i have been here for coffee and burger. it was lunch time so it was busy but i was happy wait. ordered a flat white (ok) and eggs benedict. eggs werent runny and over cooked which ruined it :( but my meal took over 30mins.. maybe if the food was perfect it would have been worth the wait. their cabinet food looked pretty though! maybe i'll come back to try that.

came here for tea for two.... service was friendly, ... awesome looking selection of goodies in the cabinet... we did get a luscious lemon slice but it was dry... berry tea was nice and great place for a catch-up.

poor service. sat outside and they forgot my order, until i told them forty minutes later. the scone i had was so dry, the ones i can get at the bakery are half the price and twice better. the chocolate meringue was good though, but i say isn't worth the $5..

popped in quickly for a late lunch en route to rotorua. was still super busy late afternoon - unfortunately the steak sandwich was unavailable so we ordered the eggs benny and energise salad as well as some coffee. food was okay but service was a bit on the slow side that arvo. friendly staff and lovely outdoor seating area though.

i used to come here every tuesday morning with a few friends for about a year or two and it was always just a hot chocolate or a hot chocolate and a breakfast burrito.
the hot chocolate, is one of the best i have ever tasted. they use whittaker's chocolate in it and i mean, who doesn't like whittaker's chocolate!! and the breakfast burrito well you can guess it's just as good! top marks mavis. a++

hamilton isn't exactly known for its cafes so it's refreshing to see a vibrant cafe like mavis & co which offers visually stunning, tasty treats and great coffee.

spacious inside and outside, they have a stunning array of cabinet food. having already had lunch, my group was after some sweets and coffees. our coffees were fantastic and we had the lemon yogurt cake, strawberry custard shortcake and chocolate macaroon.

the fruity flavours of cakes were in abundance and our cakes had the right amount of sweetness without being overbearing. a little disappointing was the strawberry custard cake, which wasn't as moist as expected.

best hot chocolates and eggs benedict! can't say i have really tried anything else but the staff are always friendly and service is reasonably fast based on how busy the place always is.

the service from the get go was shocking, the girl who served us was impolite, and didn't seem to know what she was doing. if she was being trained then it's horrible to have put her on the till when she seemed incompetent and no one was there to help. she didn't put in the right order and forgot some of our order as well (it never came)

the savoury food was genuinely awful. we had 3 dishes with different meats and the quality of all 3 was below acceptable quality.

the sweets were the only highlight. the service was not good and the food was far below average. sad to say i won't be coming back.

the food wasn't even worth photographing.

11th july 1.15pm. not busy but the wait interminable. all the food was luke warm and fries limp.
the pattie in one of the burghers was burnt to a cinder.
manager said, " we are only human and make mistakes". i thought they were supposed to be professionals?
we'll go back.... yeah, right!

i did a quick search on zomato when i arrived in hamilton for the first time. the closest one was this lovely cafe. i'm from wellington so have experience a lot of different cafes but this places cabinet was filled with the most delicious options i've ever experienced. the drinks and food were excellent as was the staff and the efficiency of the place. would absolutely recommend to anyone as it was just a high standard and an awesome atmosphere.

loved the savory cabinet options. the scone with caramelised onion is the best! can't beat a savoury scone with brunch. frittata is also good and quite filling. skillful baristas - great coffees and perfect chai. cute atmosphere. the mismatched serveware was an adorable touch.

once upon a time this was my favourite little cafe in hamilton. cosy, warm and a good feeling when you're there. now, due to popularity you have to choose when to go. sadly, when mavis is busy, its unbearable. but, out of all the times i've gotten something to eat, it's been quite tasty. their henny penny (bacon and eggs) is my husband's favourite and he orders it every time. and their cabinet food is very tasty. but beware, some of their items may have unwanted ingredients. i purchased a caramel slice and it turned out to have coconut in it. their burger menu is alright.

a favourite brunch spot for a while now, decided to return once again for a long overdue catch up.

the cosy, homely interior with the outdoor courtyard area usually provides a great setting for a relaxed weekend brunch. alongside the cafe menu with fair options, there's a great range of cabinet food including some amazing desserts. service is generally very amiable and efficient, coffee very nicely made and ample tables available. will continue to come back!

beautiful food and central location with loads of parking.
the salads are lovely. raw energy salad is a favourite of mine.
it does get very cramped and crowded. i guess because theyre so popular. i would recommend an outside seat. and try the turkish apple tea!!

went in for lunch had the amazing crispy chicken burger the service was quick and the staff smiley ... for desert i had couple of slices to share they were real good ..
