went into mavis today for morning tea with my 4 yr old. his fries came out in 5 mins which was great. it took another 10 mins for my tea and a few mins later i had to go and ask for his juice they had forgotten. 30 mins after ordering my salad from thecabinetfinally showed up! my son was over it by then so i had them put it in a box to takeaway. service really needs to improve.

so unassuming but when you walk in.... our mouths watered! the food in thecabinetlooked so good! we couldn't decide what to choose! oh my! delish!
but the coffee could have been better, was warm and weak.
will be going back for date night!!!

we went to mavis & co today and decided to order a couple of food items from the savourycabinetand two flat whites, as from previous experience ordering cooked food is 'always' a lengthy wait.

after waiting half an hour we finally got ourcabinetfood minus the slices we also ordered for takeaway. they arrived five minutes later. i consider the 35 mins wait to be far too long. the flat whites were very small and compared to other cafes all in all it was a poor experience. having read the other reviews on this website mavis seriously need to sort themselves out!

my hubby and i have found our favourite cafe with mavis & co! fantastic food, atmosphere, and so many options. how have i not gone here sooner?? i enjoyed the donburi and it was full of flavour and the pork melted in my mouth. tasty apple crumble herbal tea. their chocolate meringues are exquisite! i can’t wait to go back! finally, a place that has a huge range ofcabinetfood! i’m so happy we came here!

this cafe is nice but the service is always so poor. the last 3 times i have been here with friends we get coffee,cabinetfood and something off the menu. our coffee never comes out together, our meals never come out together and we getcabinetfood at the same time or after we get our menu order.. it's so frustrating.

what a great place mavis & co eatery is. a stone throw away from the busy part of grey street, it is offset from the road and if not for the little a-frame sign board i would not have found it. but how glad i am that i did. the serving is very generous, perhaps a touch too much for a small eater. i ordered the smoke salmon, poached egg and salad breakfast and although it was absolutely delicious i simply could not finish it. the displaycabinethave way too many temptations-that is never a bad thing. look for to coming back for some cake and tea very soon.

i have been here for coffee and burger. it was lunch time so it was busy but i was happy wait. ordered a flat white (ok) and eggs benedict. eggs werent runny and over cooked which ruined it :( but my meal took over 30mins.. maybe if the food was perfect it would have been worth the wait. theircabinetfood looked pretty though! maybe i'll come back to try that.

hamilton isn't exactly known for its cafes so it's refreshing to see a vibrant cafe like mavis & co which offers visually stunning, tasty treats and great coffee.

spacious inside and outside, they have a stunning array ofcabinetfood. having already had lunch, my group was after some sweets and coffees. our coffees were fantastic and we had the lemon yogurt cake, strawberry custard shortcake and chocolate macaroon.

the fruity flavours of cakes were in abundance and our cakes had the right amount of sweetness without being overbearing. a little disappointing was the strawberry custard cake, which wasn't as moist as expected.

i did a quick search on zomato when i arrived in hamilton for the first time. the closest one was this lovely cafe. i'm from wellington so have experience a lot of different cafes but this placescabinetwas filled with the most delicious options i've ever experienced. the drinks and food were excellent as was the staff and the efficiency of the place. would absolutely recommend to anyone as it was just a high standard and an awesome atmosphere.

loved the savorycabinetoptions. the scone with caramelised onion is the best! can't beat a savoury scone with brunch. frittata is also good and quite filling. skillful baristas - great coffees and perfect chai. cute atmosphere. the mismatched serveware was an adorable touch.

once upon a time this was my favourite little cafe in hamilton. cosy, warm and a good feeling when you're there. now, due to popularity you have to choose when to go. sadly, when mavis is busy, its unbearable. but, out of all the times i've gotten something to eat, it's been quite tasty. their henny penny (bacon and eggs) is my husband's favourite and he orders it every time. and theircabinetfood is very tasty. but beware, some of their items may have unwanted ingredients. i purchased a caramel slice and it turned out to have coconut in it. their burger menu is alright.

a favourite brunch spot for a while now, decided to return once again for a long overdue catch up.

the cosy, homely interior with the outdoor courtyard area usually provides a great setting for a relaxed weekend brunch. alongside the cafe menu with fair options, there's a great range ofcabinetfood including some amazing desserts. service is generally very amiable and efficient, coffee very nicely made and ample tables available. will continue to come back!

my sister booked a big table outside at mavis & co with around 20 guests for her birthday. the service wasn't great with such a big group but once we got our food it was delicious. i ordered the lemon crepe which was nice but slightly too sweet and a piece of russian fudge to takeaway which was very smooth and creamy. thecabinetfood was beautifully displayed and everything in it looked very enticing. i think next time i would order from thecabinetinstead of the menu and come with a smaller group. worth a second visit though!

my favorite cafe! a busy little place tucked away in grey street. love the design, how beautiful the sweets are displayed, the staff that quickly clear tables and that they bring out the cutlery with the food (much more hygienic!) i love that i can ordercabinetfood every time! theircabinetfood is delish! prices are good too! oh also loved their beetroot side sauce! :)

pretty quirky spot on a busy corner with reasonable parking. butcherscabinetdisplay of a good selection of product, i tried one of their house made pies and whilst it was ok i wouldn't write home to my mother about it, certainly not at $8 for the experience. they also run a reasonably extensive table menu and have a more wine bar type style to one side of the business. had a reasonable flat white on my visit although there is better to be had in the town. still this is a decent spot that is a little different to take the inlaws to when they are visiting
