masil is probably one of our favorite korean restaurants. good service and great food.

during our stay, we ordered the galbi jjim, also known as the korean beef stew, the gyeran jjim, also known as the steamed egg, the haemul pajeon, also known as the seafood pancake, and 2 set meals, namely the masil set b which comprised of pork and chicken, and the premium set b, which was more of a beef plate. the nice thing about ordering the set meals is that they are brought to the table raw, but cooked right in front of us, by their very friendly staff.

galbi jjim (korean beef stew) - 5/5
price: 490 php
this was perfect. the sauce was just the right amount of sweet, the meat fell right off the bone effortlessly, and it left us craving for more.

gyeran jjim (steamed egg) -4.5/5
price: 150 php
although this dish was nice and fluffy as it's supposed to be, there were tiny little holes in the egg. the texture could have been much smoother if it was strained thoroughly.

haelmul pajeon (seafood pancake) 4/5
price: 350 php
the dish was interesting to eat because of the variety of textures. it was crunchy on top and creamy in the middle. inside, we were really able to taste the squid and shrimp. this dish is also served with sauce that had a strong vinigar taste.

the masil set b -4/5
price: 2,100 (good for 4-5 pax)
this was great! it was cooked and seasoned well but we found it to be pretty simple.

premium set b - 4/5
price: 3,300 (good for 4-5 pax)
this was really yummy. we actually prefer this over the other set, but one of the non marinated beef dishes was too bland for us.

apart from what we ordered, the restaurant also serves sides made to be refillable up to a total of 3 times. their water was was also different as it had pandan in it.

overall, we loved masil. a korean restaurant that we will always enjoy eating in.

another korean bbq on the higher price end of the spectrum.

its great that you can reserve a private room for parties.

they have the typical meat selection as other korean bbq restos would. highly recommended is the fluffy airy steamed egg. and oddly good is the marinated raw meat ( forgot the name)

one of the best and legit korean restaurants out there!masil is owned by a korean who married a pinoy. the owner was very hands-on and she speaks filipino fluently. many koreans eat here both for lunch and dinner and as for my experience i'll be listing them below:

the staff here are very attentive and accommodating. if you don't know which to order they will proactively assist you.

my number 1 favorite here aside from their tender and very very flavorful premium short ribs would be the gyeran jjim (steamed eggs) priced at only p150! their version is a bit on the soupy end compared to most korean restaurants that only serve it dry. it's really good and kind of like resembles chawanmushi. the galbi jjim also known as korean beef stew (p490) was very good and would make you eat more white rice. i highly recommend that you order their set menus so you can sample their bestsellers all in one set.

premium set a is p3,800 (good for 4) and this one already has 6 meat viands plus plain 4 pcs plain rice and a korean-style spring onion pancake.

premium set b is p3,300 (good for 4) and this one also has 6 meat viands plus some japchae and 4 pcs plain rice

all sets are served with side dishes and salad. not refillable though.

if you want a fabulous dining experience, masil is your place. unlike the now popular all-you-can-eat korean bbq joints, masil offers an array of different meats and flavors. whatever you choose, they cook it in front of you, and it's quite an enjoyable experience not having to navigate eating ang cooking at the same time. it's on the more pricey side, but worth every centavo.

best korean bbq i've had in the metro to date. food and service are excellent! you still come out smelling like food and smoke.... but worth it!

love this place! lots of sides and even steamed egg. perfect for the kids.

we always order samgyupsal because the kids love it so much. the others we would just choose based one our mood but everything is always nice. we also like the gimbap and capjae

however we dont fancy the gingseng chicken soup because we feel the cooking style is different to the ones we had in korea and other country. maybe just us though..

but anything else is always nice.

their facebook page says it's open until 9pm. i call to make sure and they say it's open until 8.45, and last order is at 8. we arrive at 7.55, the restaurant is already closed, and despite informing the personnel that it's not yet 8pm, they said the kitchen is already cleaned. went all the way there and paid for the parking for nothing, very lazy and unprofessional.

fourth time to eat here.
side dishes are awesome as always! i love their kimchi and salads. well i didn’t like their radish. tasted awful but that was just this one time.

ordered two different meats from the grill menu, always super full after! meat was tender and definitely worth the money.

also ordered seafood pajeon, one of the best i tried so far. :)

best korean restaurant in manila. premium meat cuts, superb banchan, and very attentive staff even if it’s super crowded. wish they would add more tables because the lines are always long and there’s a considerably long wait time to get seated but the lines are understandable because the food is just super good. only bad comment is they stopped serving yukhoe. please bring yukhoe back!

food 5, ambience 5, price 4, service 4: it’s a solid 4.5. so far, it’s probably the best korean restaurant we’ve experienced. what we loved about the menu is the availability of cheaper cuts to the more expensive cuts. so if you are scared of the usual samgyupsal fatty cuts, go for the more expensive ones to really enjoy the food. don’t come here just to order the cheap korean all you can eat cuts. but even when we ordered the more expensive cuts, it felt like a buffet. we ate all the barbecues and took home the japche, beef stew, and beef ribs soup. the servings are indeed generous. as for the price, you have to pay for quality cuts. the place was clean and not stuffy despite everyone cooking. as for service, it took a while to be served and a friendlier cook would have been better. anyway, it was a busy lunch. but overall experience was great and worth returning to.

love the staff, very respectful and helpful. the portions were not up to mark. it seemed large in the menu but not so much in person.

all food was great.  i actually rate this as a 4.5, if that option is available.  we enjoyed the food, every thing was delicious, from the banchan, they have perilla! to the meats we've ordered. it's also cooked for you so if you are lazy, you just watch. :)  each meat is cooked perfectly too as they have specialized grills for each type of meat. it's changed every cut - which is great since that avoids cross-contamination.  my only issue is our server. i felt she didn;t like to talk much, and when i asked her questions about the menu, the meats, the banchan, she was slightly dismissive. it's not that she was rude, it's just that it seemed that she'd rather not if she had a choice.

definitely the best place to satisfy your korean food cravings. masil has the best marinated meats + cuts! their price is higher than your usual go-to unli samgyupsal restos, but surely worth it.

in my other food reviews, i mentioned that i judge a korean resto by their appetizers. masil passed with flying colors. i highly recommend the following dishes: samgyupsal, bulgogi, sundubu jjigae and their cold noodles. a+! i cap off my meal by grabbing a melona ice cream. another rare 5/5 review!
