i visited market today for a lovely late afternoon meal. it has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. the outside area is lit up with fairy lights which is a great touch. the service is a bit slow as they are busy but the waiters are friendly and the food is fresh and plated well. i ordered a warm cappuccino to drink and the hallloumi and avo on rye bread to eat. the rye bread was a bit hard but overall i enjoyed the snack. my friend ordered the butternut ravioli without bacon which she throughly enjoyed. for desert we shared the cranberry chocolate brownie. it was topped with ice cream. we found it a bit rich and had quite. unique taste. the restaurant has a greatatmosphereand good food.

very relaxed, friendly staff and food was good. child friendly. the outdooratmosphereis very popular. i am sure you can book put the place if you want to have a small get together with family and friends.

took my friend who had come for a visit from johannesburg here. she looked at the menu & pictures of the place & found it quite underwhelming and was not quiet convinced to come here for our last dinner in durban. boy was she wrong. she loved every single thing about the restaurant. this place has such a lovely setting and casualatmosphere- giving european bistro vibes, perfect romantic hideout.

the food: great value for money. the composition and flavours are outstanding. for starters i had their special of game carpaccio with beetroot and goats cheese - i will never taste a carpaccio quite like that again. definitely could've had 2/3 servings of it. mains was the "free range duck comfit leg and pan fried duck breast deglazed with honey and served on a butterbean mash - finished off with a tomato and bean compote." i cannot describe the explosion of flavours with this meal. the combination of the butterbean mash and the duck worked incredibly well. sadly didn't go for desert, my tummy was overwhelmed already but will try it out next time.
they have a great wine list to compliment their food.
they do have a seasonal menu as i gathered.

this is one i my favourite durban restaurants. you may struggle to find it as it is nestled away down a little alley way. the service is good, theatmosphere/ vibe is great and the food is really good. great spot for breakfast or lunch.

i visited market for a relaxed sunday brunch and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful trendy decor and overall vibe. the restaurant is hidden beneath large trees, allowing it to spill out with fairy lights wrapped around the trees above. this must be stunning in the evenings.

the crowd ranges from young to old all very modern and hip. i loved the attentive service and relaxed warmatmospherethat makes you not ever want to leave. the menu although small manages to cater for a variety of tastes. i went intending to try out their flapjack stack but was rather hungry and went for the prawn pasta instead which was extremely delicious. the servings are also quite large and well priced. the prawns were cooked to perfection and the pasta was perfectly spiced. in fact that specific dish is said to be loved by a fellow bloggers husband who is actually italian so you know it's good!

i can't wait to go back for a girls lunch or breakfast again. market is absolutely a beautiful hidden gem in this bustling area.
