too much praise = impossible. this place is exquisite. it isn't white table cloths and fine china, but the food is excellent, definitely the bestmexicani've had in columbus.

my understanding is that this restaurant is the store-front expansion of a columbus taco truck. if so, their transition to brick & mortar restaurant was well-done. this place is small and tucked away in a small strip mall 120 yards off bethel road. the restaurant is small with limited seating and a fully visible kitchen.

you order from a counter, and they bring the food to your table. the service is exceedingly friendly. food didn't take long to arrive, but didn't turn around so fast that you're suspicious that it's pre-made or fresh from the microwave.

the food is in a word - awesome. i got the tacos gauchos (if a place puts their name on a menu item, i make a point to order it) and a taco al pastor (they say they have the best in town, so i needed to try). both were excellent.

the tacos guachos was grilled steak, fajitas vegetables, cheese, and covered in bacon. it came with a side of tortillas. they bring limes and pickled habaneros to the table, along with several kinds of salsa which really spices things up and elevated my meal.

and the taco al pastor was dynamite. it was a mix of tender and juicy and crispy and came with a slice of fresh pineapple on top which i was not excited about conceptually but was utterly delicious and a very nice complement to the meat.

this place is also affordable, and a good value. i can't recommend it highly enough.

this ismexicanfood, not american mex. food here is fantastic and authentic, and at good prices. i'm cracked up by the person who gave the place a negative review because they didn't get chips and salsa. there are already dozens of generic am-mex places in town where you can get your crunchy tacos, cheese enchiladas, salsa and chips, guacamole, etc; in fact there's one right around the corner on bethel rd. this is not that kind of place. this is the real deal, and by far the best realmexicanfood in columbus.

the taqueria grew out of one of columbus’ most popular and most decorated taco trucks, also called los guachos , which we first learned about through the work of taco trucks columbus (link above goes to their post). the brick-and-mortar space signified a success for the taco truck world, as one truck had done well enough to establish itself permanently (with a second location in gahanna coming soon!). alongside the taco trucks scattered around the city, i’d put los guachos taqueria as one of our best – and most authentic –mexicanrestaurants. maybe my years of food writing have led to some type of snobbery, but in many ways i’m happy to have moved past the rice/beans/cheese/margarita/corona type ofmexicanrestaurant. those restaura

when my friend recommended this restaurant to me, i was tempted to brush it off; after all, he is from vermont and i'm from california and we were in ohio (not really known formexicanfood, obviously, though certainly known for food!). most of my friends do not know whatmexicanfood is because they have only been to chipotle or whatever passes as american mexican.
but this was different! it wasn't a novelty restaurant like most. it was something a normal person would eat for a normal meal - fresh, light and delicious, not heavy and saturated with god knows what. i would definitely recommend it!

i challenge you to find better. been here at least 15 times, and i always feel guilty for paying so little for such great food. you just can't go wrong. and the staff is super friendly, thank god for this place.

yum yum yum. oh my gosh, i love this place more and more every time i visit it. and i visit a lot. the food is just delicious and i don't see how they stay in business at these prices. i'm not complaining. but if you are hesitant, don't be. yeah, it's strip mall. but in columbus, that means nothing in terms of the quality of food. this place is darn good. as far as i can see, not one bad review. that should tell you something.
p.s. i'm especially fond of the pastor volcanos.

fantastic!!. it's so great to have a delicious and truly inexpensive littlemexicanjoint in the neighborhood! my husband had the pastor torta and said it's one of the best sandwiches he's ever had. i had the pastor volcanes, and it was yummy as could be.

if you're tired of generic, over-cheesedmexicanfood, you have to try this place.

i like the funky handcarved chairs, too.

simply the best place to get truly (and i hate using this phrase... lol) authenticmexicanstreet food tacos in a brick and mortar setting. the al pastor is marvelous and deserves all the accolades in the other reviews. i also highly recommend the brisket, especially the brisket quesadilla. the bowls of habanero and onion mix, the lime wedges and the bowls of pickled jalapenos with cauliflower and carrots (you may have to to request this one) they bring to the table are above and beyond any othermexicanestablishment in central ohio. check out their two for one tacos al pastor on mondays after 4 pm.

wow!. i am the one who always orders nachos at amexicanrestaurant. boring!!! so when we went to this authenticmexicaneatery i didn't think i would find something for me. i had the gringas which include pork, cheese, onions, and cilantro on a flour tortilla. it also had a surprise of pineapple which was amazing. the pork was tender and full of flavor. the pineapple added just the right amount of flavor to balance out the onions and cilantro. i couldn't stop eating. i am definitely going back soon. the only thing to make it complete was if they had an ice cold tecate to go with the tasty food.

taco trucks have become one of columbus' hottest foodie trends over the past few years. the popularity has increased so much that los gauchos has added a brick-and-mortar restaurant to supplement its mobile food operation . the specialty of los gauchos' food truck is tacos el pastor (thinkmexicanshawarma), an item that might not appeal to vegetarians. the restaurant, however, has a vegetarian burrito and a veggie quesadilla on the menu, allowing vegetarians to enjoy the taste of authenticmexicanfare. there is seating for about 30 inside los gauchos. diners can enjoy television broadcastingmexicanmusic videos and soccer games. los gauchos is also set up for take-out business. the vegetarian burrito is made with red and green peppers, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. the griddled veggies give the burrito great flavor, and the crema adds a mouth-watering savory character to amexicanclassic. los gauchos' burritos are normal size as opposed to its domestic cousin, the missi
