lovely bouquet resort in the amazing paradise valley. we sat on the comfortable patio with eye catching views of the mountains. i tried the fish and chips. only the the highest quality ingredients were used. fresh halibut and the most delicious fries made to order. my husband had the short rib pizza made with house made fresh ricotta and well made and seasoned short rib. the food,serviceand atmosphere was excellent. prices run above average and portions are small but everything we tried was excellent.

never coming back. now that i've had a few days to cool down i feel i can write a review about my experience at lon's at hermosa. it saddens me to say that our experience was nothing like the exceptional reviews i read prior to bringing my family to lon's. if i could give it zero stars i would.

on thursday march 27th i brought my future in-laws (visiting from out of state & switzerland) to lon's to celebrate my recent engagement. let me first say the hostess and the cocktail waitress were wonderful and kind however once we were sat the night took a turn for the worst. our server jason was the most condescending, disrespectful person i have ever met. when asking simple questions about the menu (like portion size and if he would recommend ordering starters, etc) he responded with " well this isn't apple-bees" along with rolling his eyes and a horribly rude tone while reluctantly answering us. ( if you like being treated like second class citizens then eat at lon's and ask for jason)
he brought my future-mother-in-law to tears when she asked some questions about the salmon preparation and he came back with snarky remarks. we must have been inconveniencing him with normal questions.

i decided at this point to find a manager, sean d. the manager on board that night was also very rude, and unhelpful. his response to my report was "well do you just want to leave or have a new server" his attitude was very take it or leave it, not what you would expect of a restaurant of this caliber. he also screamed in my future father in laws face ( very professional)

needless to say we left and had to find another place to eat at 8:30 at night. it takes a lot of disrespect to up and leave a restaurant before even ordering, especially one you've had a reservation at for a week.

thursday was supposed to be a special night for my family and i, but because of sean and jason's horrible customerserviceour night was ruined. my family and i will never set foot in this establishment again.

i was more annoyed with the server i had, which can put a negative spin on ones dinning experience. the inattention to detail and the patronizing way i was talked to all throughout breakfast. then i had to grab her to pay my bill as well as remind her to pick up the check.
if i come back for dinner i would be intrigued to see how theserviceis again.

the worst dining experience. we went to lon's hoping to have a nice dinner for our anniversary. we weren't asking for perfection, but simply goodserviceand good food. what we got was the most rude server (a woman with a french accent) that i've ever had the experience of dealing with. the food was fine, not what we expected from a resort, but decent. however, theserviceruined the meal. we were treated as though we were a nuisance, not guests. i've been treated far better at mcdonald's, and many other supposedly inferior restaurants. to make it worse, as we left, we attempted to talk to someone at the desk to complain. no one was there; we waited but no one came. needless to say it put a cloud over what was supposed to be a happy anniversary celebration. we will never go back and i will tell as many people as i can of our negative experience.

whats all the excitement about brunch here?. went for sunday brunch expecting something special. the place has a great arizona southwestern ambience. the valet parking is nice - though shade would be good. theservicewas ok. found them short staffed..only 1 person at the front reception who talked on the phone for 5 minutes while we waited for her. the $24"brunch" was pretty weak. 3 muffins/rolls of modest quality and some old fruit presented in a non-exciting manner. the salad with scallops was tastey. skipped on desert as nothing looked all that great. so, this is a nice place but food and presentation are definitely not of the same class as the other local restaurants or resorts. try t. cooks, great ambience,better presentation and menu for brunch.

love this place. my husband and i go here every year for our anniversary. we absolutely love it. it encompasses everything great in a restaurant. the ambience is spectacular, especially on the patio under the lit trees and stars. the food is always perfect. everything we try is delicious. most of all, theserviceis wonderful. the maître d always recognizes us, the sommelier even put our name on a bottle of wine in their cellar that we liked and couldn't find anywhere else for the next time we dine with them. love love love lon's!

this place should be back on everyone's special occasion list! with a new chef e food is again at the level of the atmosphere. nothing wild here just great ingredients executed very well with greatserviceto match.
