inr 2500 was worthless for such horrible spread, particularly vegitarian. dingy dining place, poor service compounded the sad experience we had. its lost itsplaceas a 5 star. not going there anymore.

after hearing a lot about thisplacevisited for a team lunch.
i was awestruck with the architecture and interiors, ambience is top notch. may be because of all good things heard and hype of ambience my expectations are quite high for food, though spread was huge i really dint enjoy food much, most of the dishes were flat , nothing amazing or appealing. only thing i was happy about is ambience and desserts.
food is very ok for the bomb they charge

4 of us went to thisplaceafter a lot of discussion, given the fact that, we do know upfront its gonna be quite expensive. the restaurant is pretty fancy looking with great and spacious seating. you have a lot of space to breath and walk. coming to food. we were served starters on the table. the starters tasted pretty good, with a chicken with seasoning being very good (some of friends, dint enjoy it much though). the main course had a decent spread, esp a lot of authentic south indian dishes, like rasam, sambhar, etc. what dint strike a chord was the spread of non veg. there were very less mutton dishes and no mutton starters. also the taste and flavours were kept at 'mild' level, may be because the target audience were foreigners. a good spread, with much more cuisines and some stronger flavours would have made me like it. nevertheless  the food and ambience is atleast a one a time checkout (and may be more, if you liked it). the waffels at the very end was brilliant. pretty good desserts collection !

so i came here for team lunch. my first time to itc grand and boy is thisplacehuge! i couldn't stop but admire the place.
now for the food, i had extremely high expectations for thisplacebut was disappointed badly. the spread was vast but it didn't taste any special and i have been to many buffets and i know it could be made special. it looked as if no extra effort was put into this(no offence to all the hard work done by everyone to have setup such a vast spread). 3 dishes, the south indian lamb curry, chicken in oyster sauce and another one which i don't remember was super salty. i don't know how the chef could have missed that. then there was another minced lamb gravy where the meat tasted raw. starters were less. the chicken and prawns starters were good. the south indian style fish gravy was excellent. tasted like my mom's fish gravy. that and white rice alone would make any fish gravy lover happy.
now to the service, i have been to cheaper buffet places and have seen more smiles and pleasantries. everyone seemed super dull. no matter how much i smiled or said thank you, the response was cold. was not expected from such a place. they did go out of their way to our requests and the senior most staff or manager or whatever were way better than the general staff.
i guess i went there in a super bad day and i got extremely unlucky that i couldn't enjoy it as much as others here have said.
i will try giving other restaurants/cafe inside a chance. so whether you will take the risk and pay so much from your own pocket and go is up to you. if asked me again, i would rather go elsewhere that charges half of this and enjoy my food.

thisplaceis perfect grandeur and you will be treated so good that you feel extra special. they serve only buffet and you have live kitchen mostly.
the starters are good, you have chinese counter, pizza, indian briyani and all tastes really good. but for the price paid i think they must serve something super good and different.
we were given a birthday cake as complimentary and that so nice of them. once in a while for a royal feast thisplaceis remarkable. cheers 🤘

one beautifulplaceto have a peaceful lunch!
madras pavillion is known for its ambience but i would say its really great in ambience and as well as the food! the staffs were veryyy kind and greeted us well.

the buffet costs 2175 including tax per person. they had a huge variety of dishes! both veg and non veg had equal number of dishes! the chicken varieties were really good! the peri peri chicken ofcourse was my favourite!
the pork dish wasnt good enough! it wasnt cooked properly! the fish fingers were also a bit hard.
they had 4 types of biryani, among which mutton was my favourite❤️. they had chat counters, north indian dishes too.

lastly the desserts were amazingly super. the mousse cakes and icecream and coffee cake was marvellous❤️.

rating would be-
food-4/5
ambience-5/5
service-5/5

i had recently visited thisplaceand i was surprised and very impressed with their street food sunday brunch. they had different counters and stations from all countries showcasing their different street foods.

as i belong from delhi i am by default a street food lover, i was quite impressed with the dilli chaat station.

i would strongly recommend thisplaceto everyone and will myself will come back whenever next i am in chennai.

