worst place ever. completely unorganized, the servers yell orders extremely loudly as they run through the restaurant, the messed up our order three times before we gave up, and the ribs are awful. awful! save some time and go to eddly's, famous dave's, or heck even witts. this place sucks.

really good bar-b-que. and lots of it! martin’s barbecue! we had heard about this place on “diners, drive-ins, and dives,” and it sounded like just the kind of barbecue we love. we were both anxious to try the “red-neck tacos” that they had featured on the television show. their “taco” is a large, cornbread, fry-cake filled with massive quantities of pulled, smoked pork and topped with really excellent coleslaw! again, i think there was easily enough food in one “taco” to split, but we didn’t and were completely stuffed. they also advertised that they had cheerwine! cheerwine is a memory from north carolina. it’s still made in the small town in western nc.

i'm a bbq snob and my taste leans heavily towards carolina style, vinegary q. i was very satisfied with martin's. everything from the ambiance, the meat, sauces, and sides hit high marks in my book. excellent operation and i will be back for more on my next nashville trip

this would be the most consistent bbq joint in wilson county. all of the meats i have tried are above average. i am a brisket snob and i find martin's to be the best around. i was also pleasantly surprised by their smoked turkey breast. the sausage is different than most but it is good as well. i do wish that they gave you a little more access to their sauces. they are a little stingy with them. overall, a great bbq treat.

what's the hype?. if whitts is dogfood, martin's is babyfood. mealy and something the kids love but adults with a palate wouldn't make the drive for again. good decor inside though!

amazing! drove 30 minutes from operyland and waited in line for another 20, but it was worth it! the dry rub pork spare ribs were the best dry ribs i've had. and let's not even talk about the hand cut fries (similar to wing stop's). my wife ate the pulled pork plate and the vinegar-based bbq sauce went great on it. i told my wife that this place should be franchised so more people could taste what they're serving at martin's!

despite being more food than any one person should consume, i'm proud to say that i ate every bit of my big momma sampler. martin's met, nay exceeded, every expectation that i had. although i'm sure that their mt. juliet and belmont locations are great, too, i'm glad that i got to try out the original joint.

the appetizer french fries with jalapeños, brisket and cheese were so flavorful, i could have made a meal of it. the redneck taco was good and unique but was overshadowed by the delicious homemade mac and cheese that came with it. long wait so be prepared.

i was driving through nashville and wanted some bbq for lunch. looked up martin’s bbq joint and decided to give it a try. i ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a side of baked beans. after they took our order they told us to sit where we wanted. we sat at a table next to the pit and eventually my girlfriend asked what was all over my hands. it turns out it was a fine layer of ash all over the table from the pit. we moved tables and didn’t mention it. when the food came i thought the bbq was very good the sauce was the perfect mixture of tangy and sweet. the baked beans were also delicious. the decor in the restaurant was old time and well done. i would definitely repeat just stay away from the table by the pit.

my pre-assumption is that if you don’t wait in some type of line while dining in nashville, then food must not be worth the wait. was able to try the dry rub ribs, wings, sliced brisket and pork. those items were good enough to keep anyone returning. the dry rub on the wings was heavy but that’s just the way i like them!! could definitely taste the huge smoke flavor in the fall off the bone tender spare ribs which was complimented so well with martin’s sweet vinegar & pepper base bbq sauce. everything was ingeniously orchestrated and executed perfectly. you’ll truly leave with your belt loosened a notch or two.

bbq is one of my favorite meals. i've had a lot of it in my day. i always enjoy it, but none have come close to martin's. the workers are friendly and it has a fun atmosphere. the meat smoker is in the middle of the restaurant for everyone to see. the brisket is out of this world. the ribs are some of the best i've had. the meat is always freshly smoked. sides are pretty good, but the meat is the star here. i 10/10 recommend martin's.
