how could you not love it?!. you practically make it yourself! ok, try this, jarlsburg swiss, coleslaw, black pastrami, and special sauce on a sesame seeded bun. the only improvement could have been an option for a rye bun with caraway seeds.greatburger, and definitely a knotch up from five guys! service was good. they could stand to leave more room around tables as it's sort of like sardines in there. price is in line with other gourmet burgers. i say try it!

during our trip to providence ri we were happy to discover agreatburger spot, luxe burger bar. they specialize in custom burgers you create yourself from a huge list of ingredients that you check off with a little pencil. their burgers are huge! they also have a build your own mac-n-cheese menu that's nothing to sneeze at. but for us, the piece de resistance were the gorgonzola tater tots - o.m.g. yum! i loved them so much i created a copycat recipe to make them at home since i don't live in ri.(foodieontheside.com/gorgonzola-tater-tots)  if you look at their menu it's easy to see that these guys are the ultimate, from their tempura fried bacon burger to their jumbo kitchen sink cookie. thanks for thegreatfood, luxe! if i'm ever i'm in town again, i'll def be back!

great burgers, greatspot.greatplace to grab a beer and a quick burger. burgers are pretty good, and the bar food is equally as tasty. not a knock-your-socks off place, but it is a burger joint. i like to go there from time to time.

room for improvement 4 sure. so, three of us made our way down to providence for a burger and bbq crawl.
my main objective was to hit a place called harry's bar & burger. the other stops were mainly to indulge the rest of the away team. not wanting to eat what i hoped to be the best, first, we hit luxe as soon as we arrived.
they had just unlocked the doors as we entered. despite the tacky, retro, décor it was a clean and inviting atmosphere. the server was friendly, knowledgeable and the service was very quick. not wanting to load up, the three of us opted to split two burgers. rings, fries and some mac/cheese were agreed upon for sides. everything came pretty quick which might have beengreatexcept that a lot of the food had that rushed feel to it. out of the three of us, two liked the rings. they were of the bread crump type, a little light on the seasoning but crispy and somewhat flavorful. the traditional fries were the frozen kind and needed more cooking time. they were not golden brown and certainly not crispy. all three of us liked the plain mac&cheese although i thought it could use a bit more flavor, it was creamy and the pasta was still al dente.
k. none of us liked the burgers. we ordered one kobe and one traditional. one was to be med/rare and the other one med. both burgers arrived as if they were meant to be served on a raw bar along with oysters and little necks. we didn't order those! they're not even on the menu! i said, it was a burger bar! pay attention! the cheese wasn't even melted. in the end, there was more burger left over than eaten. had this been our main and only stop i probably would have sent them back. as it was, we just took a few bites, observed and discussed how disappointed we were, told the server everything wasgreatand got the hell out of there. under other circumstance, it would have been easy to put that experience behind and move on but…..
my friend had told me that harry's bar & burger was owned by the same conglomerate as luxe. gulp, i struggled to take my anticipation of that place down a notch. easier said then done. curious to know how that went?
well, read my review for that place! after all this was about the luxe so pack up and move on. we did.
