mama lou's italian kitchen

i'm so sad to say this, but i was not impressed with mama lou's italian kitchen. i heard a lot of great reviews, and it just wasn't what i expected.

we ordered the nachos (i do not recommend this); chef's salad (small serving, so simple in appearance and taste, drenched in watered vinaigrette); pescatore with angel hair pasta (bland - too common, nothing special); pizza margherita (more like cheese pizza with a leaf of basil on top).

theservicewas average. they were friendly, but forget to attend to us (we had to ask more than 3 times for water). i don't blame them though... tonight was really busy. i might give this place another chance. maybe if i'm in the area :)

for quality and tasty italian food, mama lou's is my go-to place. order their pasta and pizza dishes, cheesy burger steak, and beef salpicao. though, theirserviceis not really good. you just need a lot of patience. they also serve complimentary bread so while you are waiting for your food, you can chitchat and eat their complimentary appetizer.

had their goats cheese brick oven pizza and lucio’s truffle pasta again. 😁
happy with theserviceof this branch as they even thought of giving water for our dogs. servers we’re giving off good vibes and that made the experience better. good job!

everything was excellent - food, customerserviceand ambience. crazy thing is, food was served so fast, you would not expect the food to taste that great. now a favorite 😘 don't forget to buy the mama lous iced tea 👍🏼

i will no longer describe how good and delicious our meal was as it is already mentioned by the rest of the reviewers here. i am giving them a 4.5 because their customerserviceis excellent, the wait staff is always smiling and very prompt in delivering your requests. what i really like is their wait list process, they'll get your number and will contact you once your table is ready, that way, you can still do your other mall business. no more sitting like hungry cats outside the resto (although you can do that if you like). make sure to dine here if you chance by up town. skip silantro for once and choose mama lou's 🙂

i love italian dishes and here's another add on list to my faves. at first i thought mama lou's serves filipino dishes but i was wrong. the place has nice interior. different variety of wines are on display. somehow i felt irritated due to the noise and the hotness of the place.serviceis wow. staffs are well attentive to the needs of the customer. i love the pizza we ordered. the thinness and crispiness is so good. the seafood olio (forgot to take a pic) is my favorite 👍🏻👍🏻 but the truffle mac and cheese is not ok for me, it tasted weird. i love the cheesecake with mango toppings. the sweetness and sourness blends well to the palate. the only downside is its a bit pricey for its serving for me. overall its good.

one good restaurant at up town centre. italian cuisine foods,serviceis good, average food quality. pastas are good, the seafood cream based pasta is good and lasagna was great. the mama lou's pizza is good, price range is medium-high.

sent this to mama lou’s feedback email a month ago but we were totally ignored. so i’m posting it here.

i’m writing to express my deep disappointment in theservicemy boyfriend and i experienced at your up town center branch last night. we decided to have our valentine’s dinner at your establishment because we both enjoy your truffle pasta and have always had a great experience dining at your restaurant.

we understand that things have changed since the pandemic so we’re understanding of that but how long we were forced to wait for our order is unacceptable. we noticed that you use an online ordering system, and unfortunately, we weren’t able to save a screenshot of the order confirmation screen. if you have access to the orders placed at this branch, ours was place around 6pm for table 2.

our order wasn’t particularly large or complicated: a pasta, large pizza, iced tea, and mushroom chicharon. the restaurant wasn’t especially full either, which we appreciate, by the way. that’s why we can’t understand what took over 40 minutes for our order to be served. the iced tea was only served after we had followed-up with two servers first, and our appetizer wasn’t served until after our pizza had arrived.

theservicewe experienced last night was subpar to the point we had to ask for bread sticks for our table because we were getting hungry as a result of the long wait. if our pizza had at least been served warm, it wouldn’t have been so bad but that wasn’t the case. our pizza was served at room temperature at best. please address our concerns because we would hate for others to experience what we had gone through.

we got goodservicefrom the servers. the place is disinfected and the plates and utensils were thoroughly disinfected. i must say that the pizza and pasta are really italian flavored dish. one can tell that they are using the freshest ingredients. theservicewas very prompt and the server is always offering that the bottle of wine be chilled from time to time.

went here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. i ordered the blueberry cheesecake to be served with a candle after dinner. after eating our dinner, i told the waiter to serve the cake. upon serving, there was no candle. they forgot my request and totally spoiled the moment. food aside, theirserviceis deteriorating.

risotto was the most delicious thing our table ordered. calamari was soft and excellent. iced tea had a surprisingly good twist. fried chicken a little too fried, breading was almost burnt. the goat's cheese spinach pizza was drier than my expectation and lacking a taste element to make it succeed as a dish.servicefor our large table was solely 1 man, and i watched him scrambling and servicing all the tables within my field of vision. if it weren't for him, this would get less stars. so thank you for that greatservicefrom that great worker.

sad that they changed the zomato gold privilege this week into 2+2 on drinks. i mean food andservicewere great naman. but the offer for me isn’t worth it. buti nalang i was able to dine in there twice the week before 😢 sana ibalik and 1+1 on food pleaaaase.

my grandparents wanted to try eating at mama lou's and decided to bring me with them.

i appreciated how cool it felt inside the restaurant since the weather's been really hot. theservicewas pretty great, too. the place was pretty busy, but the servers were still pretty attentive.

the food....was alright. i found some things a little under seasoned.

the •mozzarella sticks• sort of need the marinara sauce to taste good and i sort of wish they could taste good on their own.

the •baked italian meatballs• tasted alright, but i sort of felt they were lacking. hard to believe cause of how good they look. i mean they have sauce and cheese...well i don't think the meatball itself was very good at all. it's also pretty pricey. i feel like i could have made something better for less money.

we decided to get a half and half 14" pizza. one half was •pepperoni• and the other half was •spinach with goat's cheese•. the pepperoni wasn't anything special. just how you wpuld expect a pepperoni pizza to taste like. i did enjou the spinach one. it had a nice mild flavor. overall, a good pizza. thin crust with nice warm melty cheese.

i had the •chicken parmigiana• and opted to have it with some mashed potatoes, which were really tasty and creamy. the chicken itself, though....didn't wow me. i mean it was alright. it didn't taste bad and the serving was huge. it satisfied me, but it felt boring and i probably won't order it again.

the star was definitely the •grilled pork chops•. i don't usually go for pork chops when i go to a restaurant. my friend ordered it and let me try it. i immediately regretted not getting that for myself. it was so flavorful. it tasted amazing. it wasn't just that, either. they cooked it perfectly. the fat was a good kind of chewy and some of it just melted in my mouty. if i go back to mama lou's, i'm definitely getting the grilled pork chops.

overall, a good meal. did some things disappoint me? a bit, but this place gets a high rating cause of theserviceand those pork chops.

also, get the bottomless iced tea. it's pretty good.

truffle mac and cheese, aglio oglio, seafood pasta, and beef salpicao. all of these were incredible. it was definitely an enjoyable experience as the food andservicewere both good.
