perfect burgers.. a big problem with most hamburgers are no flavor greaseballs smothered in cheese.luxeserves excellent choice beef, expertly cooked, that tasted like a steak, and the ingredients were amazingly fresh! everything is better served in a hip downtown spot with a dj, andluxedidn't disapoint. i am astonished to how cheap it all was.

nothingluxeabout it.. i went toluxethe night of the water fire fund raiser, which was only a half water fire. the restaurant was packed so we sat outside. we waited 15 minutes before we were even approached by a server. i ordered a turkey burger. the turkey burger was so burnt the char on top of the patty was crunchy. when i sent it back and refused another one i ordered dessert. the waitress informed me they would comp my dessert. thanks for comping my 5 dollar desert when i have to pay 10.00 for a inedible burger.
i will never go back to luxe. the quality of the food is chain worthy. how they could serve a burger that burnt and think thats ok is an outrage.i understand being overwhelmed by traffic, but if a half water fire sent them in that much of downward spiral, i can only imagine how bad the food will be when the seasons in full swing.
major disappointment!

during our trip to providence ri we were happy to discover a great burger spot, luxeburger bar. they specialize in custom burgers you create yourself from a huge list of ingredients that you check off with a little pencil. their burgers are huge! they also have a build your own mac-n-cheese menu that's nothing to sneeze at. but for us, the piece de resistance were the gorgonzola tater tots - o.m.g. yum! i loved them so much i created a copycat recipe to make them at home since i don't live in ri.(foodieontheside.com/gorgonzola-tater-tots)  if you look at their menu it's easy to see that these guys are the ultimate, from their tempura fried bacon burger to their jumbo kitchen sink cookie. thanks for the great food, luxe! if i'm ever i'm in town again, i'll def be back!

after dining atluxeburger, i immediately sensed this was the perfect place for the picky and indecisive. oh and it’s the perfect place for everyone else too, especially if you love burgers! located in the heart of downtown providence, luxeoffers a laundry list of toppings, sauces, and fixin’s to pave the way to your own cheeseburger nirvana.

room for improvement 4 sure. so, three of us made our way down to providence for a burger and bbq crawl.
my main objective was to hit a place called harry's bar & burger. the other stops were mainly to indulge the rest of the away team. not wanting to eat what i hoped to be the best, first, we hitluxeas soon as we arrived.
they had just unlocked the doors as we entered. despite the tacky, retro, décor it was a clean and inviting atmosphere. the server was friendly, knowledgeable and the service was very quick. not wanting to load up, the three of us opted to split two burgers. rings, fries and some mac/cheese were agreed upon for sides. everything came pretty quick which might have been great except that a lot of the food had that rushed feel to it. out of the three of us, two liked the rings. they were of the bread crump type, a little light on the seasoning but crispy and somewhat flavorful. the traditional fries were the frozen kind and needed more cooking time. they were not golden brown and certainly not crispy. all three of us liked the plain mac&cheese although i thought it could use a bit more flavor, it was creamy and the pasta was still al dente.
k. none of us liked the burgers. we ordered one kobe and one traditional. one was to be med/rare and the other one med. both burgers arrived as if they were meant to be served on a raw bar along with oysters and little necks. we didn't order those! they're not even on the menu! i said, it was a burger bar! pay attention! the cheese wasn't even melted. in the end, there was more burger left over than eaten. had this been our main and only stop i probably would have sent them back. as it was, we just took a few bites, observed and discussed how disappointed we were, told the server everything was great and got the hell out of there. under other circumstance, it would have been easy to put that experience behind and move on but…..
my friend had told me that harry's bar & burger was owned by the same conglomerate as luxe. gulp, i struggled to take my anticipation of that place down a notch. easier said then done. curious to know how that went?
well, read my review for that place! after all this was about theluxeso pack up and move on. we did.

burger convert. growing up i was never a big fan of burgers in general (i know, what was i thinking?) butluxeburger was part of my burger lover transformation! i hate onions, and i love that i can pick my own toppings so that no rogue onions get tossed into the mix. recently i've been getting bacon, cheddar and ranch dressing. the milkshakes are also amazing - i had strawberry (with no alcohol) and it was one of the best i've had. not too sweet with the perfect amount of fresh strawberries.

on a friday or saturday night in the summer, sitting outside is great. there is usually music playing, either drifting over from waterplace park or from a live musician who is set up to play for the capital grill, which is right across the walkway. we have never had slow service or cold food.

centrally located, inexpensive comfort food.luxeis sort of like dressed up sports bar with a build-a-burger menu. the red neon lights in the bar and the dark interiors lend a hand in making the diner banquets seem a little more fancy than friendly's. my wife and i met atluxedue to its central location -- just down the hill from the commuter rail/amtrak station where i was getting off the train. she had a pulled pork sandwich, which was served with cole slaw on top. the pulled pork was sweet more than spicy, tender and juicy rather than stringy and dry. i had the $6.99 gold bar meat -- some sort of house blend from hereford cow cuts including of sirloin & chuck that supposedly is sourced from local, small farms. it was served medium rare and came warm and red, as promised. i topped my burger with swiss cheese, sauteed onions and mayo (plus, added sauteed mushrooms for a buck extra). it was juicy and delicious. coke, ginger ale and sprite are $2 for a bottomless glass. you can also get specialty root beer, orange and cream soda in a bottle for $4.

2 words... over priced. nice looking place with good beer selection, many options on the menu and an amazing selection of items for the "build your own burger" including kobe beef and fancy cheese. yet my $13luxeburger tasted the same as the burger i had at johnny rockets a few days ago. i would not go again......
