good portions, fresh food. good portions and prices, and almost all hispanic waitstaff. my hubby is super picky about menudo, but will eat it here. kids meals are big portions. salsa is pretty good (too many chunks of onion to be great).
we eat here every few months.

great food - great ritas!. your 1st time should include the los molcajetes especial. chicken/beef fajitas, grilled shrimp, and grilled quail. it comes with charro beans and rice. a lot of great food.

their salsa rojo is fresh and very good. the salsa verde is quite often like getting bitch-slapped (i love it!).

if you drink (bless you), order 1 frozen herradura margarita. you'll only need one.

grody to the max! i have been 3 times didn't like any of them. ripped me off on the margerita i ordered by hardly putting any liquor in it at all. nast soup. my parents decided to try it recently with their friends. my dad loves mexican food and will even eat panchos... he didn't even like it!!! don't bother wasting your time and money to go here.

my favorite mexican food place. i love their salsa (very cilantro-y) and i love their queso. i get the shrimp quesadillas, (which are stuffed with baby shrimps) or the cameron's mexicana which are jumbo shrimp with a chunky stewed ranchero sauce and jalapenos. the swirl margarita's will also throw you on your bum, they are pretty good.

good food for the price. the fajitas are excellent, and the salsa is fantastic. the portions are large and the prices are reasonable. stay away from the flautas, they are the only thing on the menu that i would never order again. happy hour can get you a $2.50 small maragarita. the strawberry maragaritas are awesome too!

this is not good mexican food. if you like places like el fenix, you will like this place. just don't expect it to be anything like the mexican restaurants on main st. or northside drive.

and killer margaritas! no skimping on tequila in this place.

best in metroplex. i lived in san diego for 5 years and anyone who has been there knows their mexican food is better than mexico's and los molcajetes is by far the best mexican food in the metroplex. their specialty is enchiladas but everything on the menu is good. i have been to all of the so-called best resturants in the area (not just mexican) and esperanza's is the only place that holds a candle to it.
