the line begins behind me. just when you think you figured it all out. . . someone throws you a curve. i thought i understood all aboutmexicanfood. to me it all tastes pretty good. somemexicanand tex-mex restaurants are better than others, and i guess there are few bad ones in north texas but what fooled me was how great los molcajetes really is. i don't know what they do, but from the salsa and tortilla chips they serve at the table, to the entree it is magnificent. they serve two salsas a thin, rustic tomato-based pico de gallo type salsa which has a definite cilantro tang, and a piquant habanero salsa which comes in a smaller plastic cup. a little of this goes a long way. i had the mole enchiladas (see photo). their version of this popular dish was great! they have about twenty different daily lunch specials. curiously, i used to think that this restaurant was sort of fancy, but it is very casual with concrete floors, wooden tables and several televisions hanging throughout the main dining area. they also have a full bar. the food came out really fast too. the server remarked that after the lunch crowd the food preparation takes no time at all. what a surprise this was to find such a good restaurant in my neck of the woods. you learn something new everyday!
