worst place ever. completely unorganized, the servers yell orders extremely loudly as they run through the restaurant, the messed up our order three times before we gave up, and theribsare awful. awful! save some time and go to eddly's, famous dave's, or heck even witts. this place sucks.

amazing! drove 30 minutes from operyland and waited in line for another 20, but it was worth it! the dry rub pork spareribswere the best dryribsi've had. and let's not even talk about the hand cut fries (similar to wing stop's). my wife ate the pulled pork plate and the vinegar-based bbq sauce went great on it. i told my wife that this place should be franchised so more people could taste what they're serving at martin's!

my pre-assumption is that if you don’t wait in some type of line while dining in nashville, then food must not be worth the wait. was able to try the dry rub ribs, wings, sliced brisket and pork. those items were good enough to keep anyone returning. the dry rub on the wings was heavy but that’s just the way i like them!! could definitely taste the huge smoke flavor in the fall off the bone tender spareribswhich was complimented so well with martin’s sweet vinegar & pepper base bbq sauce. everything was ingeniously orchestrated and executed perfectly. you’ll truly leave with your belt loosened a notch or two.

bbq is one of my favorite meals. i've had a lot of it in my day. i always enjoy it, but none have come close to martin's. the workers are friendly and it has a fun atmosphere. the meat smoker is in the middle of the restaurant for everyone to see. the brisket is out of this world. theribsare some of the best i've had. the meat is always freshly smoked. sides are pretty good, but the meat is the star here. i 10/10 recommend martin's.

my favorite place to eat in mount juliet. i love the dry rub ribs. my family likes the wings in alabama white sauce (if you haven't tried it, you need to do so). my only complaint is that they seem to run out ofribsa lot. price you pay for greatness i guess.

on vacation we were invited to martins for bbq. unfortunately on saturday night at 7:15 they were already out of baby back ribs. to be fair they do mention on the sign that they may run out of some items, however right during prime time? we were not pleased. fortunately we were able to go the next day and they had ribs. theribswith the dry rub were fantastic and the wings with alabama white sauce were delicious as well. i've never had a white mayo based bbq sauce before. i would have given them a 5 out of five if it weren't for running out of ribs.

dinner here a few weeks back. saw the restaurant on the ddd show on food network.

arrived around 8:00 and didn't see a lot of folks on a wednesday night. no issue as that's sometimes the case.  waked right up and ordered. sat down and waited. ordered the dry rub and bbq platter. (pictured)

theribswere ok but frankly i thought just a bit on the dry side. put some of the basic bbq sauce over them and all is well. the dry rub spice was good. probably 4 bones on them.

the pulled pork was the highlight. this was moist but still had a good smoke and slightly pink color in parts. some amount of bark but not a lot. if i was going back most likely just get a full order of this.

the slaw i was told was 25% / 75% percentage of vinegar base and mayo. mayo being the larger part. it was ok but nothing special.

came along with a cornbread cake. i saw this on the show and all but really didn't see the flip. not bad but nothing i'd do again.

overall a good experience and staff was friendly.

martin’s bar-b-que joint is a fun place to go, the service is excellent, the food is over-the-top, the atmosphere is great and it’s kid friendly.  so if you find yourself in nashville or close to nolensville, check out the barbecue pork, brisket and ribs.   martin’s bar-b-que joint does source as much local meat and produce as they can and fully supports the “shop local – eat local” campaign.  be sure to tell them that you read this review on the brown bag review dot com and they’ll give you a free toothpick. pulled pork barbecue: (8 / 9) red neck taco: (9 / 9) brisket: (7 / 9) baby back ribs: (8 / 9) dixie bar-b-q sauce: (7 / 9) staff friendliness: (7 / 9) atmosphere: (8 / 9) cleanliness: (8 / 9) value: (7 / 9) average: (7.7 / 9)         credit cards:   yes catering service available:   yes recommendations:  wet baby backribssuggestions:   brisket alcohol:   yes – full bar ambiance:   family style noise service:   prompt & friendly vegetarian friendly:   ugh, it’s a q-restaurant, yo

who wrote these reviews????. i went to martin's after reading all of the rave reviews. i was very, very disappointed. i ordered a combination ofribsand pulled pork with a side of "baked" beans and fries. this was by far the worst bbq i've ever had and i have had bbq everywhere from memphis to kansas city to texas to eastern carolina and georgia. theribswere so overcooked that they could have been roof shingles. the point of slow roasting is to cook the meat until it is fall off the bone tender. i got theribs"wet" meaning that it was slathered with sauce (no problem there) but the meat was so overcooked that it was as hard as the bone...strike one. the pulled pork was dry and tasteless, i tasted no seasoning whatsoever in this bland meat. i understand that you can add your own sauce (i was given a cup of sauce to dip the meat into) but the meat should still have some sort of personality to it...strike two. the "baked" beans were obviously canned (since there is a wall of canned pork and beans lining the way when you walk in) but i expected that they would at least jazz them up in some way. wrong!. they basically took the beans out of the can, sliced some green peppers and onions into the pot and served them. baked beans should have a taste of brown sugar, bacon (or some other meat) and a little mustard and honey or bbq sauce to top it off as well as the onion and green pepper. as far as i could tell, nothing was done to make these beans taste like baked beans. the fries looked like they had been cooked in old oil and like the ribs, they were overcooked...strike three. as an un-honorable mention, there was the corn cake. it was also tasteless and to add insult to injury it was cold (is that how it is supposed to be served?) it does not merit any other mention. i am not a bbq pit master who judges world bbq competitions, i'm just a guy who likes bbq and after trying martin's for the first and last time i am sad to say that i would rather eat bar b cutie (which i hate) than to return to this establishment. i feel very let down after all of the reviews that i read prior to visiting.

situated in the suburb of nolensville, it was gaining rave reviews online and was apparently also featured on diners, drive-ins and dives (although i didn’t know that before we went there, honest). we immediately put the address into the sat nav and headed over there on our way into the city. what i liked outright about the menu here was that it wasn’t justribsand beef that were on offer (although of course you could get those too). th

smoking in the mj. we've been going to and enjoying martin's other spot for awhile now. the question was could pat pull off another location. now that we've been to the mj location a couple of times we know he can and did. we were even bold enough to go on the opening day. quite a risk since it as a "cold opening" with no practice. we've also been back. each time, service has been great. food is the same long smoked q. i still like the memphis dry spareribsbest. sauces are their own. the regular is a thin sweet style most will like. hot is hot! sides are fresh made. slaw is good blend of vinager and mayo. fries are real potatoes. we've taken out of town guests there and they gushed over the sampler platter. so, there you have it. martin's is another good bbq joint in the mj area. we'll be back again soon.

at martin’s, you order at the counter, choose a table, and food is brought to you once it was prepared. i liked what i saw on the menu, and wanted to sample the ribs, pork, and brisket, so i ordered a half rack and three sliders. theribswere offered either wet or dry, and i ordered dry, making the assumption that the memphis-styleribswould shine here. i think this was a mistake, but more on that later. theribscame with two sides, and i ordered fries and the cornbread. i asked what color the slaw was and the cashier told me it was white, but that it was
