luxe burger bar

ironic. i skipped the highly recommended burger but was pumped when i got a delicious & wonderful ceasar salad. (more oil based, not blobs of dressing based)
will go back when i get the chance.

fake pop art burgers. the burgers are mediocre at best but at least the prices are reasonable for a faux upscale downtown bar. the decor is fake warhol, a parody i suppose and certainly enough to fool the clientele who probably all own a kinkade or two. a superficial place for superficial people, but you could do worse.

great concept. build your own burger there at the table with the check-off sheet. burger did not disappoint and the macaroni and cheese was wonderful. sat outside and enjoyed the music coming from capital grille.

upscale burgers. i just came from this place at 10:00pm on a saturday night with a buddy of mine. they told the people in front of us that there was about a 30 minute wait. we went up to the bar and found two chairs so we got lucky there. i made a burger with kobe beef, american cheese, baby lettuce, caramelized onions, and roasted red peppers. my friend had the second biggest burger on the menu which was death by burger, it was a double patty, bacon, egg, and a few other things i forget. the food came out very quickly. everything was delicious. the bartenders were not the best but we were only at the bar because there was a long wait. we definitely will be returning. it can get a little messy so if your all dressed up, be careful. all in all, well worth the money, we both left ready for a nap.

succelent and cheap!. i went tuesday, and they sell their gold-label burger with a miller lite for 8 dollars. it was delicious and incredibly cheap! the toppings were awesome, and the sweet potato fries were perfectly crisp! five stars!

centrally located, inexpensive comfort food. luxe is sort of like dressed up sports bar with a build-a-burger menu. the red neon lights in the bar and the dark interiors lend a hand in making the diner banquets seem a little more fancy than friendly's. my wife and i met at luxe due to its central location -- just down the hill from the commuter rail/amtrak station where i was getting off the train. she had a pulled pork sandwich, which was served with cole slaw on top. the pulled pork was sweet more than spicy, tender and juicy rather than stringy and dry. i had the $6.99 gold bar meat -- some sort of house blend from hereford cow cuts including of sirloin & chuck that supposedly is sourced from local, small farms. it was served medium rare and came warm and red, as promised. i topped my burger with swiss cheese, sauteed onions and mayo (plus, added sauteed mushrooms for a buck extra). it was juicy and delicious. coke, ginger ale and sprite are $2 for a bottomless glass. you can also get specialty root beer, orange and cream soda in a bottle for $4.

excellent - sit inside. our party of four went here last night for dinner, we had reservations for 7:45 but arrived an hour early and they seated us almost immediately. hostess was friendly and warm, and our waitress was totally on the ball. we loved the grown-up, 'lounge' vibe of the place and really loved the food -- high quality, customized burgers, mac & cheese, hot dogs, etc. nothing fancy but the quality was really good, especially the teenie weenie appetizer platter which had three tiny little hot dogs with different toppings served on buttered brioche rolls. addictive. oh yeah, and the lava lamp cocktail with the jello shot was such a cool and funky drink!

update: one word of caution -- subsequent visits have revealed their achilles heel, namely if you sit outside you will generally get bad service and cold food. unless you are there just to drink and socialize, you are better off sitting inside. it is a shame really since the outside patio area is really nice on a hot summer evening. but ice cold french fries don't do it for me.

best burger in rhode island. perfectly cooked and wonderfully juicy. the toppings were excellent, and the bread was the best i've had.

taste and quality!. wonderful flavor and definitely not overpriced. it's a delicious joint to chill and enjoy a nice burger in style. their 'gold label' beef is choice hereford that melts in your mouth, and for 7 bucks a burger it's just amazing. try the nachos too, but only with friends. the chili and other toppings were amazing!

2 words... over priced. nice looking place with good beer selection, many options on the menu and an amazing selection of items for the "build your own burger" including kobe beef and fancy cheese. yet my $13 luxe burger tasted the same as the burger i had at johnny rockets a few days ago. i would not go again......
