🐽 food: my friend and i ordered 2 dishes- spaghetti seafood olio and salpicao. nothing so special with the salpicao. the pasta though was really delicious! you won't go wrong with this. found out that it's also their best seller.

🍴ambiance: it's a bit squeezy inside. you can opt to sit on their alfresco area.

👫 service: servers need to be a little bit more attentive, but they were nice to us.

💸 price: affordable especially that serving isgoodfor sharing.

for me, mama lou's had proven that fine dining does not need to be too expensive at all. well, i turned out to be a fan because the beef dishes that we ordered were all so tender! pasta wasgoodas well. i highly recommend it to everybody. :)

air conditioning weakens as it gets crowded. poutine was fine, the best is still at pound for me.goodmozzarella sticks, loved the amatriciana pasta, and seafood olio and carbonara is good. pizzas were delicious if you're into thin crusts

had their goats cheese brick oven pizza and lucio’s truffle pasta again. 😁
happy with the service of this branch as they even thought of giving water for our dogs. servers we’re giving offgoodvibes and that made the experience better.goodjob!

i will no longer describe howgoodand delicious our meal was as it is already mentioned by the rest of the reviewers here. i am giving them a 4.5 because their customer service is excellent, the wait staff is always smiling and very prompt in delivering your requests. what i really like is their wait list process, they'll get your number and will contact you once your table is ready, that way, you can still do your other mall business. no more sitting like hungry cats outside the resto (although you can do that if you like). make sure to dine here if you chance by up town. skip silantro for once and choose mama lou's 🙂

oh boy did we eat a lot at mama lou’s. last thursday, oliver and i are walking and window shopping at up town center after we fail to get in time for a movie screening. tired and hungry, we decided to eat at mama lou’s because of itsgoodreviews.

we had the following:

↠ poutine with bacon: hot, crispy, yummy, thick-cut fries served with gravy and mozzarella and meaty bacon. it’s so gooey good!

↠ mama lou’s pizza : actually prior to ordering, i had no idea what this is, we ordered it just because there is a “mama lou” on it haha. there are many surprising elements in this pizza. it’s ridiculously thin and crispy, topped with arugula and alfalfa sprouts. and oh, what a surprise to find mango hiding a jamon! as if it is not interesting enough, it even has a balsamic sauce on it. what a weirdly wonderful combination.

↠ the spaghetti seafood olio was a bit disappointing. it lacks that kicking flavor of the sea and herbs. mary grace’s seafood pasta is definitely better.

↠ by the time the the braised short ribs arrived (piping hot), we were already full, but he held on! haha. the meat is tender and almost falling off the bone. the sauce tastes like what my mama used to make at our house (no, she’s not mama lou), i suppose because of the lovely mix of olives and tomato sauce.

overall, it was a wonderful experience. we dined in early so we didn’t have to wait for our seats. the staff are courteous and attentive too. will definitely return.

we just celebrated mother's day at mama lou's italian kitchen. we chose this restau since we are craving for pizza and pasta and this restau did not disappoint us.

for pizza, quattro formaggi or we called four cheese has thin crust and cheesy. my vegetarian sister order this since there is no added meat. we both order in small sizegoodfor 7-8 person.

lucio'a truffle pasta has no added meat too. my sister who is vegetarian also prefer that food. it is creamy and so yummy. a must try order!

city sampler consis of chicken, sausages, calamari and fries. there are 3 sauce that you can choose.

over all experience was fun.
we received desserts for mother's day special.
staffs are very accommodating.
clean place.
yet kinda pricey.

onegoodrestaurant at up town centre. italian cuisine foods, service is good, average food quality. pastas are good, the seafood cream based pasta isgoodand lasagna was great. the mama lou's pizza is good, price range is medium-high.

mama lou’s has successfully transplanted itself in the north by opening their up town center branch. despite being a little crammed compared to their branches in the south (mainly due to more expensive real estate i guess), they have maintained the same level of quality of italian cuisine that mama lou’s made us fall in love with. i loved their seafood pasta (seafood olio) it well balanced and served with the freshest catch. their mama lou’s special is asgoodas how they serve it in their southern branches. light, and mixes the distinct flavors of mango, cheese and prosciutto in a symphony of flavors, you won’t get enough of this. to top this all off, i am quite happy with their selection of wine which is asgoodand as diverse as the cuisine they serve.

i think the ratings and reviews for this place kinda raised my expectations a tad bit higher. not saying i didn't like my visit -- the vongole olio was good, the braised beef was really tender and the tiramisu was yummy but given the price, maybe i was looking for a little more oomph in the dishes. the pomodoro, for example, was a little too sour for our taste and could've used some more herbs maybe. serving sizes weregoodthough so i would still say not bad for its price range.

we gotgoodservice from the servers. the place is disinfected and the plates and utensils were thoroughly disinfected. i must say that the pizza and pasta are really italian flavored dish. one can tell that they are using the freshest ingredients. the service was very prompt and the server is always offering that the bottle of wine be chilled from time to time.

i was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the food at this place was. it’s reallygoodfor families and sharing, though you can get your own dishes too. the staff were also very friendly and nice. they were helpful in recommending dishes to us since it was our first time. the pizza was so good!!!! i would highly recommend the four cheese pizza though the other ones weregoodtoo. the restaurant itself was very nice too and has a lot of seats (even though it was quite big, it was full up!) the drinks were nice too. i would also recommend the garlic shrimp. everything was just amazing! the price was very reasonable too. i want to go back again soon!:)

mama lou's really is that italian restaurant offering quality food without being overly expensive. we had the truffle pasta, seafood risotto, and goat cheese pizza for dinner, and all were excellent! the goat cheese pizza in particular matches perfectly with the spicy honey to create a very delicious and interesting flavor. the staff were nice and efficient, and the place itself screams italian christmas. if you're into italian cuisine andgoodfood, this one is a must try. would definitely come back!

risotto was the most delicious thing our table ordered. calamari was soft and excellent. iced tea had a surprisinglygoodtwist. fried chicken a little too fried, breading was almost burnt. the goat's cheese spinach pizza was drier than my expectation and lacking a taste element to make it succeed as a dish. service for our large table was solely 1 man, and i watched him scrambling and servicing all the tables within my field of vision. if it weren't for him, this would get less stars. so thank you for that great service from that great worker.

if i could recommend a nice place for italian food, i would say “mama lou’s.” i’ve dined there before and i like the pizza but the crust is just a bit thin. i prefer the neopolitan pizza crust at motorino’s because it’s a bit thicker and chewy. i think that the thinness of the crust doesn’t allow it to stay as warm so the slices get cold as well as the cheese but the brick oven adds to the taste. i also tried the veal scallopini. the taste wasgoodbut the veal was a bit on the thin side.
