after visiting this popularrestauranta couple of times with a group of friends and trying almost everything on their menu, i surely feel the place is a little overrated in light of a very competitive miami market for upscale greek restaurants. the food especially the seafood is not always perfectly cooked or presented. it's a little of a hit and miss in most cases.

this is the best turkish/greekrestaurantin town. it is far beyond from their competitors. food is delicious! atmosphere and ambiance is great. service is outstanding! i definitely recommend this place. octopus, kofte, sucuk, sea bass, chicken sish, greek salad, hummus, tatziki, babaganush, etc all delicious! sangria is too...

worst so-called greekrestaurantin the western hemisphere!!!. all excited to finally revisit this restaurant, a after three years absence. apparently the fame that it enjoys now has changed the quality of the food and service. not only were the waiters and maitre d extremely unfriendly and obnoxious to the point of rudeness, but the food was either undercooked or burnt. and cold, at the same time. in the winter, the heaters in the terrace could burn the skin off your body. the fish was overcooked and dry, the stuffed greek zucchinis were cold, undercooked and tasteless. complained to the waiter, who asked why i had barely touched it, and received a blank stare, like, how dare you question our gourmet expertise?!! having been to greece ons several occasions, this is far from greek cuisine, it is a low cost, overpricedrestaurantwith a serious attitude problem. i would strongly not recommend this restaurant. they must laugh all the way to the bank with the money of uneducated, easily impressed customers who think they are actually eating greek food!!!

first experience === excellent. after much deliberation, research and reading of localrestaurantreviews, i decided to take my girlfriend of 3 years to mandolin for her birthday last night. was our first time checking out this bistro, and it did not disappoint. everything we ordered (apps: meatballs and turkish sampler; mains: pasta with bechamel sauce and chicken kebabs) was cooked and seasoned expertly, and the portions were surprisingly large for the swanky feel of the spot.

and that does not even touch on the ambiance of the restaurant, which, in and of itself, is a reason to go here if you haven't been before. despite almost every table being full, we had a very intimate, romantic and seemingly private dining experience. the wait staff was very attentive without being annoying, and the atmosphere and attitudes were very laid back despite being an upscale bistro. as a side note, it was also nice to look around the back patio area and see some familiar celebrity faces, including miami restauranteur and famed actor, michael caine.

one final note --- make a reservation. if you just show up, don't complain about getting a table off to the side or having to wait. heard two people griping and did not feel bad one bit. this is a qualityrestaurantso treat it like one...

will definitely recommend thisrestaurantand will definitely go again. currently, taking time away from my busy life as a miami attorney solely to post this review. people need to know! hope this was as helpful as the many reviews i read prior to going.

phil. i have lived in miami for 35 years and have never had better food at anyrestaurantand that includes the so-called "best" restaurants, which means the most expensive ones. mandolin is what arestaurantshould be...simple, friendly, pleasant atmosphere, excellent service and amazingly delicious, fresh food at a very fair price. i hope it will be here forever.

restaurants inspire me, not that i go home and start creating a master piece using that inspiration plus in reality the only thing i get when i leave arestaurantis a few more pounds to my collection (i hate that), but in my hectic day, going out for din

good but . . .. the food is very good but the desserts are terrible. i thought the portions were small for the price but they were delicious. the desserts are very expensive and not good at all. go to coral way to the orient bakery or baklava for good dessert. the garden is gorgeous and therestaurantreally feels like something near the aegean sea. the waitress was very nice but the manager or maybe he's the owner was not nice at all. he was downright surly when we asked for pita instead of bread on a sandwich and wanted to charge extra for it. pita bread in a medrestaurantis extra?!? but ignore him and enjoy the ambience. its the closest i'll get to the mediterranean in a long while.

horrible host!. i heard very good things about the place...good ambience and good food. so i tried going there....twice... and both times i was nearly kicked out by the host! in their website it says they close at 11 and both times i got there at 10 and he said it was closed already. and when we said its still 10, he gives excuses like there is no more food or tables. not to mention he was super rude! they either need a better manager or make therestaurantby reservation only!
