unique takes on a simple comfort. seeing many of the other reviews makes me rather sad because to me this is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. i heard about it from a friend and decided to try since then i've been there at least 12 times and it has been rather consistent in its delivery of goodfoodand service. in a way it has become one of the local places i take friends to for the experience, whenever we all come to town this is one of our top picks. put plainly though when i go it is usually slow, but to me i've had some of the best burritos of my experience here. i'll even recommend my personal favorite for newcomers, the "curious george". whatever complaints others have may be valid, and if they then i urge lola's to remedy them so others can come to enjoy this place as much as my friends and i do.

sub par. the service was good, but thefoodwas not very good at all. we had two different burritos and both sucked. i would not recommend lolas. i should have took heed to other reviewers.

greatfoodand atmosphere! went with 2 friends for a few beers and food. tacos were great, philly wizza was awesome and i had the elvis burger which was mind blowing!

had steak taco and carnitas taco. at best fair. not a lot of flavor. served fairly plain on a small flour tortilla there was not the taste you would expect from the menu description. the ambiance is good. the server was enthusiastic pleasant and knowledgeable. unfortunately the kitchen is unable to meet much demand. we waited much longer than we should’ve.
overall the location and ambiance couldn’t overcome the mediocre flavor and taste and slowfoodservice.

had a horrible experience here twice. minimum hour wait. very mediocrefoodand their kids meal should have the ashamed. i held the quesadilla up to let it drain in minute the whole bottom of the plate was bright orange and about a half inch deep with grease. i got attitude when trying to order her something edible.

thefoodis just not very good. i've been here 4 times, and each time was pretty excited about trying something new on the menu. despite my inherent problem with charging for chips and salsa (wtf?) i've kept coming back, but after last night's dinner i just give up.

first, thefoodis not fresh. the meat, veggies, and toppings are all from sysco, or so it seems. the menu sounds exciting, but it's interesting-sounding combinations come out more like a combination of everything on your plate at a cheap chinese buffet than a mix of fresh things in an innovative kitchen. everything tastes like preservatives. i hate to say it, but even moe's makes a better burrito.

second, the drinks are mostly pre-packaged syrup with a shot in them. nothing gets made freshly here.

the service has never been bad. the ambiance is neat, if a bit forced. but the kitchen and bar need serious help.

and for god's sake, stop charging for chips and salsa.

large portions. thefoodis delicious. i can't stay away from the shrimp quesadilla. portions are ginormous and will definitely fill you up. great atmosphere and friendly service.

thefoodand portions are good and at a good price. the service is absolutely the worst and slowest service i have ever got. i don't know if they don't have enough servers on or what, but you can end up sitting at a table for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. once they do get it together, thefoodtakes forever. it is goodfoodthough, from now on i will order takeout.

lola’s burrito joint was our pick for lunch today.  it’s a fantastic little place on king st. between park and herschel.  it totally fits the vibe of what’s king street these days.  this is a restaurant that has a theme and sticks it all the way through, and not in a hokey sort of way.  the menu, decor and even wait-staff interactions feel well executed and thought out.  i’d call the theme dia de muertos meets nascar…if you’ve been and have a better description, help me out and comment.  i’d say if nothing else, the execution of the theme makes it worth the visit.  however, there is plenty else to like about it. i’ve eaten here a few times before.  typically when i eat out for dinner, i’m not in a rush at all as long asfoodis served and we’re waited on within reason.  for lunch i prefer to move a lot more quickly and get back to the office.  so, lola’s is not a typica

based on reviews, i had low expectations (for service) for our first visit but was pleasantly surprised on a busy friday night. place was packed and service was still prompt and courteous.foodwas very good and they had an ample beer selection. items our table ordered: fried corn, chips and salsa (not free and no refills on these homemade chips, queso dip, wet willie (16 year old son could not finish), fish taco, beef empanada, black beans, and chewy chimi. everyone was happy and satisfied. looking forward to my next visit.

first time there. good atmosphere.foodover priced. had a big burger, fries over proportioned. for a $12.00 burger you'd figure you'd get fresh ground beef but instead got a frozen burger patty that i can get from bj's.

if in riverside, why eat here?. seriously. been here 3 times. when they opened, a few months later and now just recently- it was the "ok, one more shot" visit.

it was also my last. i'm sorry but there are so many better options in riverside. this place reminds me of a locally owned moe's type of place that belongs in a strip mall on southside blvd. that's what thefoodis like.

owners, please buy freshfoodand quality ingredients. lola's and carmine's are both so mediocre for this reason. the menu sounds fine, but thefoodjust tastes bland and preservative-y. people know when you buy all yourfoodfrom sysco or the like. guac isn't bad, though.

anyway- the only items i find appealling are the ones that rely of fat for their flavor. try tacos or anything that should have a delicate touch and bright flavors and much is to be desired.

drinks taste syrupy/premade, but they are cheap at happy hour. my guess is they last until someone brings a decent mexican place to riverside. 5 points village please!

and finally- if a customer is ordering dinner, just give them some chips and salsa. it is really unpleasant to look at the menu and get the attitude from the servers that you're being nickeled and dime as a patron.

disappointed. i have to agree with another poster who described thefoodas “mediocre” at best. the chips and salsa were the best part (not complimentary). i had two empanadas which i found to be very doughy with a miniscule amount of filling, one with black beans, and another with a butternut squash mixture. my hubby ordered the wet willy burrito, emphasis on “wet” or soaked in a sauce very similar to taco bell’s red sauce. the side of corn appeared to be from a can, with kernels perfectly cut, and no sign of being “roasted” as advertised. our waitress was attentive, and the rest of the staff was friendly.

do it. best burrito selection and execution i have ever seen. i've made my way down the list of burritos and have not came across one i did not like. on top of that i have just recently treated myself to a few of the burgers they now have and omg i would put their burgers up against any of the competition. i'm nofoodexpert but i know what my belly likes. if you haven't had the chance to enjoy the likes of the all hail the queen burger, leapin lizard burritio, or the wet willy you should smack yourself. i haven't even mentioned the best part.... happy hour... seriously??!?!?!?! it doesnt get any better than half $2.99 margaritas lol. the drinks are definitely on point and even the beer selection blows my mind.
