarasota, formerly my favorite fl grocery store. this is the real deal. it even beats zabar's or dean & deluca. does zabar's even exist any more? i haven't been to nyc in 20 years.

twice on our vacation. we flew into tampa and drove to saint pete beach. we stopped on the way to the beach and on the way back to the airport. the made-to-order deli sandwiches are consistently wonderful. we ate our sandwiches at the coffee shop. the decaf coffee was delicious. they have a ton of fresh pastas and cold bottle beers to choose from. saturday late morning/early afternoon is hectic and crowded but they have 4 check-out lines that are speedy.

good stuff. mazzaro's is the mecca for st. pete foodies. they have great coffee and baked goods. the sandwiches are top notch and the meat counter beats any butcher shop in town. if you go, you do need to get out of there by noon. once noon arrives, hordes of unwashed yuppies and old retired yankees descend into the place.

they will push you out of their way as they try to get the last cannoli out of the counter. they act as if you are not there and the world spins around them. once again, great food but the customers need to be dropped into the bay with cement shoes.

my god, i love this place. a huge wine selection, fresh meats, cheeses, and made from scratch pasta. you can barely move with all the people and for good reason. this is one of the best little italian style markets i have ever been to before. thousands of products and rare items are available for sale. the only bad side is the lack of parking outside. this is a place to add to your list.

hard not to give this a 5.0. authentic italian everything. it is a grocery store, wine bar, cheeses, deli and bakery. everything you would expect including pizza. outside undercover dining. just order what you want, pay at the register and go.

chill bella!

a theme park for italians like myself, mazzaro's is a foodie heaven whether you consider your ancestors to have come from the "old country" or not.  wait in line for one of their fantastic sandwiches and leave with a cart full of wine, freshly made sausage, and other italian delights for the remainder of the weekend.

i love mazzaro's and have been going here for years. my favorite part of mazzaro's is the bakery. their cookies and focaccia bread are fantastic, but i must say that i wasn't a fan of their cannolis. the prepared food and sandwich is full of variety and everything is so fresh and good quality. you cannot create your own sandwich. in the prepared foods i would not recommend the chicken parmesan - it just wasn't my taste. the cheese selection over by the wine is excellent. one the employees recommended to me the butterkäse cheese and it delicious! mazzaro's should definitely be destination for you whether you're a tourist or local!

awesome spot, great vibe! this place gets packed on a weekend during lunch time so i would recommend going for breakfast. the market is filled with my favourite things to devour like cheeses, meats, breads, wines and tones more!

the coffee here is on the best i've had had a in st pete so far, full bodied with an amazing aroma! to eat i got a club sandwich and the wife got a parmesan and eggplant sandwich. the bread was fresh and soft, as expected!

the market items were a little pricey but it's understandable being a niche spot.
