mama lou's italian kitchen

a variety of choices, good ambience, and their food is well portioned. nice and friendly servers too! was here with my entire family and the kids enjoyed their meal. will definitely come back! 😍

it was my first time here and it was my classmate who suggested what is best for us to order, since she usually eats in mama lou, but in the metro branch. i love the ambience of their place, it’s very instagram worthy and the food is great, it’s worth the price.

loved the pastas and the pizzas here, especially the spinach goat cheese pizza. my officemates and i went here for lunch awhile ago. it took 20mins for the food to arrive but it was worth it. the food was delicious, and very generous in serving. i just hope that next time the food come faster. we’ll eat here again!

food was okay. we're regular customers way before zomato gold and always order the seafood aglio olio, there are times that it's sooo good then when we order it again, it's not, even when it's right after another when we want a 2nd order.

they were pretty strict, they informed us before ordering that we cannot take home leftovers.

over-all experience is great. staff is courteous and friendly. wider selection of food compared to other italian restaurant (i.e. includes different type of risotto). price is reasonable for the food portion (and a bargain using our zomato gold privilege). ambience is comfortable and cozy.

tip: pizza can be ordered with 2 variants (just pay the higher priced pizza).

my grandparents wanted to try eating at mama lou's and decided to bring me with them.

i appreciated how cool it felt inside the restaurant since the weather's been really hot. the service was pretty great, too. the place was pretty busy, but the servers were still pretty attentive.

the food....was alright. i found some things a little under seasoned.

the •mozzarella sticks• sort of need the marinara sauce to taste good and i sort of wish they could taste good on their own.

the •baked italian meatballs• tasted alright, but i sort of felt they were lacking. hard to believe cause of how good they look. i mean they have sauce and cheese...well i don't think the meatball itself was very good at all. it's also pretty pricey. i feel like i could have made something better for less money.

we decided to get a half and half 14" pizza. one half was •pepperoni• and the other half was •spinach with goat's cheese•. the pepperoni wasn't anything special. just how you wpuld expect a pepperoni pizza to taste like. i did enjou the spinach one. it had a nice mild flavor. overall, a good pizza. thin crust with nice warm melty cheese.

i had the •chicken parmigiana• and opted to have it with some mashed potatoes, which were really tasty and creamy. the chicken itself, though....didn't wow me. i mean it was alright. it didn't taste bad and the serving was huge. it satisfied me, but it felt boring and i probably won't order it again.

the star was definitely the •grilled pork chops•. i don't usually go for pork chops when i go to a restaurant. my friend ordered it and let me try it. i immediately regretted not getting that for myself. it was so flavorful. it tasted amazing. it wasn't just that, either. they cooked it perfectly. the fat was a good kind of chewy and some of it just melted in my mouty. if i go back to mama lou's, i'm definitely getting the grilled pork chops.

overall, a good meal. did some things disappoint me? a bit, but this place gets a high rating cause of the service and those pork chops.

also, get the bottomless iced tea. it's pretty good.

me and my friend tried their seafood spaghetti and pizza margherita.

the pasta really has a tomato taste to it and the flavors are well balanced. however, there are some clams that was still closed when they served it which means that it is no longer fresh. cracked shells also made it hard to eat since you're gonna have to worry about digesting shell bits. however, this is still a must try!

as for the pizza, we were able to finish a large seeving (14in) even though there's only two of us eating the whole thing! their pizza is very light to the feeling which is what you want if you want to eat a lot of it. in addition, the taste of their cheese is not that overpowering which is a good thing.

dined here for a late dinner date with main man.

love the brick oven pizza and the additional alfalfa and arugula. pizza is not overcooked. 😍

seafood pasta (house special) is a must try.

steak is really tender and you'll get sated.

mama lou's is one of my go-to restos for comfort food. it was only recently that i got to try items under the main course and they're pretty okay. the chicken and beef were good in their own merit, but maybe it's really pasta and pizza that i will always come back to in this resto.

the salmon cream pasta, sesdood pasta, and tomato bases rigatoni are my personal favorites. for the pizza, i found the 4 cheese pizza too sweet for my liking but i did like their all meat pizza.

sadly me and my partner found our meals very average tasting.

the greek salad was not a greek salad. it was soaked in vinegar or some kind of dressing and no real olive oil used like you would expect. in greek salads lettuce and red onion is not used. was disappointing.

the seafood spaghetti was dry and lacked any meaningful taste.

the pizza was also very average.

it was just an average restaurant and sadly i wouldn't go back.

also gold benefits weren't available across the whole menu.

truffle mac and cheese, aglio oglio, seafood pasta, and beef salpicao. all of these were incredible. it was definitely an enjoyable experience as the food and service were both good.

good food. dined at uptc branch. we had our fur baby with us and they were so nice to provide water for our dog. appreciate this so much. staff was so nice too. will definitely go back.
