mazzaro's italian market

a local gem!. wow. this place is epic. the grilled caprese sandwhich was one of the best sandwhiches i have ever had in my life. and the espresso they roast on site was like rich dark chocolate. it was very busy, even in the middle of a tuesday afternoon, and i can see why! i feel so blessed to live within biking distance of this place! produce prices were actually cheaper than publix, and so much of what they offer is hand made from scratch on site.

this is largely a market, with many prepared food items to take home. but they also have a deli (hence the sandwhich) a bakery, a wine and cheese room. this place is truly a treasure. bring your patience with you and it will be worth it!!

great market with really good products. i wish there was in orlando. :(

a great market and restaurant. i could spend hours here browsing and shopping - weekday mornings, if possible. saturday is pretty crazy. it's also a nice little restaurant. it has a place where you can order and pick up your food, and a place where you can sit down and eat it - same as any other deli or cafeteria-style operation. it's cheap eats, not fine dining, and it's also a "super" market!

great!!!. if you haven't been here your missing out. i just wish they were open on sundays.

all-time list. this is quite possibly my new favorite place in the entire bay area and all of florida. i felt like a child seeing disney world for the first time. after a year of dying to try this place i went in short on time just to grab a sandwich and scope out the buzz...i was blown away. every section of the market was a new discovery. everything is made in house including fresh pastas, pastries, hand cut meats, and sausages. i expected that at an independent place like this where anything that isn't packaged is made fresh and from scratch the cost would be a couple more $/lb than at a grocery store. i was shocked that a lot of the things were the same price at publix or even a little cheaper. i only had 20 minutes to spend and planned on only buying a sandwich but i walked out with 8 items for $40 and an excitement for the next time i will be able to return.

community resource. i love mazzaros. we get alot of our dinners here. the precooked food is always ready to pick up and is good tasting and healthy. wonderful bakery. the bread is the best! i've been going here for years...never had a bad experience. in my opinion, there's nothing else like it in tampa bay.

excellent!. the entire experience was absolutely delightful. any gourmet item you could think of. the lattes were prepared beautifully and no modifications were needed once served ( milk, sugar, etc). the sandwiches were also fantastic. ordered and prepared in traditional deli style, the food was perfect. i ordered the cajun fish sandwich and was surprised how great the food was considering it wasnt exactly traditional deli fair, this might be a place one might opt to go to due to distance but i implore anyone in the tampa bay region to visit

a weekend oasis. everyone should visit mazzaro's at least once. i'm sure once you do however, that you will be coming back for more! i don't live close, but my family and i make it a habit to get down there as often as possible, especially on the weekends when we can take our time wandering the aisles. the is such special place because it really does feel like a tiny italian get away in the middle of st pete urban sprawl.
my advice: tour the store slowly. inspect every lucious bottle of olive oil and sample every waxy and pungent cheese you can get your hands on! then head back to the fresh foods counter and order something for lunch, and pick something to get wrapped up for dinner! after savoring every delicate morssel of italian goodness (my favorites are the fish sandwich and the capresse) out back on their patio (which commonly features live entertainment), stroll back up through the store gathering as many groceries as you can! they even provide free ice to keep your nosh fresh on the drive home. it's more than just a market, it's and experience!

great marketplace, but the snack bar is, well, a snack bar. we've been going here for years for the market. fresh cheeses and the best ingredients. great ambiance - right out of nyc. but there is no restaurant, just a snack bar like one you might find at a flea market. i wish they would fix it up a bit so it doesn't feel quite so seedy. i like dives, but i just don't feel comfortable here. go there for the market, which we highly recommend.

best sandwiches ever!. i always stop by mazzaro's for the italian sub when i need a great lunch.

rude staff kills appetite. sorry but rudeness kills it for me. i simply asked if i was in the wrong line at the bakery counter and was told i was rude. they need to utilize the number system because they were not busy at all when i first walked up they were all gathered at the south end. i have had their pasta and cannolis ,and they were good, but i cant deal with rudeness. no food is worth that !

love it!. i have to agree, castellano and pizzo in s. tampa is also very good (and has great prices). however, mazzaro's has some features that make it shine. fresh, homemade mozzarella balls, fabulous baked goods, espresso bar. every time i think about it, my mouth waters!

not a vegan. love this place. the meat and seafood counter is unbelievable. i grill out every weekend and thanks to the guys at mazzaro's my friends and neighbors think i could "throwdown" with bobby flay.
