i'm abbqsnob and my taste leans heavily towards carolina style, vinegary q. i was very satisfied with martin's. everything from the ambiance, the meat, sauces, and sides hit high marks in my book. excellent operation and i will be back for more on my next nashville trip

this would be the most consistentbbqjoint in wilson county. all of the meats i have tried are above average. i am a brisket snob and i find martin's to be the best around. i was also pleasantly surprised by their smoked turkey breast. the sausage is different than most but it is good as well. i do wish that they gave you a little more access to their sauces. they are a little stingy with them. overall, a greatbbqtreat.

amazing! drove 30 minutes from operyland and waited in line for another 20, but it was worth it! the dry rub pork spare ribs were the best dry ribs i've had. and let's not even talk about the hand cut fries (similar to wing stop's). my wife ate the pulled pork plate and the vinegar-basedbbqsauce went great on it. i told my wife that this place should be franchised so more people could taste what they're serving at martin's!

i was driving through nashville and wanted somebbqfor lunch. looked up martin’sbbqjoint and decided to give it a try. i ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a side of baked beans. after they took our order they told us to sit where we wanted. we sat at a table next to the pit and eventually my girlfriend asked what was all over my hands. it turns out it was a fine layer of ash all over the table from the pit. we moved tables and didn’t mention it. when the food came i thought thebbqwas very good the sauce was the perfect mixture of tangy and sweet. the baked beans were also delicious. the decor in the restaurant was old time and well done. i would definitely repeat just stay away from the table by the pit.

my pre-assumption is that if you don’t wait in some type of line while dining in nashville, then food must not be worth the wait. was able to try the dry rub ribs, wings, sliced brisket and pork. those items were good enough to keep anyone returning. the dry rub on the wings was heavy but that’s just the way i like them!! could definitely taste the huge smoke flavor in the fall off the bone tender spare ribs which was complimented so well with martin’s sweet vinegar & pepper basebbqsauce. everything was ingeniously orchestrated and executed perfectly. you’ll truly leave with your belt loosened a notch or two.

on vacation we were invited to martins for bbq. unfortunately on saturday night at 7:15 they were already out of baby back ribs. to be fair they do mention on the sign that they may run out of some items, however right during prime time? we were not pleased. fortunately we were able to go the next day and they had ribs. the ribs with the dry rub were fantastic and the wings with alabama white sauce were delicious as well. i've never had a white mayo basedbbqsauce before. i would have given them a 5 out of five if it weren't for running out of ribs.

dinner here a few weeks back. saw the restaurant on the ddd show on food network.

arrived around 8:00 and didn't see a lot of folks on a wednesday night. no issue as that's sometimes the case.  waked right up and ordered. sat down and waited. ordered the dry rub andbbqplatter. (pictured)

the ribs were ok but frankly i thought just a bit on the dry side. put some of the basicbbqsauce over them and all is well. the dry rub spice was good. probably 4 bones on them.

the pulled pork was the highlight. this was moist but still had a good smoke and slightly pink color in parts. some amount of bark but not a lot. if i was going back most likely just get a full order of this.

the slaw i was told was 25% / 75% percentage of vinegar base and mayo. mayo being the larger part. it was ok but nothing special.

came along with a cornbread cake. i saw this on the show and all but really didn't see the flip. not bad but nothing i'd do again.

overall a good experience and staff was friendly.

we want to like it. since moving to mid tn, everyone has said that martin's in nolensville is the bestbbqaround. the first time we went was a saturday evening towards the tail end of the dinner rush. when we got to the counter to order, they had run out of most everything we wanted to try including brisket, which is my favorite. so we ordered alternatives and the food and sauce was very good, albeit not what we wanted to eat. we figured that they ran out of stuff because it was a busy saturday night. so we decided to try again on a mid-week evening right around normal dinner time (6pm-ish) thinking everything would be fresh and in stock. we were wrong. not only were they out of brisket, but the only meat they had was pulled pork and turkey, and most of the sides were out this time too. so we ordered pulled pork and turkey dishes with whatever sides they had left. my wife's pulled pork didn't come out with the order so i went and asked for it just to be told that they just ran out. the manager didn't really have much to say other than apologizing. so, although we really want to make martin's ourbbqplace, they are making it very difficult for us to do so. i can't say that we like it because we've never been able to try what we wanted to eat on their menu. once is a fluke, twice is poor inventory management. unfortunately we probably won't be back for a third try.

bestbbqin the country! i usually opt for the half rack of baby backs (wet) but everything is good including the burgers and redneck taco. love the potato salad and green beans. awesome place i'm so blessed to live within a couple miles of such abbqlegend.

who wrote these reviews????. i went to martin's after reading all of the rave reviews. i was very, very disappointed. i ordered a combination of ribs and pulled pork with a side of "baked" beans and fries. this was by far the worstbbqi've ever had and i have hadbbqeverywhere from memphis to kansas city to texas to eastern carolina and georgia. the ribs were so overcooked that they could have been roof shingles. the point of slow roasting is to cook the meat until it is fall off the bone tender. i got the ribs "wet" meaning that it was slathered with sauce (no problem there) but the meat was so overcooked that it was as hard as the bone...strike one. the pulled pork was dry and tasteless, i tasted no seasoning whatsoever in this bland meat. i understand that you can add your own sauce (i was given a cup of sauce to dip the meat into) but the meat should still have some sort of personality to it...strike two. the "baked" beans were obviously canned (since there is a wall of canned pork and beans lining the way when you walk in) but i expected that they would at least jazz them up in some way. wrong!. they basically took the beans out of the can, sliced some green peppers and onions into the pot and served them. baked beans should have a taste of brown sugar, bacon (or some other meat) and a little mustard and honey orbbqsauce to top it off as well as the onion and green pepper. as far as i could tell, nothing was done to make these beans taste like baked beans. the fries looked like they had been cooked in old oil and like the ribs, they were overcooked...strike three. as an un-honorable mention, there was the corn cake. it was also tasteless and to add insult to injury it was cold (is that how it is supposed to be served?) it does not merit any other mention. i am not abbqpit master who judges worldbbqcompetitions, i'm just a guy who likesbbqand after trying martin's for the first and last time i am sad to say that i would rather eat bar b cutie (which i hate) than to return to this establishment. i feel very let down after all of the reviews that i read prior to visiting.
