madras pavilion - itc grand chola

could have been a better menu with better taste. 3800 for abuffetseems to be pretty high for this quality of food.

so i came here for team lunch. my first time to itc grand and boy is this place huge! i couldn't stop but admire the place.
now for the food, i had extremely high expectations for this place but was disappointed badly. the spread was vast but it didn't taste any special and i have been to many buffets and i know it could be made special. it looked as if no extra effort was put into this(no offence to all the hard work done by everyone to have setup such a vast spread). 3 dishes, the south indian lamb curry, chicken in oyster sauce and another one which i don't remember was super salty. i don't know how the chef could have missed that. then there was another minced lamb gravy where the meat tasted raw. starters were less. the chicken and prawns starters were good. the south indian style fish gravy was excellent. tasted like my mom's fish gravy. that and white rice alone would make any fish gravy lover happy.
now to the service, i have been to cheaperbuffetplaces and have seen more smiles and pleasantries. everyone seemed super dull. no matter how much i smiled or said thank you, the response was cold. was not expected from such a place. they did go out of their way to our requests and the senior most staff or manager or whatever were way better than the general staff.
i guess i went there in a super bad day and i got extremely unlucky that i couldn't enjoy it as much as others here have said.
i will try giving other restaurants/cafe inside a chance. so whether you will take the risk and pay so much from your own pocket and go is up to you. if asked me again, i would rather go elsewhere that charges half of this and enjoy my food.

greatbuffetand ambience but the service and hospitality is simply out of the world.

exemplarybuffetwith variety of dishes from various cuisines. must try for all the foodies out there. worthy of the price you pay for it. known for it's largestbuffetin chennai. went there for my girl's birthday lunch. it was nice of them to serve us with the complimentary birthday cake. the cake was delicious too.

this place is perfect grandeur and you will be treated so good that you feel extra special. they serve onlybuffetand you have live kitchen mostly.
the starters are good, you have chinese counter, pizza, indian briyani and all tastes really good. but for the price paid i think they must serve something super good and different.
we were given a birthday cake as complimentary and that so nice of them. once in a while for a royal feast this place is remarkable. cheers 🤘

simply awesome. one brilliant experience with top class dishes. the ambience is just extraordinary. very friendly service by the staff. i wanna go again n again. wide spreadbuffetfor dinner including pork, beef, lamb, prawns n a lavish spread for veg dishes too.

madras pavillion is known for its ambience but i would say its really great in ambience and as well as the food! the staffs were veryyy kind and greeted us well.

thebuffetcosts 2175 including tax per person. they had a huge variety of dishes! both veg and non veg had equal number of dishes! the chicken varieties were really good! the peri peri chicken ofcourse was my favourite!
the pork dish wasnt good enough! it wasnt cooked properly! the fish fingers were also a bit hard.
they had 4 types of biryani, among which mutton was my favourite❤️. they had chat counters, north indian dishes too.

lastly the desserts were amazingly super. the mousse cakes and icecream and coffee cake was marvellous❤️.

went on a saturday evening with a bunch of friends for the dinnerbuffetwith drinks included. at the price rs 3000, the range of drinks included was good which made up for the food which was below par. veg starters were very limited and even the main course did not attract either for both veg and non veg. service was poor when you are such a bigger brand!!

very awesome place. visit it once in your life. food is too good. value for money. staff is really humble, courteous and helpful. the entrance is like u are entering in a palace. the spread ofbuffetis very wide, distinctive and appealing. all the dishes were very rich in taste and texture.

went there for the sunday brunch... it's better to book a table and if you are going for a occasion they do special arrangements. it's a widespreadbuffetwith separate counters for each kind of cuisine like salad section,asian , south indian , continental, live counter for kababs and sea food, desert counter . seating is spacious and comfortable. they kept serving hot dishes from live counter one after other from the time we were seated until we got up for about 2 hrs . every one of them soft , succulent and cooked perfectly. every dish on thebuffetwas good but a special mention to orange glazed duck ( meat was literally falling off bone ) and chicken dum biryani ( got reminded of kolkata biryani with no masala but lots of flavour) . coming to the downside the soup was cold and desert section was mostly continental with less indian sweets . friendly staff , good ambience... enjoyed the meal thoroughly .

these people don't know if a single indian visitor comes for abuffet, what should be done . took them ten mins to allot me a seat , when i could see a few around .
not expected from a brand like itc. they should be more caring and careful.
but with such a spread the management might be thinking that service is not important in thebuffetarea .

went dinner for ma bday treat, enjoyed the place with hell lot ofbuffetmenu, they can give better starters, service was too good, they gave complimentary cake aswell :)

we decided to go for the lunchbuffetsince we were famished and were certainly not disappointed. such a wide spread and everything was top notch. right from the salads to the desserts, yummy! i was only disappointed with the chicken kebab but the other dishes more than made up for it.

if you are in chennai and ever want to treat yourself and ensure you have had the best of experiences with a foodbuffetplus the luxury service then madras pavilion at the itc grand chola is the place to hit. they will make you lazy. the interactive chefs stations are for sure exciting but so is the whole widespread. after every pillar lies a surprise of goodness. you are will experience foodcoma and yet want to keep walking around for the next courses, when you find chefs and servers feeding you more on the table.

i liked the shear grandeur of this place during my last visit! i was not greatly impressed by the dinnerbuffetspread though. i would have liked to see more options for vegetarians and the cost could have been lower for the variety offered. however i plan to visit royal vega next time and hope it tastes better. i am giivng a 3 rating just for the interiors
