los chilitos taco and tequila house

delicious!. i went to los chilitos for the first time last night, and it was great! there was a bit of a line to get in, but that's to be expected on a hot saturday night. it didn't seem that long of a wait anyways, and the staff were always checking for finished diners to make sure they let as many people in as quickly as possible. thefoodwas really hot and delicious, and the drinks were good. service was also good, and fast! i have no idea what other people are complaining about, i'd definitely go here again!

greatfoodand incredible atmosphere. i don't get the reason why canadians like their pubs dark and smelling like spilled beer and frying oil... los chilitos is warm, bright and it smells like home.

very cheap waitress tried to charge us two times for tip and was generally bad servicefoodwas alright though

possibly substituted gasoline for tequila. our whole dinniing experience was terrible from the moment we entered. terrible service, even worsefoodand could not choke back the gasoline margaritas. server walked away when an attempt was made to express our concerns. left hungry wishing we would have had mcdonald's... how is this place still open!!! turn back while you still can.

great experiencce. had mother's day late lunch at los chilitos. we've travelled to mexico many times and always eat more with the locals then on the tourist side. we definately enjoyed the atmosphere, music andfoodwas delicious. higly recommend the enmoladas with a chalada!! one recomendation is to ask for some chips and salsa to munch on as thefoodtook a bit to prepare. we weren't in a hurry but a snack would have been a good idea.

this is just wrong...... talk about a new and underhanded way to make outrageous prices appear less offensive. last night my husband sister and i went to los cholitos to give it a try, based on all the great reviews. i don't know what your standards are, but waiting 45 minutes for food, gettingfoodthat was barely warm puts this firmly on my 'don't waste your time' and 'never going back' list. what really did it for us, was to find out that you actually pay an additional $3.0 on top of $16 just to get meat in your burrito. that's just crazy.

30 minutes of my life will never get back-you don't need to go there thefoodis not that great anyways.. i have always been aware of the bad service at this restaurant and the ok food, some friends and i however decided to give it a try again as we walked by and were tempted to sit on the patio on a nice sunday afternoon, this time was worst that in previous visits. the server was' nice' to acknowledge us after 10 minutes...and never came back again to check what we wanted for drinks.there were some other servers taking care of the patio section but i guess our table was not part of their responsibilities because they did not even care to look towards our table, when we finally got one of the other staff members attention we asked him if he could please call our server as we had not even been asked what were we ordering for drinks, of course he did not offered to get us any...i guess that would had been a nice thing to do to keep us at least happy while waiting.....and we waited and waited ...oh yes and as we walked away this other server said i am sorry your server is caught up....i know you can get bus,y but i guess that is when common sense comes handy and who is not that busy can jump in and help the rest of the members in the team. i think we will not miss going back, thefoodand place is mediocre anyways.

muy delicioso. tried this place recently because of a groupon. at first, pumped about going but then dreading it as we read more and more negative reviews.

we were shocked in a good way; authentic mexicanfoodand much better than tu tierra which was a huge disappointment for us. we spend a lot of time in a lot of off-the-beaten-path parts of mexico and so we know mexican food.

our faves were the yummy green rice and the chorizo quesidillas, plus the tacos pastor were sublime. the only thing that would make it perfect would be mexican coke to drink! they do have plenty of flavours of mexican sodas though. service was knowledgeable, efficient, and pleasant.

i am thinking they have a new chef or owners now and that's why previous reviews have been so negative. greatfoodand we'll be back!

the service here was so bad. just be aware that they add a mandatory 15% tip if your bill is over a 100 dollars. i have never heard of such bs and the waitress doesn't even give you a heads up that they did that. she was such a bad waitress she didn't even deserve a 5% tip and we were only 5 people there. thefoodwas good but the drinks were just ok. i wouldn't go back

so good!. i love los chilitos. i'm not sure why it doesn't have a higher rating. thefoodis so fresh and delicious, and their beergaritas are really good. the service isn't the greatest, but it isn't bad either. they make sure to open up tables as fast as possible though, which i appreciated. this is my new go-to mexican restaurant!

we went there on monday for their all day happy hour! nachos were half off and tacos were $3. not bad at all. we also got some margaritas!foodtasted good but the cheese on their nachos wasn't meant for nachos. it was pretty hard and had no pull.

this place has a very cool feel to it and a nice patio that is great to sit at to people watch on 17th ave , if your into that kind of thing i noticed the patio was packed on this nice day, so we elected to sit indoors, the decor is certainly latin and really nice colourful paint and pictures on the walls, the menu was simple and had a nice variety, we were seated in a corner right under one of the speakers , which was blaring latin music, which i normally like, but on this night i found it way to loud, to the point we moved to another table, however that turned out to be not much better as a table of patrons next to us had to practically shout to converse, so on that note, they need to tone down the music a bit, i think you need to have it loud enough to hear well but not so loud you have to raise your voice a lot, it is part of the ambience but needs to be controlled.

when we ordered they were out of 3 of the 4 items we ordered, the server while friendly was inept and not very efficient, i got the distinct impression, she would rather have been elsewhere, thefoodwhen we got it, and  took awhile was very good , hot flavorful and tastefully arranged, if not for the racket,the poor service and the fact they were out of a lot of items, i would certainly have rated them higher as thefoodwas good.i will give them another try some other time

this resultant is awful!!foodlooked okay but sent back twice. 3/6 meals went back for random reasons. not even eatable one time! drinks were so bad. mexican restaurants should not make bad sugary margaritas with zero presentation they are insulting to the mexican way in terms of both quality and service. sucked! sorry, wish i could be somewhat positive but i got nothing. except it was super sunny! don't go here. we aren't going back.

my best friend married a mexican girl and she's always unimpressed when we come to a place like this -- trendy and expensive -- because she makes better at home. mexicanfoodis comfort food, streetfoodbasically. my mom lives in mexico and i'm used to 10 amazing tacos for 50 pesos (about $3) and the whole bottle of tequila for about $8. granted, i'm a bit jaded and we're not in mexico so it's not so much a reflection on this place in particular, but i get down there enough that i refuse to pay $10 for a taco. i can wait until christmas.
