best chain steakhouse in okc area. the first time i went to longhorn was shortly after the christmas blizzard. my friend and i got it to go. i think the whole trip took us about an hour even though it is about a 5 mile round trip. the food was delicious even after all that! i've been several times since then. it has always been great. i can even cut my steak, medium, with a plastic fork! i went again today. i think most people in okc have migrated to dallas for the weekend. the food was still great! i gave some friends a gift certificate at christmas for longhorn. they went to one near their house in ohio. they loved it! steak, salmon or chicken, it is always good.

very good food and service. my husband and i live in the quail springs area and have frequented longhorn steakhouse often. after reading other reviews on this location i can't even believe it is the same place! every time we go in to dine we are always greeted right away, never have to wait too long, even when they are busy, and the food is always fresh and delicious. i have ordered chicken, steak and fish off the menu and everything has always been prepared correctly. my steak, which i prefer rare/med-rare, is always cooked to perfection. the stuffed mushrooms are awesome, the parmesan chicken is wonderful and their beef filet is outstanding. i have absolutely no complaints about this establishment, which is probably why i frequent the place so often!

good, not prime. longhorn is a good, not prime, steakhouse. it is more along the lines of outback. we had the homemade chips and dip appetizer, which was a great, inexpensive starter. the warm honey wheat bread was served quickly and tasted great. we each had a caesar salad, which was served with light dressing, not smothered, and nice big flakes of parmesan cheese. the pepper mill is on the table, so you can help yourself to it.

we also ordered the two most popular entres: flo's filet and the parmesan crusted chicken breast. the filet is not what you get at the top steakhouses, but tasted good and was fairly tender. the chicken was fantastic, and the rice pilaf complimented it very well.

after all this, we were much too stuffed to try any of the desserts.

the decor and atmosphere are fairly average.

longhorn steakhouse overall. the only thing nice about longhorn is the appearance and atmosphere of the restaurant. first the hostess, tried to sit me and my husband at a huge booth that sits 8 people i told her no and that we want a regular size booth and she said she only has 2 large booths and again i told her no and i pointed at a reg size booth that was empty and she still had to say "well that's going to be a different server" which i don't care. we ordered the steaks with lobster tails and shrimp, my husbands lobster tail was under cooked and smelled bad which could of cause a major health problem. also his melted butter for his lobster tail was spilled all over his plate, he called it sloppy and messy. we had to wait about 5 mins for the waitress to come and take it away and get it corrected. the manager did come out to let us know he was sorry. before we left we seen the hostess again trying to sit a couple at a huge booth again and they also were telling her no, the hostess had an attitude. we are not ever going to eat here again, if one is looking for a great steak that would be cattlemens. the food here was not that great, not worth the money.

no flavor.......except for burned!. our meal began with a very nice greeting by the manager. he sat us at an oversized booth in the back and our waitress brought us some phenomenal honey wheat bread. that's where the good points run out. we started with the texas tonion which is clearly a deconstructed rip-off of outback's bloomin' onion, only not as good. it was waaaaaaaay too salty and the sauce (also a rip-off) had no real "zip". we asked for some ranch dressing to dip in, and eventually got it after waiting for 5 minutes for our waitress to pass back by and asking for it, again. by the time she returned, the onion was cold, though my bf ate it anyway. we both ordered the 18oz bone-in ribeyes (mine medium-rare, his medium) with baked potatoes as the side and caesar salads. i have never in my life seen a pink caesar dressing until tonight. it didn't look or taste anything like a caesar should. the steaks came out, and they were both wildly overdone. i do not send food back to the kitchen, so i began eating it, but after about 3 bites i knew i couldn't go any further. the char flavor was the only flavor at all. like i kept licking an old charcoal grill. no salt, no meaty flavor, just burned. i pushed it to the side and tried to eat around the bad spots in my baked potato. the waitress finally noticed (after letting my bf's tea run out again) that i wasn't eating. she asked if i wanted a box. i said "no, i'm not going to eat that. it's terrible, and i'm not blaming you at all, i simply can't eat it". she said "oh, do you want me to get a manager?" i'm going to take a side bar here and say this: why in the hell do no restaurants train their servers anymore?!? i've waited tables. it's a cardinal rule you don't ask a customer if they want to see a manager. you apologize, then remove the "offending item" from the table, and notify the manager. the end. the manager, though nice, was obviously pretty fresh. he did take the meal off the ticket, but as he was walking away stated "all you have to do is let us know you don't like it". um, isn't that what i did?!? i should've cooked tonight........

best 'shroom & swiss!. ok, the mushroom and swiss burger is out of this world good! it was a good thing i was sitting down! you certainly will not be disappointed...flavor was good, had a hint of sauce on it, like say almost the same kind as a salisbury steak would have, but it gave it even more flavor! the waiter stopped by often, and was very attentive as well! my son had the smaller steak, flo's filet, 7 oz, and it was so tender he didn't even need a knife!

this place is lacking.... wife and i ate here for the first time today. we were seated in a table big enough to seat 10 people. we ordered rib eye steaks, and was surprised to learn that only one side item is allowed with your meal. you don't even get a salad... however, the waiter did bring a round loaf of bread and butter, but no plates! we waited half an hour for our steaks and one side item, and we were not even offered steak sauce... what kind of steakhouse is this? while i was eating, i was eyeballing what i was going to get for dessert, but that thought went away when the waiter just brought the ticket to the table saying he'll be the cashier. never asked if we would like anything for dessert. also, the steaks were very fatty, and took a lot to work around them with a fork and knife. i ordered the loaded baked potato as my side item, however, the big lump of butter they placed in it never melted. i will never return to this place.

we like it!. my husband and i stopped in on our way home one evening. it was our 1st visit. there was a few minutes wait, which we thought was odd, because they weren't busy at all, and we thought, "oh no, this can't be a good sign." but it was very good - we loved it!
i had the parmesan crusted chicken, which was wonderful, and comes with a salad and a side for $15. but the next time i visited, i just got the parmesan chicken sandwich, which comes with fries for $10, and it was just as delicious and filling for a few less dollars.
we would visit more if we lived closer to it.
i'm perplexed that we've been there twice for dinner and they weren't very busy either time - i don't think it's because of the food...maybe they need to advertise...?
the service is just average.

good comfort food but not exciting. the mashed potatoes are good, filet is tender, it's all in all good food, not blown away, but a nice atmosphere. food is a bit on the heavy calorie side between portions and butter, so it's a rare stop.

steaks are great. if you read some of my other reviews, you know that i don't frequent many 'chain' restaurants, but i really like this place. this place has great service and the steaks are nice and prepared as they should be. what i liked most was the great service that i received and plan on going back.
