this place is amazing and deserves its high rating for two reasons: it has a simple concept and it executes that concept well. there are about 18 variations on the menu of basically the same delicious stuff i.e. freshly baked biscuits, fried chicken, etc. i get "the farmer" which is basically a jumbo fried chicken buiscuit with bacon and a maple glaze of some sort. expect both a food orgasm and a food hangover when visiting this delicious san marco gem.

i highly recommend this place to anyone. our red hat group went here. we had a room reserved and three families totally were rude and ignored my intentions. they sat down at three tables anyways. that was my only dislike. the food was excellent. the manager was very nice and helpful.

i loved the owner, the food, the location, but the customers suck. very pompass ass and arrogant people. i had a special room reserved and all of three family ignored me i told them i have reserved this entire room for a group coming in. very rude.

today we decided to head down to maple street biscuit company to indulge on biscuits, bacon and fried goodness. maple street is a trendy breakfast spot with an almost complete focus on biscuits. don’t drop in hoping to eat something healthy with your biscuits. there are virtually no healthy options on the menu. the closest thing to healthy offered is oatmeal, a small salad, or plain grits. flaky biscuits and fried deliciousness are what you can count on. maple street has two locations. on this visit we dropped in to the new beaches location although the food in our experience is very consistent between the two and any comments we make on the food in general you can assume relate to both locations. as far as newer breakfast spots go maple street might be the hottest in town. maple street gives you a clean, new, upscale sort of feeling without sacrificing the feel of being a locals place. they do this through community tables where you eat with other guests and kitschy traditions like ca

amazing!. i've heard nothing but great things about this place, so we finally decided to check it out for lunch this week. ah-maz-ing! i had the loaded goat with fried green tomatoes. i was also able to try the sweet potato fries (yum), the mac & cheese, & the apple butter (which is my weakness). everything was delicious. definitely will adding this to the weekly lunch rotation.

these are serious biscuits and served correctly. lots of meat and gravy. dainty ladies please avoid this restaurant they have nothing that will interest you. the other 95% of the population will love eating here.

amazing food. i love this place. my only issue is that it is that the biscuits seem to be shrinking and it is not open seven days a week. the fact that i can't get a squawking goat past 2pm most days burns my... well, burns my biscuit. if i want one at 3pm on a firday i have to wait an hour and that makes me hangry. if i want it at 3pm m-th, i'm just sol.
the biscuits are these awesome hunks of buttery, fatty goodness and the chicken is usually good enough to rival black sheep's ridiculous sunday chicken dinner. have had one or two meals out of about 20 that were not up to par but maple street in san marco is usually fairly consistent.
the atmosphere is decent. i enjoy hearing some good bluegrass and old-timey music whilst i dine, no matter how homogenized some of it may be.
basically, the food is so good that it doesn't bother me that the owners came together at a christian church and the whole place seems to have a bit of a christian under-current. as a witch, this should be enough to turn my stomach but these f#%@ing biscuits are that good. it's a little pricey but that helps keep it from looking like a mcdonalds on the west side. although, some of the yuppie scum are just as bad. all in all a nice dining experience.

not bad but not worth a long trip. tried a fried chicken biscuit here and agreed with an earlier review - the biscuits are okay and the fried chicken is not bad, but that's it. nothing special or memorable. this is gonna sound snobbish, but i compare everything to homemade - if it's not better than homemade, why bother? and this was not better (or as good as) homemade food.

unique find anywhere. absolutely unique and tasty restaurant. the five was great, although it can ruin an entire day's nutritional goals. but anyone should know that going into it! we also tried the fried green tomatoes and mac & cheese. the mac & cheese was decent, but i have had better in a number of places. overall, a good and unique dining experience!

where's the flaky biscuit?. was so excited to try this place as i love fried chicken and biscuit but was do disappointed after taking the first bite. the fried chicken was very bland and needs more spice. the biscuit was doughy and flat. the restaurant advertised the biscuit as flaky but there is nothing flaky about it.

flexible menu. went with my husband who always has "3 eggs over easy with bacon and toast" no matter where we go for breakfast. he was happy that they could accommodate (other than his toast) even though the menu is primarily biscuits. i had "the five" and it was great. i'll be a bit more daring with my choice the next time in. the service was great, quick and one of the owners checked on us. nice atmosphere in a nice part of town.

flaky wonderful biscuit, well cooked chicken, lovely melted goat cheese... my one regret was not getting the pepper jelly, which i was told is very good.
i do wish there were more vegetarian options, just for variety's sake, but the place is still going on my "eat there often" list.
