majestic grille

an enjoyable evening. i ordered an asheville nc reisling because i'd never tasted north carolina wine and a grilled tuna with string beans and rice. the pairing was perfect! the wine was sweet with enough edge to contrast the tuna and the delicious ginger/soy sauce on the beans. dessert and coffee was a real treat. i was presented with a choice of 6 small taste desserts (are these called verrines?) and chose strawberry shortcake and lemon mousse.

fun low-key atmosphere. one of the best caesar salads ever!

never will dine here again!! night out with family turned to a nightmare!! if you get something that's not good and would like to change it for something else, they will make you pay for the food you had at first and what you are replacing the dish with. the managers are very rude. we were informed that " this is not my kitchen and we could not just change our minds". so whatever you order better stick with it because you will be asked a million questions. we had just ate here the night before and brought our son and his friend back. this was the worst experience i have ever had! i was very upset with the way we were talked to and treated by the staff and the owner! very nice place very rude staff!

pizza's are good!. pizza's are great. thin crust...really good. the management is tight...not friendly. i guess the owner is a big shot in memphis...

majestic is one of my favorite restaurants.  we started off at the bar, where i enjoyed a kettle one martini with a twist.  it was made to perfection. they have a hamburger that is to die for.  i like to order it medium rare.  today, i chose to substitute the wonderful parmesan fries for the sautéed spinach.  i also added bacon and blue cheese to my burger.  nothing is better than beef, bacon, and blue cheese combined. normally, i don't want dessert, but majestic has these mini shot glass sized desserts for only $2.  i certainly can't resist the perfect size and the perfect price. the tiramisu is my favorite.   majestic is an awesome restaurant in downtown memphis.  if you have not been, you are missing out! posted by andy smithers at 5:50 pm

i've tried...i really have!. i just don't like the food! i've tried the burger, several times, hoping it would be better each time, but it wasn't. it has been very bland each time. even adding more salt, pepper and ketchup, which i never do, didn't help. the flatbread pizza is shockingly thin. i did enjoy it more than the cheeseburger. the filet was bland too. i don't even remember the sides that i ordered with that, so they didn't leave much of an impression. the best thing that i have gotten there was the grouper with scallops. that was delicious. i can't remember what my husband has ordered, so again, it did not leave an impression. the atmosphere is nice. the service is hit and miss. we have eaten there several times in the past 6 months, because my husband bought a lot of the half price gift cards last december. i'll be glad when they are gone! speaking of december at the majestic, they do show classic christmas movies on sunday nights....dinner and a movie. there is a special menu, but you can also order off of the regular menu. that's worth doing.

one of the best restaurants in memphis. the greatest burgers and fries(parmesan) but in the classiest place in downtown memphis! the chocolate mouse shooters dessert is the best on the list and for so cheap! also, the brunch menu is gluten free friendly - the shrimp and grits are an absolute must!

always lovely. vie been to majestic with 3 vastly different groups and purposes. the first was an imoortant meeting with out of town business associates. the second, a large group celebrating a rayjer more formal birthday for our german friends who had just arrived from across the ocean. vie also used majstic for casual lunches.

no matter what, majestic came through perfect food for the moment and the group. i've noshed on tuna sandwich with pickled cucumber, delicious pork with a light syrup gravy, and had a filet mingion which nearly made me slap the table in delight.

i'll go back anytime! gimme a call and let's go!

new love. love the art deco feel and flair. we ate on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather and the urban neighborhood feel. the flatbread pizza, pepperoni & sausage, was delicious. can't wait to return to try other menu items, although it will be hard to pass on the pizza.

great atmosphere, delicious steaks, and lots of original drinks to choose from. their website makes it easy to grab a reservation, and glance over the events. great place for a romantic night out.

this place is a very comfortable setting with top notch service and some of the best food i have experienced while visiting memphis. i highly recommend the experience.

my family dined with tmg three weeks ago and everything was superb; the food, the service and atmosphere were simply wonderful! it was so good that we wanted to experience it again. so we decided to dine with you on tonight 12/17/16. what a letdown!! while enjoying our meal, a group of young adults was seated two tables down from us. about fifteen to twenty minutes after their arrival three of their friends walked in and sat at the empty table for two causing the seating to becoming cramped. please note: the table of three (two being very husky) did not order any food or beverage. they just sat there moving about singing/rapping/talking at their leisure with friends at the other table. this was very uncomfortable to us; especially my husband who had to deal with one of the young men behind parts in his face every time he would jump or stand up. we expressed our concerns to our server thomas and were told he would let the manager know. keep in mind i am looking at them (server and manager) conversing as they were only a few feet from our table. thomas not the manager walked over to us and asked (the paying customer) if my husband could sit on the opposite side of the table so he wouldn't have to be inconvenienced by the young man. thomas also went on to say the manager would ask the young men to leave once were gone. hello!!!!! what sense does that make??? you will ask the non-ordering, non-paying "visitors" to leave after the paying customers have left the building. we are so perturbed at this time!!! so we asked to see the manager (james). we told him of the situation and he could only apologize for the inconvenience. at that time we let him know that we would not be returning to his restaurant due to this unpleasant experience. his reply was "i'm sorry, are you ready to pay the check?" we gave the manager, james our payment and he walked off. our server thomas returned with the change and an apology as well. it was then when we heard james (the manager) ask the young man at the table next to us if he could move so that we could get up and leave. oh, okay james you can ask him to let us out but you couldn't ask him to leave so that we, the paying customers could enjoy their meal. i hope and pray that no one will ever have to sit in your restaurant again and unwillingly have to look at someones rear end and not the huge movie screen. i wonder how james would have felt if he was in our position on tonight. my advice to upper management would be to get james some self-defense classes ( clearly he was too skittish to approach the young men. i think was a result of him being a lot smaller than they were) or hire private security who will have his back. unfortunately, tmg has lost these three customers due to james lack of concern and fear.

i was not particularly impressed by the cuisine here but everything came as ordered and in a reasonable time period. however, they did have good service and everybody else enjoyed their food.

i spoke with a hostess on the phone 3 times this afternoon (trying to work out a reservation), where she assured me all 3 times i could come after the play at the orpheum let out, as they would be open until 11. after the show let out, i went in and was told that they closed at 10. i understand closing at ten and i understand mistakes, but three calls where i was assured multiple times i could dine there? two thumbs up to flight, though.

never a disappointment here. the name describes the atmosphere! seating & location is great. not too far of a walk on the open mall. theater screen in the middle too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! majestic grille!