i had been to thisplaceyesterday with my family for dinner on an occasion to celebrate our wedding anniversary. to start with the positive, food was great infact every dish was made to perfection and for sure 5 star standard. but surprised they don't have pani puri and live counters when they say it is a multi cuisine restaurant and that was a great miss.
but the real.bad thing is the service in the restaurant. i had a month old baby with me and no special care was taken, though corner seat was given on request. for feeding we were running around to find aplacebut no one helped us. well this was taken care in leela they gave us a conference room and that was very helpful. also, noticed there are argument between their service staff and realised they have a serious problem with the service staff. may be they have to address this.
we were given a cake with no candle to light it is almost like you cut it or not we don't care here is your little cake so funny...
over all theplacewas well maintained and good but madras pavillion has a serious staff issue that needs to be fixed. would like to end in a good note, their rasagulla was so good i can eat at least 10 of them. i don't know if i will recommend this restaurant for a family...

*the perfect sunday brunch hotspot*
if you are in chennai and ever want to treat yourself and ensure you have had the best of experiences with a food buffet plus the luxury service then madras pavilion at the itc grand chola is theplaceto hit. they will make you lazy. the interactive chefs stations are for sure exciting but so is the whole widespread. after every pillar lies a surprise of goodness. you are will experience foodcoma and yet want to keep walking around for the next courses, when you find chefs and servers feeding you more on the table.
thanks for the wonderful experience team madras pavilion will see you guys soon.

i liked the shear grandeur of thisplaceduring my last visit! i was not greatly impressed by the dinner buffet spread though. i would have liked to see more options for vegetarians and the cost could have been lower for the variety offered. however i plan to visit royal vega next time and hope it tastes better. i am giivng a 3 rating just for the interiors

after a month's diet, this was my cheat meal. what otherplacecan do justice, other than a global cuisine for an animal waiting to feast ? 😎 the buffet spread is pretty huge and you would surely get lost into the maze, unless your plan prior on how you're gonna eat ! 😂

the cuisine ranges from indian to american to japanese to mexican to chinese to italian, so name your dish it'll be on your table. there were a lot of items we went through just mentioning my favorite ones - grilled panner, chilli chicken, prawn tandoori, mocktails, pancakes, mini burgers and the desserts were a total bliss !! ✌🏾

unlike other places there are even multiple live counters (mini burger, pizza, chat)

and there was a unlimited drinks offer on the imported branded alcohols for 500/person. cool right ? tasted one of the finest whiskeys (ballentines) vodka (belvedere) and champagne (dom perignon) brandy (hennessy cognac) and the best part is they provide side dishes for separate drinks ! ✌🏾

verdict :
ambience - 5/5
service - 5/5
food - 4/5
cost - 3/5
parking - valet parking available.

madras pavilion in itc grand chola is officially the grandest and most royalplacein chennai to have breakfast. they have the most elaborate breakfast buffet ranging from fruits, bakery, yogurts, chai, coffee, south indian, continental, non veg. etc etc.
for the saffron lovers, the saffron yogurt in this restaurant is divine. i can go again and again just to have that. delicious pasta, hash browns, chocolate and orange muffins. they have the max and the best variety of muffins compared to all the other hotels in chennai.
welcoming ambience, courteous staff and out of the world food makes thisplacea must visit.

oh yes, 'grand' it was, with uniformed people all around, welcoming, escorting and serving the guests. the ambience was majestic, and 'cholas' were depicted in a wonderful piece of art.
the spread in madras pavilion was a huge one, that began with chunks of cheese to other cooked delicacies. the starters included chicken reshmi kebab, chicken shahi kebab, fish fillet tikka, prawn kebab, meat ball, paneer tikka, mixed vegetable cutlet. these were fairly good, and we stuffed generously. the drinks began arriving, and soon our table had long island iced tea (it's a 5-in-1 drink), red and white wine, and all sorts of mocktails, later followed by scotch.
the main course was a lavish affair, starting off with breads and buns with hot cream of chicken and cream of tomato soup and then ranging from fried rice, biriyani, naan, kulcha, 4 preps of chicken, 2 of mutton, 2 of fish, 1 each of pork, beef, squid, paneer, mushroom and another vegan item, to even curd rice and rasam.
the desserts too had variety of offerings. green apples, 6 types of cake slices, along with gulab jamun, malpua, bread n butter pudding, pancakes, and some other sweets along with two flavours of ice cream.
the food was topnotch, though a few of the dishes might taste different from the traditional way of cooking, as they put equal emphasis on hygiene as much to taste. this is not aplacewhere we can afford to hangout often, but it is worth a one-time visit for sure.
