lone wolf banh mi

went to the jenks food festival this afternoon to check out the food trucks' offerings. saw the long queu for the lone wolf truck so of course me and my family have to get in it too. we waited for a good half an hour under the sun for our turn but it's supposed to be so good that it's worth the pain and wait. welp. by the time we get to the front of the line the bahnmi is already sold out, so we ordered the pork sandwich which is suppose to be just as good. and the kimchee fries of course. but to my surprise, for $8.60 i only get half a sandwich! and the kimchee fries portion can be better too. felt jiped since we're not expecting such a small lunch. if they are running low on products they should have advice the crowd, instead of halfing the portions. flavor is there but not worth the trouble.

i'll have to say i was rather dissapointed in my kimchi fries i got at the blue dome arts fest. i had heard so many great things about them. end the end, they were just fries out of a bag, kimchi out of a jar with mayo and cilantro. just not sure if i'm sold....

my flight was delayed this morning and needed some time to fill, so i decided to check this place out. i was quite impressed by the flavour combinations. a modern/southern style almost twist on vietnamese/korean dishes. right opposite tulsa university, definitely worth checking out if in the area !

can't say enough here. really interesting and unique for tulsa, they have great standing menu items and seasonal specials as well. check out the new brick-and-mortar location on 11th st.

my favorite tulsa food truck!  the pork banh mi is a great item, because the meat is tender and full of delicious vietnamese flavors, and the bread is hard enough to contain the meat & veggies, yes soft enough to enjoy.  the sandwiches are a bit higher priced than other banh mi places that i've been to, but i still go there often for their tasty offerings.

i really enjoyed the kimchi fries, they were fun and different. however, i didn't enjoy my banh mi as much, maybe i should have tried a different meat, but it wasn't very flavorful. i would go back and try something else.

the kimchi fries are nothing short of an institution, and are a must have. i never order anything else.

some of their other menu items are over concieved, but are nonetheless tasty.

whoever is dogging on the kimchi fries must not have a mouth. best fries on earth! the flavors melded between the potatoes, sauce(s), fresh herbs, and lone wolf-crafted kimchi are mind blowing. i always get an egg on top to tie it all together. the service is as you would expect from a food truck, always friendly but not always prompt, and the general vibe and atmosphere of the place makes it work. perfect with a nice beer. could not recommend highly enough - one of the culinary treasures of tulsa.

lone wolf is a favorite of mine. ive never had anything that wasn't delicious here! so excited they opened a location at 37th and harvard. placed a telephone order as i was leaving work and it was ready to be picked up in 15 minutes on my way home. i love the kimchi fried with candied bacon and the port fried rice. the soy dijon mushrooms are life changing!!

just ate my first lone wolf banh mi sandwich.  one of those rare good things where reality exceeds expectations.  can't think of anything that could be any better.

i'm a regular. i have had good sammiches, and i have had lone wolf. there is a difference. from the regular pork bahn mi, to cilantro pesto chicken (my personal favorite), to fried chicken and jalapeno meatball, this truck has you covered!  and don't even get me started on the kimchi fries... chef philip phillips has you covered with the most flavorfull bite you've ever tasted! what i'm saying is, if you haven't had lone wolf then stop what you're doing right now and go get a cilantro pesto chicken bahn mi (or kung pau pork), an order of kimchi fries, and a sixer of cheap beer and just enjoy life for the evening.  you're welcome... -jw

great food for when you've just left the bar or after a concert. very filling, and unlike any other food i've had from food trucks. they have vegetarian options, which you don't always see on food trucks.

fast and delicious food truck that will knock your socks off with flavor! finally a place that isn't afraid to kick it up a notch and wow you with spices and sauces and variety. the kimchi fries with egg and candied bacon are so good that i dream about them. i haven't had anything there that wasn't loaded with flavor and fresh ingredients.

excellent fustion of tastes. it was cold out, too...and, i definitely don't like cold weather one bit! however, i've long desired to try something from these food-trucks, that i've heard some encouraging things about, and, heading home one evening, downtown, on 3rd street (i believe, it was), i noticed that they were parked, with just a couple of folks lingering outside. actually, by the time i made the decision to try them, i had gone a couple of blocks past, so, i pulled over, parked, and, walked back, embracing the opportunity for some moderate exercise, thinking that i'd get something quick, and, be on my way.
boy, was i wrong. when i got there, i found out that their computers had malfunctioned, and, we were waiting for them to straighten up, which shouldn't be too long. i stood out, in the cold, for about 10 minutes, watching wiser folks, who had parked closer, in their vehicles, waiting for the signal that all had been restored. during my seemingly-long wait, i seriously contemplated that if i were to have to walk back to my car, i probably wouldn't turn around, and come back, just to have to still wait.
boy, would i have been wrong, again! i did go get my car, and, i did wait for the computer system to come back online, and, i began my adventure. i explained that this was my first time trying them, and, though i could read the menu, i still had no idea what anything on there was, or, what i might be inclined to like. these guys were very laid-back, cordial, good hosts, per se, and, helped me to select the kimchi fries. i also made another selection, just taking a chance, although, i don't exactly remember what its name was.
i am extremely happy to report that everything was delicious! i've not had the opportunity to catch them again, but, i very much appreciated the great food, and, i'm gonna cruise down that way tonight, in fact, hoping to happen upon them!

kimchi fries!. great food! i absolutely love their kimchi fries with candied bacon. a bit pricy, and most of the time you'll have to wait in line, but it's always worth it!
