masil is probably one of our favorite korean restaurants. good service and great food.
during our stay, we ordered the galbi jjim, also known as the korean beef stew, the gyeran jjim, also known as the steamed egg, the haemul pajeon, also known as the seafood pancake, and 2 set meals, namely the masil set b which comprised of pork and chicken, and the premium set b, which was more of a beef plate. the nice thing about ordering the set meals is that they are brought to the table raw, but cooked right in front of us, by their very friendly staff.
galbi jjim (korean beef stew) - 5/5
price: 490 php
this was perfect. the sauce was just the right amount of sweet, the meat fell right off the bone effortlessly, and it left us craving for more.
gyeran jjim (steamed egg) -4.5/5
price: 150 php
although this dish was nice and fluffy as it's supposed to be, there were tiny little holes in the egg. the texture could have been much smoother if it was strained thoroughly.
haelmul pajeon (seafood pancake) 4/5
price: 350 php
the dish was interesting to eat because of the variety of textures. it was crunchy on top and creamy in the middle. inside, we were really able to taste the squid and shrimp. this dish is also served with sauce that had a strong vinigar taste.
the masil set b -4/5
price: 2,100 (good for 4-5 pax)
this was great! it was cooked and seasoned well but we found it to be pretty simple.
premium set b - 4/5
price: 3,300 (good for 4-5 pax)
this was really yummy. we actually prefer this over the other set, but one of the non marinated beef dishes was too bland for us.
apart from what we ordered, the restaurant also serves sides made to be refillable up to a total of 3 times. their water was was also different as it had pandan in it.
overall, we loved masil. a korean restaurant that we will always enjoy eating in.
